They really should focus on bringing the game in the stores immediately and not wasting time with goodies like this. I'm waiting for this game so long now - and this is really a feature you can patch in after release if you're feeling it's worth it. I don't need such gimmicks. I need a campaign and a lot of (couch coop) multiplayer maps.
@Bunkerneath For two main negative points in the NintendoLife Review: a) Movement and aiming sticked at the same control stick: Didn't bother me at all. b) No Private Rooms in Online Multiplayer: Patched in in the meantime.
@PlywoodStick
So: Free for homebrew use, piracy behind a paywall?
Seems to be a "fair" deal while I still think it's a strange behaviour tbh. "If you want to break the law you have to pay for it!"
There's really some irony of fate behind the story that makes me smile.
Assuming there's still no difficulty setting in the game I'm out. I'd love to love this game but from all what I read it's too hard for me. No problem - I can live with that. And it's a lot of fun for many - so...
5/10 seems a bit unfair. The game does what you're expecting in a positive way. You want a Space Invaders clone and you get one. It's chaotic in a good way with all the effects on the screen. It put a smile on my face seeing the only three settings in the Options menu are graphics related. (Two to lessen graphic effects and one to give even more of them - from the Defaults point of view.) I had a lot of fun so far and I'm shure I'll start it every now and then for a short dive into it. It helps that loading time of the game is really short and once you're in there are practically no more loading times at all. A game for a small price that keeps what it promises.
I was hyped about the game but in my opinion it's price is just absurd. I also read about technical problems (you know the stories) and I'm not shure if they're fixed... So I didn't buy it.
@Cobalt Seems a good deal to me for downscaling some textures and adjusting the controls. We're not talking about a new game but about porting an existing one.
But tbo they can do what they want. I'm not interested in this game anyway!
"2nd, the public target for the kind of game is not big enough at the time on the Switch." @Cobalt I assume you have solid numbers for a claim like that. Or are you speculating like the producer of the game?
So the mess with the pointer I had in the Demo wasn't my fault? That's really sad! This was really annoying! Are there any benefits having the Toad Amiibo? I put it along with my preorder of the game - but it's not too late to change my order.
The pricing is absolutely OK while I hope they rewrite the network code for some games that are using p2p at the moment instead of a client server architecture. But for myself online gaming isn't a big thing tbo - so the benefit on this side is small but maybe changing in the future. For me it's the so called "legacy content" which makes the offer interesting. I'm looking forward what Nintendo is doing an this part. The possibility for cloud saves is OK, but I don't want cloud saves - I want to backup my saves on a memory card. Not being able to do that is the most annoying thing of the Switch - while I love the console as a whole.
I'd rather have a new Meteos. This game was so fantastic. It was the last of it's kind that really blew me away. If Wikipedia is right both licenses (Lumines and Meteos) are in the same hands. So maybe there's hope? Most probably I'll give Lumines a shot when it's on sale some day.
Nintendo could use the money to rewrite the network code of Splatoon and Mario Kart to a host based system. This - by the way - would make the existing hacks obsolete. Or am I missing something?
Nintendo always said that the service will come and will cost cash. The pricing is ok, so no complaints about that.
In my eyes the argument of having a stable network infrastructure lacks a bit. Players can potentially profit from the infrastructure in future games. For the existing ones (for example Splatoon and Mario Kart) Nintendo would have to completely reprogram the network code of the games, changing it from peer to peer to something that uses the new infrastructure. Hear my words: This will not happen.
But the point stands: Future games can potentially profit.
I'm not a big online player. Multiplayer happens in my living room together with friends. Not only because of the crappy online app you need to have voice chat. (In fact all of my friends use Teamspeak instead.) But Nintendo don't stomp this app into the ground and offer voice chat via the console itself, they try to push the App in the future. Not a big deal for me - as I said I'm not playing online that much. But this leads to the point that really makes me angry:
Now I understand why Nintendo don't let us backup our save data by ourselves.
I sunk 750 hours of playing time in Xenoblade. Every time I switch on my console I pray it's not wrecked. Maybe the day will come and it is. And then? So as long as we can't backup the saves by ourselves we're practically forced to pay extra and pay for a service, some people just would not need otherwise. I'm really a Nintendo fanboy but I argue that this was Nintendos plan from the day on they decided to not let us save our data on a SD card.
This - and this point only - really makes me angry about the hole online service thing. They not only lock cloud saves behind a paywall (which would be ok for me tbo - I know others think different), they lock save backups behind it.
Bad move Nintendo!
I was so hyped about this... let's say... App. But it does not make any sense without an export function.
High hopes - high disappointment.
It would have been a day one buy for me.
More Poppi can only be good! I'd give someone money for playing Tiger! Tiger! for me for completing Poppi a's affinity chart - the only one for me that isn't S.
If I read everything correct in the past few weeks (which might be wrong - I'm no English native speaker) Twin Galaxies have no proof Billy cheated they just have a suspicion. In Germany (that's where I come from) everybodys innocent until the guilt is proofed. I don't see this in this case. The tapes are lost - this alone makes it impossible to proof him guilty. It's a witch hunt. The longer the discussion holds on the more I'm on Billy's side.
Only one pick? So I can't give a vote.
M&R KB, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Doom, Worms W.M.D., Mario Odyssey... along with a lot of Indie pearls - I really can't give you one vote only.
Such a strong lineup!

Re: CIRCLE Entertainment Is Bringing European Conqueror X To Switch This Year
I prefer fantasy wars instead of re"playing" real wars.
Changing real history in a game always left me with a sour taste. It's kind of trivializing.

Team Xecuter are no serious hackers but business men. No serious hacker would charge money for their "product".
