Re: Dragon Ball FighterZ Dev Team Discuss The Accessible Nature Of The Title

CactuarDavid

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle is much more accessible in my opinion. Although that might just be because you 'only' control two characters instead of three.
I always thought DoA was pretty fun to play just because, like Smash, most specials are just a button direction + attack button. The rock-paper-scissors system is also easy to grasp.
This is also the reason why Pokken is easy to learn and enjoy. Most people call it Tekken + Pokémon because of the name and developers, but it really has more in common with DoA.

I've always seen Bravely Default as a spiritual successor to Final Fantasy V in particular... and this one looks to be the same for FFVI. I just can't wait.
I really like the change in story, just eight people going on an adventure together without being 'chosen ones' or having a big darkness looming over the land. Very refreshing.
Of course, the visuals are drop-dead gorgeous. I, too, will get a lot of use out of the screenshot button.

Just one more week!!

Wait, Pocket Rumble is finally out!? I thought that game was a myth by now!
I got Yooka-Laylee on PC from a friend for free last week, but I have yet to play it. Something tells me it's nowhere near as good as A Hat in Time, though.
For anyone on the fence about Mercenary Kings, I wholeheartedly recommend it! The gameplay is like a mix between Contra and Monster Hunter (somehow).

Oh, and uh, just some friendly advice: don't go around claiming that fighting games will have better framerate on PS4/Xbox One. No self-respecting fighting game developer/publisher will dare release a fighting game running anything less than a solid 60fps.

Let me weigh in on the ongoing conversation that if you judge the merit of a console based solely on the amount of exclusive games it has and whether or not the multiplatform games are technically better than the competition, I'm not sure if I like you.

One of my least favourite things in the gaming industry (and I say this as someone who only has Nintendo consoles) is exclusivity. At all. I want as many people to be able to play all these wonderful games in whatever way they want on whatever platform they want.

This ties in to the whole 'better specs' thing. If you want to play Crash NSane on PS4 because it runs/looks better, go ahead! Be my guest! If I had a PS4, I probably would too. But the fact of the matter is that some people only have a Switch, and for them these games releasing on their platform holds a lot of value that might not be there for people who have 'more powerful' alternatives. And then there is the ever-present added joy of portability. Again, depends on how you want to play your games.

So if you think the Switch has no games for you, that's understandable. But please don't make other people feel terrible about their choices. Everyone is allowed to make their choices. You. Me. Them. All of us.

There were so many improvements TK made between the release of HW on the Wii U and now with their Musou games, but it's kind of sad that they never bothered to implement them in this definitive edition.
I loved the game at launch on the Wii U, but every time I pick it up now on the Switch I play one level and then get exasperated with it and put it down again. I just can't find the joy in the game anymore, which maddens me.
At least I can go back to FEW and OPPW3 and get that joy back, so that's nice. Can't wait for whatever TK creates next for the Switch. Apparently Warriors Orochi 4 is being revealed at E3? Or at least soon.

If you are at all interested in musou games you should seriously consider Pirate Warriors 3. It's my favourite in the franchise, ranking higher than Fire Emblem Warriors and Hyrule Warriors. If you want to unlock everything this game will keep you busy for a looooooong while!

Re: Pocket Rumble Reminds You That It Still Exists By Being Playable At EGX Rezzed 2018

I was really excited when this got announced ageeeeees ago, but that hype has pretty much vanished now. The developer/publisher must also be hitting themselves for being so late to the party when they could've launched back during that golden launch period where everything released on the Switch eShop raked in bucketloads of cash.
Oh well, here's to hoping the game still turns out okay for players and creators alike.

I'm getting Kirby physically, and I have yet to decide if I want Gal*Gun 2 physically on Switch or digitally on Steam.
Oh, and don't sleep on Theatrhythm Curtain Call on the 3DS, if you like rhythm games then this game gives you an extraordinary amount of content for only €20!
