Fire Emblem Warriors was one of those releases that seems to have gotten a little passed over at launch, as the game released only one week in advance of Super Mario Odyssey. Though we’re due to get a mainline Fire Emblem game sometime this year, Fire Emblem Warriors did a great job of finding middle ground between the gameplay of the Warriors series and Nintendo popular SRPG. The initial release was meaty enough, but Tecmo has been releasing DLC as part of the season pass every now and then, and the latest content has just gone live.
The new DLC focuses on Fire Emblem: Awakening, and sees the addition of Owain, Tharja, and Olivia to the roster. It also brings new History Mode maps, new skills, new weapons, and new costumes. Here’s the full list of things included, along with the content being added in the free 1.5.0 update that coincides with it:
◆ Additional Playable Characters
Owain
- Voiced by: Hidenori Takahashi
- Weapon: Sword
- Class: Swordsman
With his character skill, “Balanced Power Resonance,” the smaller the difference between his Str and Mag, the greater the damage he can deal to enemies.
Tharja
- Voiced by: Yuuki Takada
- Weapon: Grimoire
- Class: Dark Mage
Although she will take slip damage when her character skill, “Covenant of Destruction,” is equipped, the lesser her HP gets, the greater the damage she can deal to enemies. (The HP reduced by slip damage will not affect your Battle Results.)
Olivia
- Voiced by: Rei Matsuzaki
- Weapon: Sword
- Class: Dancer
With her character skill, “Galeforce,” the Warrior Gauge and Awakening Gauge restore each time you defeat a strong enemy.
◆ Additional History Maps
Scion of Legend
A mysterious swordsman seeking the legendary divine sword “Mystletainn” shows up in a certain village.
Exalt Emmeryn
Chrom and company, who visited Plegia in order to rescue Emmeryn, come across a shaman who re-chants a suspicious spell.
Caravan Dancer
While Plegia soldiers withdrew from the battlefield, the figure of a determined, lone dancer heading towards the battlefield appeared.
◆ Additional Armor Break Models
Armor Break state model changes will be supported for the following characters: Chrom, Lucina, Robin, Lissa, Frederick, Cordelia, Owain, Tharja, and Olivia.
◆ Dedicated Weapons
- Robin
- “Thoron”
- Lissa
- “Lissa’s Healing Axe”
- Frederick
- “Frederick’s Solid Axe”
- Cordelia
- “Cordelia’s Love Lance”
- Owain
- “Mystletainn”
- Tharja
- “Tharja’s Spell”
- Olivia
- “Olivia’s Dancing Sword”
◆ Additional Weapon Skills
- Active Strengthening
- Further increases damage dealt by attack-type and special-type weapon skills. (Targets weapon skills such as Critical+ and Triangle+.)
- Attack Acceleration
- Increases the speed of Critical and Strong attacks. (The weapon skill previously only granted to the “Chrom’s Training Sword” obtained via the Chrom Amiibo.)
- Full Capacity Amplification
- Amplifies all stats except movement. (The weapon skill previously only granted to the “Tiki’s Tear” obtained via the Tiki Amiibo.)
(Additional costumes, usable weapons, and weapon skills can be obtained as rewards for clearing History Maps.)

- Maximum Character Level Increase
- Increases the maximum character level from 130 to 150.

is just sitting here waiting for Hyrule warriors
i still don't know if i should get this or wait for a complete edition.
@Joeynator3000 i think we ll are at this point.
I might have to pick this up
Will have to find some time to get stuck into this again. I still haven't played much of the last DLC pack. Am in the thick of Musou Orochi 2 Ultimate right now that has my Warriors fix sated.
@edgedino Yeah, lemme get the popcorn...
@edgedino The game is great and definitely a lot of bang for your buck. Not really found much of the DLC content that compelling compared to what Hyrule Warriors got. Unsure if a complete edition will ever be a thing though?
Hyrule Warriors, however, is by far the better game. Especially this upcoming Definitive Edition.
Pretty nice that they are still supporting this game. I generally like Warriors games but they tend to lose my interest. I always mean to finish them, but get distracted by something else, and the lack of any real coherent story loses me. It's a lot of fun, for about 8-10 hours.
Where's Hyrule Warriors....
Cuurently playing and just finished story mode and loving it. Warriors games have always been a favourite, I feel spoiled on Switch 😁
The free updates are awesome and will need the dlc at some point (especially for Lissa's,Robin's and Cordelia's weapons!)
Props Tecmo 👍👍
Fire Emblem Warriors is great. I'm not going to get Hyrule Warriors. I had it before on Wii U and it's too similar to this.
I'm ready for them to stop updating this game, to be honest.
Seeing this has made me want Fire Emblem Warriors. Have played Hyrule Warriors for ages on Wii U and was thinking of getting the remastered version. Now I'm considering getting this instead.
At least Comparing this to the WiiU Hyrule Warriors Version, I'd say Fire Emblem Comes out on top, it has a much better strategy system
"There’s been an Awakening"
Have you felt it? Starwars reference!
Best game of 2017! Sad times now there is no more DLC wahhh
Look at that screenshot, Owain's sword arm is actually glowing with an awesome power!
This DLC has some awesome stuff in it, and I still recommend this game over Hyrule Warriors. The only thing FEW doesn't have over HW is roster representation, but gameplay is leagues ahead.
I do find this more strategic to play than Hyrule Warriors. This is an excellent game.
Good game and DLC. Nice it finally has video capture too. Now to wait and hope for a sequel representing the other games
Fire Emblem Warriors is an amazing game! 😊
Just downloaded the update and DLC last night.
Really need to get back to this game. I enjoyed it a lot. Tharja and Olivia have some awesome moves.
Finally the full game is now available.
@XenoShaun I found the gameplay in Fire emblem warriors to be better, but hyrule warriors had much more content.
FEW has been quite fun in the week or so that I've played it, and I hope to invest in the season pass next month. It's a good introduction to Warriors franchise and its trademark mix of hack'n'slash and real time tactics, reminiscent of what Herzog Zwei actually attempted as early as 1989 (not the hack'n'slash part, of course, but the action part allowing you to command many varied units AND fight alongside them in real time overall). There's a lot to develop, farm and upgrade, the characters are almost constantly chatting about something, the action is smooth and fast-paced yet even the first few maps I've played so far can take over half an hour to finish, especially if you want to do all the side objectives. Quality stuff, and finally sells me on the genre. Even if it may be unwise to play it ahead of most of the franchise spoiler-wise. XD
I do plan to get Hyrule Warriors sometime later (its demo on 3DS, DQH demo on Switch and what I've tried of the semi-patched Tales of Heroes on PSP combined to make me actually curious about these musou games in the first place, where briefly trying Dynasty Warriors on DS and PSP did not), and maybe some One Piece stuff eventually, but I'm good for now. Too bad DQH dilogy itself is still stuck in Japan despite the long finished localisations of both games elsewhere (seriously, Square Enix, if you're doubtful about pricy game cards, just make it an eShop title for the time being). And I'm frankly still surprised there hasn't been Final Fantasy Warriors, considering the potential rich variety of character movesets and crossover lore that Dissidia has long confirmed and practiced.
Pushed the update as soon as it reached 8pm last night. This was my most anticipated of the 3 since I'm mostly familiar with the characters and story in Awakening compared to the others since it's the 1st FE game I played completely.
Also the update comes as a real Blessing (lol) for me since I can make it more challenging and get more materials.
tharja best girl
Been holding off playing the maps as wanted to play as Owain. Chuffed.
Oh good, two more sword users. That should fix the imbalance between the number of sword users vs axes and spears.
I like the game but not one of the dlc boys were unique. We get 3 boys compared to 6 girls and all the boys are clones whereas only 4 of the girls are. Lovely.
