After the initial rumours that a LEGO game featuring DC villains would be releasing at some point, last week saw a tease be shared with the world hinting at an official release. Now, just a few days later, the reveal is finally here - LEGO DC Super Villains is definitely a thing, and it's coming to Switch this October.
Players will find themselves at the centre of a villain-centric (and quite frankly barmy-looking) adventure packed with all your favourite locations and characters from the DC universe. This is the first time that you'll have the ability to create and play as your own super villain throughout the game, and your character becomes the centre of the story, teaming up with an iconic variety of villains to adventure with along the way.
As you progress through the game you'll unlock new abilities and powers, and can continue to customise your character to take on the evil threat. Friends and family can join the story mode at any time with a two-player, local co-op experience where players can team up in epic boss fights.
An exclusive LEGO minifigure, Lex Luthor Superman, will come with the physical version of the Deluxe Edition (which features the main game content, Season Pass content, and early access to the DC Super-Villains: TV Series DLC Character Pack) while digital consumers will receive the Justice League Dark DLC Character Pack with their Deluxe Edition.
The game arrives on October 16th. Will you be giving this one a go?

I still waiting for NON Super Heroes / Super Villain / any Western licensed movies.
Please, Tt Fusion, make at least another Sporty LEGO games with Normal / Casual outfits.
I'm not fan of stupid / horrendous costumes.
After the LEGO Batman movie rendition the more classic LEGO Joker looks positively creepy.
This actually looks like. But come on, the fifth Lego game on Switch?
I hope it actually runs well on Switch this time...
This looks promising! LEGO games are fun, but not $60 fun. Any word on pricing?
@NightBeast 6th
Marvel 2, worlds, city, ninjago movie, incrediblss and dc villians.
Lego releases 3 games per year (with the exception of 2016 where the whole year was dedicated to dimensions)
But it also has 3 teams making the games. Lego overwatch has leaked for Q1 2019 paired with an overwatch lego building theme.
It even baffles me neither nintendolife nor pushsquare mentioned lego overwatch yet. The theme is confirmed by both lego and activision blizzard and the voice actress for D.va and the voice actor for genji confirmed to be working on a game related to the new overwatch lego theme.
Pretty much over these games now to be honest.
@NightBeast yeah it's crazy how many games they churn out. I think with this game there are close to 15 on ps4/xb1 in less than 5 years, 5 on the switch in 18 months is bananas!
This one looks interesting though. Definitely not getting during October but probably grab it sometime next year when it's on sale!
My favourite part of the original LEGO Batman game was that it came with the alternative story from the Villain's perspective. But I'll likely still not pick it up until it's less than £20 as all these games eventually become.
I've always liked DC Villians so this is good news!
Do the LEGO games on Switch run well so far? I'd given up on Wii U versions because they were so bad...
@Anti-Matter They won't stop the superhero games because they sell. If you put a popular brand on something, it sells better than other games.
@Anti-Matter They're a western company that makes tons of money making games based on western movies.
They don't have a reason to change that, and if they did I doubt it would be casual or sporty...
I'm more of a Marvel fan, so I'll pass.
And yet, nothing else "new" from WB games.
I'll say it again, enough of Lego games, where are the Batman Arkham series, Injustice 2, MK etc?
@Matthew010
From All Real LEGO Toys that i have ever knew and found, Only LEGO City that captured my interest.
Reasons :
1. I like Police outfits. Blue Tops, Dark Blue Bottom, Police hats (Official & Baseball cap style) = Instant Love.
2. The outfits for other LEGO characters are just Normal, Casual, Simple but interesting. There are some Sporty outfits that i like, especially Boxer outfits.
3. No famous names. Only Chase Mc Chain as the Hero.
4. I like theme of City landscapes. They are so Natural (Forest, Garden, Lake, Beach) and Modern (Buildings, Shops, Ordinary transportations)
5. No Weirdos, No Superheroes, No Horrendeous looking LEGO.
And almost All LEGO with Western movies themes = same old song, same boring games.
@Kimyonaakuma
I wonder something Casual or Sporty that sells the LEGO in Western.
LEGO City was Not enough.
I really like to see LEGO games in Different genre such as Sport Sims (Baseball, Tennis, Boxing, Surfing, Golf, Karate, Gymnastic, Swimming, etc) or Rhythm (But please No Guitar Hero LEGO. Something like DDR LEGO Mix or Para Para Paradise Lego Mix or Jubeat Lego Mix) or Life Sims Sandbox (Animal Crossing style / Portal Knights style).
@NewAdvent lego overwatch will be first up next year, voice actress from D.va and the voice actor from genji confirmed it, can’t source it since lego is very quick on deleting such evidence but it’s from a legoleak discord with 3 people who work at lego from which 1 worked on the overwatch theme.
But will it be open world?
I'm a bit torn. I like LEGO games. They're formulaic, but I enjoy the escape into just smashing bricks. However, I'm not really keen on playing the part of a villain - even one in a LEGO world. I'll keep an eye on it and might consider it when it goes on sale, but overall, not really interested. I'd rather play the LEGO Incredibles.
Honestly I'll give it a go but I think it's kinda cheap because a lot of these characters will already have been playable in Lego Batman 1 or 2.
Sweeeeet!!!
I miss old school comic book games.
Seems like Travelers Tales is taking the idea of playing the villain in the original Lego Batman and launching it to the stratosphere
I assume the title change is because WB doesn't want a to release a kids/family game with the word "suicide" in the title (plus, some jurisdictions may rate the game more harshly for that reason).
Now here is a LEGO game I'll pay full price for. (Well for the vanilla game anyway. I don't buy into that season pass stuff.) I love LEGO games, but there are just too many to buy for full price. I'll play them all eventually, though. Will I ever tire of them? It sure doesn't seem likely.
@MonkiPlays LEGO Batman 2 was my favorite too!
@darkswabber Wait, whoa whoa whoa, excuse me if I read your post wrong, but TT Games might be making a Lego Overwatch game? How on earth will that work? I'll admit, I'm very intrigued.
I love DC Comics, so this will definitely be one I'm looking forward to!
Also reading stuff here about a Lego Overwatch game... Can't wait for the Lego adaptation to tell a better story than the source material, lol
