@Late The PEC room actually outright crashed my game the first time I went through, and I didn't even save. I think there were also reports of a certain event not triggering in that room, making some people get stuck. After that first crash and luckily not having my save corrupted, I just grabbed a walkthrough and made my way out of there ASAP.
Nice shots, even if the Vita version is (obviously) better looking. I don't have a Vita, so I'll stick with my good ol' 3DS. I think I am going to make sure to not look at any news or screenshots of this game though. It's release is getting close, and I don't want to spoil too much.
@Moon Darn, I completely forgot to check the expiration date on those games! I should've gotten WarioWare first... Eh, at least I still have the original DS game in case I run out of time.
I was disappointed that the Mega Picross puzzles have the same solutions as the normal Picross puzzles, but it's still a fun (kinda) free Picross game.
Ya know, before the entire thing went down, I didn't even know who this person was. And honestly, while it must suck for her to be out of a job (and I hope she will find a new job soon if she hasn't already), I still can't seem to care about things like this. Nintendo's timing did seem kinda suspect, though. In any case, that's all I'll say on the matter, as I am nowhere near informed enough to say much else or defend a standpoint.
That reminds me I still have to get the first SoS. I might just wait for this instead. I'll have to check a wiki and see which game has the better supporting cast, as that is usually what makes or breaks a game like this for me.
@FTPinkRabbit It does have that Linkle story mode, but I hear that is not particularly noteworthy. And after all the Adventure Mode maps that the Wii U version has, I honestly don't need even more of those.
But yeah, if those things appeal to you, you probably should try the 3DS version. Maybe see if a friend gets the game, and you can ask if you can try it on your own 3DS.
@FTPinkRabbit Yeah, I feel the same. I'm just going to get the DLC when the Wii U season pass releases. New characters and weapons are the only thing I'm really interested in anyway, haha.
I still have 10 euro left on my eShop account, so I was waiting until this article to see if that Wii U Hyrule Warriors season pass would drop this week. Since it doesn't, I'll find something else to spend it on, like some DLC for games I already own. Also, if you don't have it yet, Virtue's Last Reward is a fantastic visual novel / puzzle game.
@FTPinkRabbit I played the demo on my old 3DS and... it's not very good technically. And I am a pretty lenient guy when it comes to enemy pop-in and even framerate. Of course, it still has the great gameplay of Hyrule Warriors, but the technical issues make me worry about how you are supposed to do some of the later more difficult missions.
@Grumblevolcano I suppose that is a good enough reason, but I still don't see why NoA would just not have any form of the demo at all. It shouldn't be too hard to make the demo only available for New 3DS users.
@FTPinkRabbit At least here in Europe, there is a demo of Hyrule Warriors Legends on the eShop, so I would be very surprised if there was no demo of the game at wherever you live.
Gonna get the Wii U stuff only, as the demo of Legends did not run particularly well on my old 3DS, haha. So, the new characters and weapons are intriguing. My guess for the first pack is either Marin or the Wind Fish. The second could be Linebeck or Byrne/Staven from Spirit Tracks... and I'd love it if the Toon Link weapon was Spirit Zelda possessing a Phantom and Link commanding it, just like in the game. The third pack's characters could be any two of Ravio, Yuga, or Hilda. ...Or Nintendo could be Nintendo and pull something completely unexpected out of nowhere, haha.
I dunno man. You earn money by the truckloads in this game, so eventually, that penalty will not really matter anymore. Especially once you've bought the items you want. Still far better than no punishment at all, though.
And to the people who have connection problems... these measures are kind of a necessary evil with online fighting games. And honestly, if your connections drops out so much that this becomes a major issue to you, playing online might not be the best option for both you and whoever you are fighting at the moment.
I'm glad about the buffs to the likes of Samus, and a few others. This patch actually seems to buff the characters I regularly use, while nerfing the characters one of my friends uses regularly, which is just sad for him, haha. Even though I use Corrin, and am sad about most of the nerfs, that counter knockback seriously had to be reduced.
@4sterr Wait, so KBG's numbers going up are actually nerfs? Otherwise, I would say Kirby actually got the most buffs, haha.
(Unless by 'puff' you meant Jigglypuff...)
@Jacadamia Now the points about the Toads and the story are arguments I can understand (The one who decided that Bowser was not allowed to talk in SS needs to get a serious scolding). Although, yet again, I don't feel we have seen nearly enough to make an informed opinion about them.
Reading the comments here the only thing I'm seeing are people saying this is going to be 'the worst game ever made' because it's not like the first game, which I find to be a very silly train of thought. Never mind the fact that we only have one trailer, which arguably didn't show that much of the battle system, which is what most people are hung up on. I, for one, am one of the few people who did not want to throw SS into the depths of hell after playing it, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of this.
EDIT: Oh, and for those wondering; TTYD is my favourite game of all time. Doesn't mean I can't enjoy any of the other games in the series, or that everything has to be just like it. I'd rather have Nintendo fully commit to something creative than to have them make a half-baked sequel to TTYD just because fans demand them to.
Possible spoilers So seeing 'Team D' there, with Sigma, Phi, and the third girl, and on the same page also art of Sigma, Phi and Luna from VLR... If that means what I think it means, I am even more excited right now!
I played a bit of Hotel Dusk, which I enjoyed. Considering how much I love the detective genre of media, this will be a must-buy if it releases in the west. That reminds me I still have Another Code R somewhere in my collection. I should probably finally start that sometime.
I only have money to buy one game this month, and that will be Samurai Warriors 4 Empires... so nothing on this list. I'll get Stella Glow eventually once my finances start to balance out and I have nothing with a higher priority to buy.
I wonder how severe these 'restrictions' are. A lifetime ban would be an extremely poor response to someone accidentally stumbling across a glitch. Meanwhile, I'm still weeping about one of my few levels getting taken off the server because nobody played it, haha.
I got the demo on my normal 3DS and... that framerate was just blargh. At this point, I'd rather just have them release all that DLC for the Wii U version as well. At least only the characters, I don't need the incredibly difficult DLC maps.
Who at Koei Tecmo decided it was a good idea to make A ranking based on the number of hearts lost instead of a percentage of hearts lost? There is barely any reason to collect heart containers! End of rant
Haven't played Splatoon in a while, but this might get me to come back, at least for a few days. Still kinda crossing fingers for playable Octolings, but at this point they might just keep that for a sequel.
Sequel to Triple Deluxe? Sign me up! And if they could get the same people who made the soundtrack of that game to come back for this, sign me up twice!
What I gather from the whole 'no English voice actors' thing, is that they basically already knew what their target audience was... which just happens to be one that often doesn't mind not having English dubs. Still excited about it. No amount of overblown 'censorship' shouts is going to convince me otherwise.
@TheWPCTraveler They could do what they do in the Untold games' story modes, but in reverse: Have one main dungeon that you return to (in this case the Yggdrasil Tree), and several other dungeons that you have to visit in order to get tools/skills/items etc. so that you can continue the main dungeon.
@Spoony_Tech I'm going to have to research those moves online later. I tend to play this game with my favourite characters instead of characters with good synergy, and I am hopeless with Persona Fusion, haha. ...And then I'm going to have to continue that third dungeon. ...In a well-lit room. With other people nearby. And loud music playing.
My expectations: I don't have any. Just gonna let it happen, and see what they have to tell me. That way, I keep possible disappointment down to an absolute minimum whilst still being excited about surprises and other news. I advise some of the other people in the comment section to do the same, because some predictions I'm seeing here are reaching E3 Digital Event levels of outrageousness!
Ah, this should be nice. Hopefully, there will be a Fates release date... even though I still have more than enough to play in my backlog before I start an entire new Fire Emblem campaign, ahaha.
@antipop621 To be fair, even I as an EO 'veteran' so to speak, thought that from the third dungeon on Persona Q got very tough very fast. ...Then again I have yet to finish the third dungeon, not because of the difficulty, but because it's a ghost-themed level and I am a scaredy-cat, haha. Etrian Odyssey games since Untold 1 have had an Easy difficulty which should help you get through it without too much trouble (if you can swallow your pride, that is ) whilst still keeping some challenge.
@Spoony_Tech Yeah, it can't be stated enough how many good changes Persona Q made to the EO system. The dungeons felt more filled with life, the puzzles were (in my opinion) more clever, and the map-making was refined without making it too simple. EO2U already incorporated some of these improvements, and I'm hoping EO5 will keep improving on it.
Good to hear. Hopefully, Nintendo will keep this momentum going. Although those old-school FE fans who want to go back to the 'good old days' would have a field day with more games like Awakening / Birthright, haha. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting with bated breath for a European release. At least, I have Bravely Second to keep me busy until that happens.
As always I'll pick up the free Etrian DLC. I got Bravely Second pre-ordered, so that will take up my time this weekend. With these two games and everything in my backlog I've got more than enough to tide me over until... whenever NoE decides to release Fates.
I sure hope no people going to this will take it too seriously and actually start offing each other, haha. I really can't wait until ZTP comes out. VLR is one of my favourite gaming experiences of my life.
@Mahe But last week alone were so many new games, discounts, DLC, high-profile demos, and even some (apparently much requested) VC releases. Was there really nothing amongst all that that you'd want to play?
Reading the comments here actually makes me wonder if there really are people out there who can spend money on games every single week. I got EO2U this week and Bravely Second is up next week. I honestly don't have money or time to spend on much more than that. I suppose months of nothing would make people antsy for new things, but I don't get the feeling that has happened lately?
I can't wait for EO5! While the Untold games are fine, IV is still my favourite, and if they use some of the improvements that Persona Q made to the EO gameplay than EO5 will be even better.
@Uberchu: Yeah, I checked Serebii and Mew, Darkrai, Arceus, and Genesect will run through GameStop in America (I am European so I wonder what happens to them here) and all the others will go over Nintendo Network, which is fantastic.
Ah finally, the (semi-)next Etrian Odyssey is coming soon. I might do a Classic run of the first Untold game while waiting for it. This demo will also hopefully keep me busy for an hour or two.
