Re: Talking Point: What Could NFTs Mean For Gaming, And Why Are They So Divisive?

BongoBongo

“Honestly it feels like buzzwords and marketing smoke… Somehow NFTs are involved. That just sounds like a traditional downloadable game model with NFTs shoehorned into it so they can attract media attention… the NFT serves almost no function, and would be worthless if the server that actually hosts the real content ever goes down.”

Sums it all up for me

@Gamer_Zeus the problem is most gamers seeing their run time is 8 hours or so on their save file and assuming that’s how long they have played for - but they probably need to add a few hours as the game clock doesn’t count bits between save points and deaths.

I completed the game in 9 hours then went back for a 100% completion which increased the total to 12 hours. But the switch clock says I have been playing for about “20 hours”.

Going to do a hard mode run at some point (albeit not 100%) so that will increase to at least 30

I’m going to avoid using the term lazy - as that seems to be a source of debate above - but this is definitely an indicator of their overall approach to spending the time and effort required to make this the “definitive edition”.

Purely from a file size bloat perspective - surely this would be an easy win compression wise so that the mandatory download isn’t as high?

Free stuff is always good! I hope there are a chunk of the new labels which are on the easier side - anything that you were able to solve made you feel like a genius even if it was the first few levels because of how clever the game concept is.

If you haven’t gotten this game then I would highly recommend - its one flaw is that it gets very difficult quite quickly but you can still get appreciation out of those brain stumpers

Re: GTA Trilogy's Physical Edition On Switch Appears To Require A Download

Irrespective of the point around cheaping out on the cart - it appears that Take2 (and subsidiaries) are generally the worst compressors of game file size out there (roughly half the top 20 switch game file size list is Take2 - see the post on the forum about file sizes)

That seems to be another form of corporate greed as they don’t want to spend the money doing it and probably makes less of a difference on other platforms
