“Honestly it feels like buzzwords and marketing smoke… Somehow NFTs are involved. That just sounds like a traditional downloadable game model with NFTs shoehorned into it so they can attract media attention… the NFT serves almost no function, and would be worthless if the server that actually hosts the real content ever goes down.”
@Gamer_Zeus the problem is most gamers seeing their run time is 8 hours or so on their save file and assuming that’s how long they have played for - but they probably need to add a few hours as the game clock doesn’t count bits between save points and deaths.
I completed the game in 9 hours then went back for a 100% completion which increased the total to 12 hours. But the switch clock says I have been playing for about “20 hours”.
Going to do a hard mode run at some point (albeit not 100%) so that will increase to at least 30
Outer Wilds was originally announced for summer 2021 then confirmed delayed until December 2021. We haven’t heard anything since then which is strange - but all could make sense if we got a shadowdrop tomorrow!
I have had an issue since day 1 where my villagers will often walk around in a plain blank white T-shirt despite having been given many items of clothing - would prefer this glitch to be honest
@Ogbert It's out next Tuesday worldwide. The NA Download article lists all games between today and next Wednesday whereas the Europe lists all games releasing this week I believe
I’m going to avoid using the term lazy - as that seems to be a source of debate above - but this is definitely an indicator of their overall approach to spending the time and effort required to make this the “definitive edition”.
Purely from a file size bloat perspective - surely this would be an easy win compression wise so that the mandatory download isn’t as high?
Free stuff is always good! I hope there are a chunk of the new labels which are on the easier side - anything that you were able to solve made you feel like a genius even if it was the first few levels because of how clever the game concept is.
If you haven’t gotten this game then I would highly recommend - its one flaw is that it gets very difficult quite quickly but you can still get appreciation out of those brain stumpers
I don't get if you rerelease a film from 2001 on bluray you don't suddenly lose half the soundtrack? Why don't do licensing deals which cover future releases?
Irrespective of the point around cheaping out on the cart - it appears that Take2 (and subsidiaries) are generally the worst compressors of game file size out there (roughly half the top 20 switch game file size list is Take2 - see the post on the forum about file sizes)
That seems to be another form of corporate greed as they don’t want to spend the money doing it and probably makes less of a difference on other platforms
Been looking forward to this one for a while but don’t think they ever announced it was going to come out in 2021 did they? So doesn’t feel like a delay.
In fact I’m just glad to hear something on it to confirm it still exists!
These game trials are at times the real major benefit of NSO but sometimes the games are a bit and miss. Glad they still do this for the base membership rather than making it an expansion pass thing (even less reason to upgrade)
@riChchestM I wanted to do the same with my Mario one but two flaws in that plan - firstly it doesnt stay on so you would have to occasionally press buttons on it and secondly it didnt come with a stand either
“Every game that has an upfront cost and contains online multiplayer will require Nintendo Switch Online to play the online multiplayer component. Here's the full list:“
This surely isn’t the full list? Where are Smash, Animal Crossing, SMM2 just to list 3 off top of my head?
I think a lot of people are confusing their official in game clock time on Metroid Dread (which doesn’t include time for the parts of runs where you die since the save, or time spent looking at the map) with their actual time spent playing the game in total

Re: Kirby And The Forgotten Land Gets An Epic New Trailer
Agreed on the Odyssey vibes
Hope they will have the good mix of difficulties from that game too - a handful of very tough challenges with these abilities could be fun!

@topher6490 @ReWane coincidentally they just now confirmed Windjammers 2 for 20 Jan. I’m looking forward to it too!
