Remember the 64Mate? It's an all-in-one Nintendo 64 storage add-on that was announced last December for Kickstarter. If you missed our original post, it's basically a compartment that can be attached to the underside of the console.
In an update on Twitter, the creators have announced the 64Mate is "stepping up" its game with 64DD compatibility and additional tower stacking. In fact, they're even calling out other tower of power competitors.
The 64Mate can house video upscalers, capture devices and games. If you would like to learn more about this project as it's developed, you can sign up to the email updates.
What do you think of this super stack? Comment down below.

It's like a mini entertainment center! All you have to do is put your 50" TV on top and tah dah you'll have the Ultimate TV Entertainment Center! I can hardly contain my excitement!
Looks like an inefficient use of space
It looks like a bigger version of xbox series x and we all know what real Nintendo fans think of Microsoft designs.
The games should be displayed with the top of the cart facing forward, not the side, since people who buy those inexpensive labels probably enjoy knowing which game they're about to grab before they grab it.
I like the idea of stacking multiple game shelves under my N64, but I'm not backing a piece of plastic if it's not as convenient as picking a game from my shelf 5 feet away from the system.
LOL
Nintendo Series 64. 🤣
Stil bloody useless.
I love collecting useless stupid stuff tbh
So it can run 64 DD discs now? If so, it's very much worth buying now, considering how rare the real ones are...even if only one of the games for it is worth playing if you don't know Japanese...
Why do I just picture it getting taller and taller slowly after seeing it hit 4 stack lol
Today, I think I'll play the grey cartridge...
@KayFiOS Yeah, but I think its not for displaying a collection. Its more if you only have a handful of games (Which isnt too hard to look through) or setting aside the games you either play the most or the next ones you intend to beat/complete.
@EmmatheBest no, you can just stack an n64dd on it now
@Angelic_Lapras_King I'm more saying that even if I filled it with my favorites, I'd still shuffle through them trying to find the one I want to play. That's why those labels exist in the first place.
It's a box. It's just a box that attaches to the bottom of your console and you can put stuff in it. This required a kickstarter?
@somebread - Oh...well that's unfortunate. I'd pay good money for a 64DD clone that could work with an actual N64...
@Heavyarms55 Amen. I am crafty enough to build something like this out of scrap wood.
Go see bithead 1000's metal n64. It breathes fire and has a rotating logo. Maybe we should back those instead. And his videos are amazing!
But is it compatible with Sakurai's Hyper Neo Geo 64?
I would understand this if it came out when the N64 was released, but now I don't think its very relevant.
I have a small N64 library of 12 games, and this thing is already USELESS.
I can't even fit my entire tiny N64 library in this thing.
Its a Nostalgia cash grab a bad one at that
Also what exactly does this useless piece of sub Poundland tat actually COST
They keep Glossing over that.
@Angelic_Lapras_King
I only have a handfull of N64 games ( 12 ) and all of them wont fit in this waste of space.
You forgot to link the Tweet.

@Heavyarms55 Well, it's not JUST a box, it's a storage system AND a 64DD emulator/clone, so it could actually be pretty interesting for people owning or wanting to collect 64DD cartridges.
I could do with a mate to play N64 games with
What is absolutely ridiculous is that I could actually do with one of these.
@ThanosReXXX Oh wait really? I didn't realize that. My mistake! I thought it was just a fancy box to put your capture card and game cartridges in.
@Heavyarms55 It was just a storage system before, but now they've added the DD64 compability, as mentioned in the article.
@ThanosReXXX
Seems more like that it it wil now fit under the 64DD.
The actual Twiter mentions nothing about any 64DD emulation.
And the article still points out storage box.
@KitsuneNight Ah, damn, I misinterpreted DD64 compatibility as in "offering DD64 emulation", instead of "you can now also put your DD64 add-on on our storage tower"...
Sorry, @Heavyarms55, seems I was wrong, apparently. I guess I really wanted it to be true myself as well...
@ThanosReXXX Oh my god. XD Well things happen. lol
In my humble opinion this looks kinda stupid.
