I wanted to go back and replay L.A. Noire at some point and this re-release seems like as good occasion as any. Still, I'm torn now between Switch version and Xbox version. Features exclusive to Switch sound really cool and they fit the design of the game, but then again having a sizeable graphical upgrade on Xbox is tempting as well. The price might also play a big part in decision making.
I don't think that any FIFA fan thinks about buying the Switch just because the game will be there. Surely it's cool to have a fully-fledged portable version of the game, but I can bet FIFA on every other platform will outsell the Switch version.
I have to admit, these trailers present the game in a lot better way than reveal trailer and TV ads. You can see the variety of fighters and some customisation options, which should greatly affect gameplay. I'm really liking what I see here. Hope it will a good showcase for HD rumble as well.
@SanderEvers Can't quite agree with you first 3 recommendations.
1. "Start with a 8, 32 and 64GB console." Making multiple SKUs always adds to the confusion. That's why barely anyone bought the white model, and that's why both Xbox One and PS4 launched with only one version.
2. "Make the 8GB console 150 euro's, with no gamepad." Agree that the pricing was too high but selling the WiiU without a gamepad would make that version dead on arrival. Why would you get rid of your biggest selling point that would make some games not compatible with the system they were designed for?
3. "Allow 2 GamePads to connect to a single Wii U." That would be cool, but I think that it comes down to pricing. For games that would potentially support/require 2 gamepads you would have to buy a costly standalone gamepad on top of the console and game purchase. Can't see any developer willing to take a risk and design a game for multiple gamepads.
Plannning on getting the game at launch in EU. DLC does not seem like a big deal really, and does not impact my buying choices. It's a way to squeeze more money from players but the descriptions make it look like the content is not substantial.
WiiU is getting GBA games, and 3DS is getting SNES games. Somebody at Nintendo likes to watch the world burn, haha Nothing to complain really, but I whish some of the VC stuff was a cross-buy. I already have Super Metroid and Super Mario World on WiiU, but would love to get them on the go.
As we now know the price for both Oculus and HTC Vive, it's pretty safe to assume that these devices will have little to no impact on console sales. That's a PC-enthusiast tech for now, and it will remain like that for a while. Not sure about PlayStation VR, the price will be very important, but if it will be higher than the console itself, the NX will probably get more attention. A matter of spending significant amount of money on an accessory with very limited library of games vs the whole new system that gives access to gaming not available on any other platform.
I do think Splatoon deserves best multiplayer just because how innovative it is. Also, CD Projekt RED absolutely deserves best developer this year. They not only made an outstanding game but also were great with post-launch support. Witcher 3 could never run on Wii U, but maybe they will do their next game also on NX?
@Kaze_Memaryu Of course I'm not developing the game, so I'm just guessing. Maybe it's because Skullgirls only had to handle one small area at a time, and Indivisible, from what I see, is a game where you travel through the levels and encounter many various enemies along the way? It's a bit of a shame, but it's good they are open to bringing the game to Nintendo platform at all.
I think it's reasonable. If they want to get it running at 60fps, it might be really hard to make the game for Wii U while developing for systems which much higher specs.
And I know this is (partially) 2D game but they also can be very demanding. Look at something like Child of Light, which had severely lowered resolution for its Wii U version, or an Xbox platformer Ori and the Blind Forest which was visually stunning and still struggled at the most intesive moments to keep the framerate rock-solid.
Can't really buy them physically, and definitely not for that price, so I'll most likely go with Wii U release. I imagine it will simply be played with stylus holding the gamepad sideways. That's ok, although I'd prefer 3DS re-release of them, but that's probably not going to happen.
None of this will probably happen and I think the guy realizes that. But that's a great document that he can display when applying for a design job at some developer. I don't know if the author makes games or not but this shoes dedication and a lot of thought put into the game's design, regardless if the changes are actually for better or worse.
You may call that censorship (because it is) but the new costumes seem far more reasonable for anyone to wear. It's still not armour that's gonna protect anything, but at least it's not going to make you uncomfortable during the fight, I guess. Unless there are some special underbood and cleavage combo attacks, I find original outfits to be ridiculous.
I've played it a little bit last weekend at a local gaming convention and was pleasantly surprised how good it looks and how smooth it runs. Still feels very much like the original Xenoblade in terms of gameplay but with far richer presentation.
Pleasantly surprised there's a trial version of Project Zero. Since the physical edition is already sold-out here (world is a cruel place) I'll probably go with digital if the first levels will make a positive impression. Only need to delete... well, pretty much most of the stuff I have on internal memory. Or maybe it's time to get an HDD?
Either way, I'll be getting the NN3DS version of Binding of Isaac... finally.
Sure, it's a shame it's not on Wii U but there are two reasons for that. One is obviously the business reason. Rare is owned by Microsoft so they only develop for them. The other reason is technical. There are a number of Xbox 360 exclusives in the collection, including some N64 games like Perfect Dark or Banjo, which in Rare Replay are emulated on Xbox One from their Xbox 360 releases, just like Viva Piñata. Making Wii U version would require to port each and every of these games from 360 to Wii U. And here comes the business again: it's just not worth it.
Europe please! Muramasa is one of the games I just have to play before I'm done with Wii, and it's been increasingly difficult to get it for a fair price or at all.
NX could potentially support VR in the future but I don't see it being designed around it. They want to show the system next year so they already have more or less finalized design for its inner tech and peripherals. I would rather expect Nintendo going really heavy on cross-platform features between NX and New 3DS or whatever handheld device is going to replace it. I think they are going to once again change the controller to something unusual.
There's some talk of NX being some sort of hybrid, maybe its controller will be the next Nintendo handheld at the same time? That would be interesting.
I just don't get it why some companies have problems releasing their games worldwide, in 2015, the digital age. Binding of Isaac: Rebirth has also launched on Xbox One (region-free console) and it's also not available in European store, so it's not only Nintendo platforms. I'm really disapointed as I was hoping to play this on my New 3DS.
It might come out in 2016 but not in the middle of the year. It's hard to imagine Nintendo announcing the console presumably in June (at E3) and launching it just month later. And if they were pitching the system to third parties at this year's E3, well, it takes more than a year to produce a big scale game, especially for an unknown system.
I think that Nintendo has some good content this year, they just failed to show it during Digital Event. Too much time was focused on small scale games like the AC Home Designer or that controversial Metroid spin-offs, while the Treehouse and trailers show awesome stuff like SMT x FE, Yoshi's Wooly World, Fast Racing Neo, there's incredible Fatal Frame trailer and Devil's Third I think is in schedule. So yeah, the problem was not content and Nintendo should not apologise for it. Iwata seems to acknowledge that what they showed at Digital Event was not the stuff people wanted to see during the main presentation.
While the Digital Event was disappointing, the Treehouse sessions and new trailers they didn't show during the event are really awesome. Have you seen gampleay from FAST Racing Neo? It's insane!
I don't know how it plays but I wonder about the not so impressive graphics. They have to independently render two screens at once, both at 60fps, maybe that's why the visuals are not like stuff we are used to on Wii U.
The date for Splatoon console bundle is kind of werid. Usually things like that go on sale on the launch day of the bundled software. Maybe there's some news coming to E3 about Splatoon that will make people without Wii U go and grab the bundle.
I preordered the squid bundle and girl amiibo like a month before release, and thank God for that. The girl is now either sold-out or goes for at least double the price.
@Pinkman Yeah, I mean, I still win a lot of matches, and those I lose I feel I deserved it but it felt painful to go against Kraken trio with a team of low-level players. Then again, you have to know how to make the best use of secondaries and abilities so it's not just about unlocks. As you go you get better at playing the game, and it's a lot of playtime till level 15-20. By the way, is there a level cap?
@outburst Oh, yeah, Bubbler is great, but I still change loadouts just to try different styles and see which suits me the best. I wonder if there is something like custom loadout later in the game where you can pick abilities and weapons independently?
I think I'd like to see patched is the matchmaking. I had no trouble finding people to play with but it would be good if matchmaking was better at matching people of similar level. It really shows when level 20 players play with, say, level 5 players. Higher levels have access to better gear so it messes up the balance a little bit.
Splatoon is a great fun and surprisingly both online and in singleplayer. I have not yet played the battle dojo but the rest is awesome. The graphics, the music, the characters. I hope that additional modes and maps will be made available soon.
@firstnesfan Fair enough. But GT was designed for PS3, just like Forza 4 was desinged for X360, and just like Mario Kart 8 was designed for Wii U. Each of these titles looks and runs great on their respective systems but to port them over would require some serious work because each system uses very different architecture. They clearly were building Project CARS for PC and new consoles share a lot of similiarities with modern PC's. They probably didn't think about how their code would translate onto Wii U and now it's too late to achieve similar effect on all systems. Even if they downgrade the visuals it will still run at 30 fps, which is half of what ideal performance on PC/X1/PS4 is.
I understand why everybody is angry but quality of Project Cars on Wii U would be seriously compromised. Worse graphics, worse framerate and worse controls than on other current gen platforms. Maybe it's for the better. Hey, at least they don't say something like "haha, screw Nintendo" but look to the future to support the next console with what can become the best version of the game. And every Wii U fan will eventually buy NX anyway.

Not gonna happen, because he's not that popular amongst Nintendo fans, and he is, you know, a chunk of meat with no skin, bleeding constantly, can't see it being a good fit for Smash.
I'd love to see Shovel Knight, though. And Rayman, and Bayonetta, and ... there's so many to choose from. Hell, I would even like to see a boy from Little Inferno
I upgraded to New 3DS so I'm ok with it releasing exclusively on the most recent hardware but it seems strange that a 2D game with simple graphics can't run on standard 3DS while some visually impressive 3D games can (like Smash Bros).
