Re: Nintendo's Implementation of Cross-Buy is Surprisingly Generous

Beechbone

Yeah, seems like a hell of an exploit. Nintendo should finally do a reliable profile system that makes sense. Also, speaking of cross-buy, I would really love to see something like cloud saves, where I can play OlliOlli on the go, and when I get back home, I can continue from the same spot on Wii U.

I'm loving the game but have you experienced any stability issues? The game is randomly crashing for me once in a while. It's not a deal breaker but it's probably the only game that ever did that to me.

Re: Harmonix Explains Why Rock Band 4 Isn’t Coming to Wii U, But Doesn't Rule it Out

Beechbone

I have my dlc and instruments on Xbox so I'm going with the Xbox One version, but it would be great for Wii U to have such a game on the platform. I think it would cater more to newcomers because majority of the series fans come from other platforms. But Rock Band is a great asset and its presence on Wii U would not isolate Nintendo's console from the rest. I hope it will eventually come out on Wii U.

Re: Review: Pokémon Shuffle (3DS eShop)

It's okay to play twice a day on my way to and back from work. Not the best match three I've seen but they made a good effort in designing the mechanics and how they tie-in with the Pokemon.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X Will Feature An "Outstanding" Voice Cast

Beechbone

@BlatantlyHeroic Sure! But it's always cool to have options.

@Quorthon That's really a cultural stuff. It's not like they act it to sound fake or something. This is how Japanese people actually talk. It's sometimes hard for Western audiences to evaluate acting of Japanese actors because it's so different than what we're used to.

Re: Video: Donkey Kong Country Returns...To Wii U

Beechbone

This is just a digital re-release and nothing more. I remember playing it couple of years ago with wiimote + nunchack and honestly I don't know what's the big deal with "bad controls" in this game. I admit that it controls rather horrible with wiimote only but if you're using the nunchuck it plays just fine.

Also, these videos are pointless. When Metroid hits eShop in a week's time, let me predict what's gonna happen. Is it going to be a different game? Will there be anything changed or added or enhanced in the eShop version? The answer is: NO.

Re: Sonic Boom Wii U And 3DS Both Stall Outside Of The UK Multiformat Top 40

Beechbone

I guess the way to commercial success is just making kick-ass games, and Sega does not seem to get it. They should stop trying so hard to reinvent Sonic and just do a super polished 2D platformer that relies on tried ideas. When they nail the "classic" Soinc kind of game, they should start experimenting with it little by little.

Re: Digital Foundry Pins Down Mario Kart 8's Resolution and Framerate

Beechbone

I was wondering why Nintendo was showing this aliased 720p screenshots all the time and here's the answer. 720p with no AA. I couldn't care less about resolutiongate so it doesn't affect my thoughts on the game. Still getting it on day one. And kudos to Nintendo that they didn't lie with promotional screenshots like almost everybody else does.

Re: Upcoming Child of Light Patch to Rename Difficulty Settings

Beechbone

Hmm, that's kinda strange. So, is the game too easy on "normal"? I usually do my first playthrough of most games on "normal" as I think this is kind of "as intented" and not too hard but not too easy setting. I'm gonna get Child of Light in upcoming weeks and when looking at "casual" vs "expert" I feel like I'm fitting somewhere in between in RPGs. On the other hand the first "Gears of War" on "casual" was a pretty big challenge so naming conventions are really not worth much.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Bundle Dips Below £200 In The UK, Includes Additional Free Game Offer

Beechbone

If Nintendo doesn't ship some serious numbers on both the game and the system then it might be game over. I really hope that MK8 will get a lot of press coverage and great review scores for that damn Metacritic to go sky-high and get attention of all the undecided folks. I really want Wii U to succeed and to get more great games. I own Wii U since launch and already played some great titles on it, I'm very happy with the console and don'y want to see it go away. The only way we can shape the industry is to vote with our wallets what games should be made.

Re: Review: Child of Light (Wii U eShop)

Beechbone

So it has Off-TV play, correct? And it runs 60fps like on other systems? And, could someone clarify how the co-op works in terms of controls on Wii U? The review says the second player uses Wii Remote in a similiar way to Super Mario Galaxy, but it does not support motion controls. So, do you move the pointer with D-pad or Nunchuck or what?
