At one point during DQ11 the hero was discovering some major personal revelations yet he was just stood there with zero expression on his face, saying nothing. It really brings out of the story when you’re reminded of the silent hero trope when the trope should not be used. Of course I didnt expect him to just start talking but I think the whole silent hero trope needs to go.
Imagine if Final Fantasy VII had Cloud be a silent hero? Being a silent hero adds nothing to the game, only removes things.
I hated Super Paper Mario for having an unskippable 30 minute intro (or whatever it was, it felt like 30 minutes). I was so bored with my new Mario game that I found the nearest save point once o could finally start playing and turned it off.
Not a huge thing, but I’d like to hide games on the eshop that I have already purchased
The Wii eshop had a list of publishers that have published games on the eshop that you can see the rest of their games on their page. The Switch has the same list of games by publisher, but you can’t just go to that publishers page. You have to find a game they published first to then go to that publishers page.
I downloaded /pre-orded a bunch of games using Game Vouchers with the bonus coins and 15% off eshop cards.
Mario & Luigi Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Paper Mario Thousand Year door Pikmin 3 Pikmin 4 Kirby return to dreamland Pokemon legends Arceus Pokemon brilliant diamond Zelda skyward sword Dragon quest XI Yoshi Crafted World Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze Kirby Star allies Pokken Tournament
@-wc- Kirby’s Pinball Land is the best pinball game on Game Boy. Sure it’s not realistic to actual real life pinball, but it does well as a videogame. The other Pinball games on Game Boy that try to be more realistic just as fun.
I’ve downloaded six games with it now and pre-ordered another two using vouchers and Curry’s code. I have another two or four games to get before the offer expires. I’m not expecting this deal to return in the Switch’s lifespan so I have to take advantage of it now while I can.
My only trouble is that it takes two hours or whatever for the bonus coins to go onto your account. Which is a minor nitpick I suppose.
Nobody is going to want to pay for the likes of Donkey Kong Jr Math as an individual game. I like the NSO for getting games to players that they wouldn’t have given a chance otherwise; although yes Donkey Kong Jr Math isn’t a glowing endorsement of that.
Even just counting the games I would have brought on the Virtual Console, the NSO pays for itself by being a better deal. I would have paid more for VC games per year than I do the NSO subscription cost, and that’s just no good for me. Plus I get to save money with the game tickets. I just pre-ordered the new Zelda and Mario & Luigi for about £28 each rather than the £50 they were going for at standard cost thanks to the bonus gold coins and curry’s 15% discount on eshop vouchers
@Mgalens The NSO games are an incentive to pay for the service. They’re not going to reduce sales of the service by taking away the incentive to do so.
“Ownership” only becomes an issue when the Switch is at the end of its life and the service is on the verge of being shut down. At that time the Switch 2 will have been active for a few years with the same or an equivalent service. No you won’t be able to play NSO games on Switch 1 five - ten years from now but the games aren’t going anywhere. Nintendo will always be pushing them on us in some form or another.
100+ NES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color and SNES games for one year is worth the cost of this collection which only has one Game Boy game and one NES game.
This is why NSO is better. You get more games than buying them separately or in collections. You could have one year’s subscription to NSO for the cost of this collection, and no, you’re not going to want to keep playing these for long.
Is Nintendo preventing other publishers from releasing their GBA games on NSO or are they just not interested? It’s only been Nintendo published games so far.
Couldn’t enjoy Breath of the Wild. I found the game confusing and clunky. It was the prototype for the true game Tears of the Kingdom. Even after I played TotK for a long time then went back to BotW, having gained a new appreciation for the style of game, I just wasn’t having fun with it. And I actually didn’t notice reused maps in TotK, but granted I gave up on BotW so it didn’t bother me if there was a lot of reused locations.
BotW should never have existed and Nintendo should have continued working on it so TotK was the only game instead of there being two.
By the time the Switch’s lifespan comes to an end, people will be playing NSO games on their Switch 2 which hopefully retains the same games as on Switch and doesn’t have to restart the catalogue.
You can’t play your Wii, Wii U or 3DS VC games on Switch and who plays those consoles anymore? Those VC games are as good as lost if you don’t play the console they’re on, and the 3DS has too small of a screen compared to Switch so it’s no longer fun to play (VC games don’t fill the whole screen on 3DS). I did like the smoothing filter of GBA games on Wii U which is better than the Switch’s filter.
VC was miles better since you could pick and choose which games you wanted unlike this drip feed that some random employee thinks everyone wants.
Nope. I’d be spending a whole lot more with a Virtual Console per year compared to paying for the expansion pass. SNES games were £8, N64 were £10 I believe. Four VC games cost me more than the expansion pass, so where’s the benefit in a VC? There isn’t any.

Re: SNK Getting Ready For The King Of Fighters "Big" 30th Anniversary
They’re still releasing characters for KoFXV. They wouldn’t do so if they were also going to announce a sequel.

You said Korean Drone, I read Korone.
And then was disappointed it wasn’t.
Re: Video: Marvel vs. Capcom: Fighting Collection 'Clash Of Super Heroes' Trailer
It would have been perfect if they included the Avengers and X-Men arcade games and X-Men 2 Clone Wars from the Sega Genesis.
Those aren’t Capcom games though. Capcom did make some Marvel games on SNES. They should have been included.

So a typical Detective Conan episode.
Re: Capcom Wants To Revive All Of Its Legacy Fighting Games On Modern Platforms
@NintendoWife Nintendo 64 couldn’t handle SF3. SF4 came to 3DS. SF5 was a PlayStation console exclusive; not even on XBOX.
@Tempestryke I expect more SFII games to come to NSO at some point.

I just completed the demo of Pikmin 4 this week, now to continue playing in the main game.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's GBA Library With Three More Titles
Nintendo, with these regular NSO games, you are really spoiling us.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's GBA Library With Three More Titles
No, there were untranslated VC games on the Wii. Old Nintendo did not translate games either.

@BLAZINOAH yes I remember reading about that

I had a FFVIII Gunblade designed as a letter opener. I never got it out in public and kept it in its box until I gave it to my nephew.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's NES Library With Seven More Games
I don’t care much for the games but I like that they’re added even if it just completes Nintendo’s back catalogue a bit more.

No?
I’ve been losing playtime when viewing by most played with some games inexplicably dropping down in the list at random for no reason.
Re: Feature: 10 Game Boy Deep Cuts That Aren’t On Nintendo Switch Online

Re: Feature: 10 Game Boy Deep Cuts That Aren’t On Nintendo Switch Online
@BANJO It’s not worth it. Get a Game Boy Advance SP instead if you want to play old Game Boy cartridges.
Re: Feature: 10 Game Boy Deep Cuts That Aren’t On Nintendo Switch Online
While I do welcome the more obscure unknown titles coming to NSO, there are still many prominent games still yet to come to the service.
I was wanting to have an extensive library of games on each console supported, but it seems we are out of luck in that regard.
I can only hope that the Switch’s successor retains the NSO games library instead of completely scrapping it.

Now can we have some Sega Genesis games next? It’s been too long. Or better yet, Sega 32X and Sega CD games.

@OldManHermit UN Squadron is a licensed game so very unlikely to return.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Super Bomberman (SNES)
America has the worst imo. I voted Japan as it’s the most chaotic and exciting, just like the game.

There should really have been another one or two NSO games, even if they are throwaway Mario titles such as GB Mario & Yoshi and Alleyway.
Re: Poll: Do You Want To See 'Super Mario Bros. Wonder 2'?
@Spider-Kev Super Mario Bros. 4 was the subtitle for Super Mario World in Japan.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's Game Boy & GBC Library With Three More Mario Titles

@KingMike Those aren’t Mario games so are excluded from MAR10 celebrations.
