Re: Rumour: Switch Online GameCube Releases Might Have Been Leaked

Bass_X0

@charliecarrot not really. Not when there are players who have been demanding Nintendo to make the NSO games available separately. If you don’t want to subscribe, there’s the remaster. If you don’t want to buy that and it does come to NSO, you can play it on NSO.

And I would like most of the first party Nintendo games to eventually come to NSO if they do not have licensing issues. Of course, I know some never will no matter how long the service is supported for.

@RoboCube

“ put some actual GameCube games people want”

People do want Fire Emblem. It’s quite a rare expensive game to buy the disc now so not feasible for players other than the most hardcore of collectors

“ put some of the better multiplayer ones I mean the whole point to this is playing it online with others”

It’s actually not in regards to NSO. There have been no emphasis for multi player games on NSO since it started.

“ Prime 4 just came out why not Prime 2?”

They would prefer you buy Prime 4.

“ You got goldeneye on n64 why not add Nightfire?”

Gearbox developed Nightfire and EA published it so no relation to Rare’s GoldenEye on N64. Nintendo pushed to get Goldeneye on NSO because it was one of their big name games. Nightfire wasn’t. EA hasn’t shown any interest in supporting the NSO and Nintendo can’t make them or release games on their behalf. Nightfire would fall under regular licensing issues. Nintendo was willing to pay the license fee for GoldenEye but that doesn’t open up the license to everyone else.

“ The GameCube always had a small library but it's ridiculous how little content Switch 2 offers for it”

It’s still relatively a new addition and they aren’t going to drop a lot of games in rapid succession due to how large the games are. The NES has had seven games in one day, but don’t expect the same for Gamecube which is about one a month.

“ my phone can play GC fine”

Publishers need to go through official channels to release games on NSO, not resort to an illegal ROM site. Each game added costs the publisher money to do so and GameCube games require extra attention to make the emulation is up to standard, and even then some players are still finding flaws with the emulation.

“ are they really gonna wait till Summer just to add Sunshine to Switch 2”

It’s expected to be released on Mario Day, March 10 (MAR 10)

@OldGamer999 that would be called a remake/remaster and can be found on the eshop not the NSO, which is only for straight ports. Stretching games to widescreen just looks horrible for some games that do so. I prefer to see more of the stage past the regular screen when they do wide screen like in Sonic Origins. But that isn’t what the NSO is for.

@OldGamer999

With NSO, I’ll take quantity over quality.

I would prefer the equivalent of one game every week regardless of quality as there will be an actual good game sometimes and even some of the poor or average games can be fun to try out at no extra cost that you wouldn’t pay for otherwise.

As opposed to only one game being released once every two or three months but is guaranteed to be a good game.

Plus I like to see the collection grow on each app.

Re: Reminder: Virtual Boy For Switch And Switch 2 Are Available On The My Nintendo Store

@NintendoWife Do you really think Nintendo isn’t going to bring over the NSO to the Switch 3? It will be fifteen years from now before the servers close if they do something completely different for their next console and don’t bring over downloads from Switch 1 & 2. So there’s no point worrying right now that you will no longer have access to your games in 2040.

@Don You’re really not paying attention to the state of the economy right now are you? When a single NeoGeo Pocket Color game costs $7 or $8 on the eShop, there is no way Nintendo would include all the Virtual Boy games on a physical cartridge bundled with the accessory and still keep the whole thing under $99.

Re: Nintendo's Switch App For Mobile Has Been Updated, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

I was thinking how I’d like Game Boy Camera to come to NSO and that it would use the Switch App on your phone to function as the camera, although yes, it would still only show Game Boy Camera quality photos in the game. The game would be connected to the app to synchronise so that the game shows what you are taking a picture of with your phone in real time.

But if it never happens, no matter.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's NES And Game Boy Library With Four More Titles

@babybilly Nintendo still wants games to release in 2027 and later. Plus some games will never come to the service due to licensing and rights issues. No, they are not going to pay big money just to obtain the rights to release an old game on the service. Plus some publishers just aren’t interested in supporting the service.

I would ideally like a minimum of one game every week from any supported console so four games being released in one update is fine to me. A little frustrating that the update came almost a month after the previous update but still, November didn’t get overlooked after all.
