@Ganon821 You WILL be subjected to being able to play hundreds of classic games for a low cost each year. You will NOT be permitted to waste your money buying overpriced games individually.

@conditionals it’s funny, I don’t like any filter for the Capcom Fighting Collection games, but the Neo Geo games do have a filter that looks good to me. I wish CFC could have a filter like the NeoGeo games.

I think it would be cool if they were able to add new sprites and characters from other games into Alpha 3 that were not in any previous version.

@garfreek I think this release was to coincide with today’s system update. Also I think Nintendo would consider Gamecube games to have more “weight” than other releases, so a month with a Gamecube release may be light on games on other platforms. Also also, as sucky as it is, it’s not the first time we’ve experienced a month with only two games released.

The phrase “and that’s a good thing” has been used too often following a bad statement by games journalists that regular readers online have been accustomed to have a negative reaction before they even read the article. It’s not a phrase good games journalists should use if they wish to be taken seriously.

@AnonyQ The way I see it, Nintendo has no control over third party publishers choosing which games they want to be submitted to be included, or if they don’t want to support the service at all. The only exception being Goldeneye 007.

I also believe that publishers that want to support the service for years don’t want to release all of their known good games quickly as then they would have nothing but bad games to release later.

It has been frustrating though to see companies support Virtual Console since 2006 and not release their best games by the time the service came to an end.

@rjejr but it is functioning as intended. It’s just going to take up a lot of space when they release a lot of games for it

@DollyrotsFan1 cross out all the licensed games. Those are definitely not going to happen. Goldeneye 007 was a special case that Nintendo had an invested interest to get onto the service.

There’s that “modern audience” getting in the way of things again. Sometimes all you need is a good fun small, simple and cheap game. I’d also accept the Gamecube version on NSO.

I think the equivalent of one game per week on any console is acceptable. Some months go weeks without a new game then drop four at once. But in reality even that is too much for them. Sometimes they only bother with two games a month.

@Member_the_game and in that time no new games have been released for the other supported consoles so if you don’t have a Switch 2 (I do), you’ll be missing out on new games.

While I do think one GameCube game is better than five average NES, Game Boy and SNES games, I do also want those older games too. I was hoping Nintendo would support the NSO with renewed vigor with the launch of the NS2 but it seems not.

@Michael0916 you can play Nintendo Switch Online games online with your Nintendo Switch.

You can’t play the GameCube games online.

And personally, I only ever have two consoles in active use; currently PlayStation 5 and Switch, soon to be Switch 2. While I do still enjoy playing retro games, I prefer to play retro games on my latest consoles. I could play Wind Waker HD in a few minutes on Wii U, but I just don’t care to play Wii U anymore. I will be playing it on Switch 2 next weekend instead.

I like Duck Detective but it doesn’t take long to complete.

I hope it doesn’t take a year for the rest of the games announced to come to the service.

@cvrator no, A and B were only used for the character creator then everyone were referred to as men, women, boys and girls during the actual game. Game Journalists apparently don’t care to play games beyond the first few minutes

Plus the interview isn’t non-existant, it was just taken down. A lot of places covered the interview and would still show what was said.

@cvrator it was a jangling the keys moment just to please the games journalists in DQIII. The developers said they didn’t really care to do so, but only did to cash in on an American trend and gain popularity points. Then that interview got taken down. The rest of the game reverted back to regular masculine / feminine identities and pronouns.

Just completed this one. It was okay for a short story but I felt it was a little too expensive for what it is, however I did appreciate everything being fully voiced.

The trial and error really killed the momentum of the first game for me.

It’s not really trial and error. The clues are there if you look for them and work out how they relate to each other. The hints do help if you don’t want to dedicate much time and exploration thinking about things.
