@Freek being able to play N64 games portably and having states are good features only the NSO can provide. Plus I like having all my games stored digitally so I don’t have to carry a bag or case around with them in.
I’d rather have a lot of new courses that look basic for a low cost that we are getting than to have a few courses that look good or costs a lot more for the 48 new courses. They do look simplistic but they don’t look bad to me. Just plain and basic.
I played through 50cc on both cups last night just to familiarise myself with them. They’re okay for an unexpected “free” addition to the NSO expansion service. I’m not a fan of the outright changes to the classic courses. I was confused by Choco Mountain as they removed the wall by the start, added a tunnel section and also a flying section.
@SteamEngenius Yes, why would they currently be showing more support for a service that people paid extra for with newly added consoles that only have a few games available and are trying to entice more people to pay for the expanded service over the NES and SNES which already have many games added… it is indeed quite a mystery.
I have Hard attacks on Y and B in Street Fighter games instead of L and R.
And for Mega Man X, I assign dash to R so I can dash, jump and shoot at the same time. Dash being on A makes it very awkward to press Y, B and A simultaneously.
It’s Mario and has been since 1983. Mario and Luigi are collectively referred to as the Mario brothers.
Doug Walker and his brother Rob Walker would be collectively referred to as the Walker brothers, not the Doug brothers.
(I’m using him as an example since he caused a stink about the name years ago.)
Warner Bros. is also another good example. It was founded by four brothers from the Warner family and that’s how it got its name.
The Mario movie didn’t invent or confirm the surname. A name in front of “Bros.” makes the name the brothers surname. That’s just how it works. Now it’s possible that Miyamoto did not realise what calling the game Mario Bros. would do, and back in 1983 Mario’s popularity wasn’t anything like it would become later. But really that’s how the naming structure works.
I don’t see this as a gender-swapped Dr. Robotnik. His potential daughter sure. An actual female version of Dr. Robotnik would look like the Trunchbull from Matilda.
@Paraka I’m saying without Sakurai there is no Smash Bros. Sakurai stepping down would have been the perfect opportunity for someone to step up to keep the game being supported without him but that isn’t happening. A large game such as Smash Bros should not rest entirely upon one person. What if Sakurai had an unexpected accident or illness years ago - no more Smash Bros?
I always choose starters based on how their final form looks. I can’t choose until I see them. I’ll guess Fuecoco will have the best looking final evolved form. Fire types usually do.
@mikegamer I prefer having the save state options on NSO. I like playing for like ten minutes at a time for some games. I use save states so I don’t have to wait until I can save again in-game.
@WaveBoy this is pretty average for games from 1994, not horrific. There are actual horrific games from back then that make this one look genuinely good.
@bigcalsworld the baby bird is no problem if you remember the golden rules of exploring everywhere and talking to everyone you see and doing everything they tell you to do. See the store clerk, get the baby bird. See the man in the bid village telling you about Laura, go find Laura. See the bird on its own outside the village, go talk to it just because it stands out; that’s Laura.
Isn’t it deadnaming Commander James Stephanie Sterling to refer to them as Jim? I thought people were against deadnaming in the modern day. They have shown disgust and displeasure to be referred to with male pronouns.

Come on, Diddy Kong Racing!

Re: Random: Is Miyamoto's Most Famous Quote Not His After All?
Duke Nukem Forever should be the absolute flawless game of all time if the quote was true.
Re: Review: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 1 - A 'Safe' Start To The 48-Track DLC Pack
48 new courses is not B team effort though. It was a quantity over quality though.

Re: Three Sega Genesis Games Have Been Added To Nintendo Switch Online's Expansion Pack
I was hoping for Sonic 2 & Knuckles to be released as a special version.

Re: Pokémon Is Airing A One-Hour Anime Special For The 25th Anniversary
I like to think that humans in Pokémon don’t age and evolve like Pokemon do. So Ash can stay a child for many years.
Re: Feature: 5 Accessibility Features That Every Game Should Have
All games should have font select and font size select. Sometimes text is way too tiny in some games.
Re: Feature: 5 Accessibility Features That Every Game Should Have
I’ve been button mapping since the SNES.

Re: F-Zero X Joins Nintendo Switch Online's Expansion Pack Later This Week
Next release BS F-Zero 2 on SNES please. That game has never officially been rereleased or ever released outside of Japan.
Re: Konami Announces Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection For Switch
@Axelay71 Also Bomberman too please Konami
Re: Konami Announces Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection For Switch
@Rats You don’t jump, you simply walk across the one block gap.
Re: Konami Announces Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection For Switch
Will buy in a sale. I hold little attachment to these games but I did have SNES Tournament Fighters which I had fun with.
Re: Classic Puzzler 'Qix' Comes To Switch This Week
I prefer Volfied personally. Which is like Qix but from a few years later.
Re: Gallery: Here's Another Look At The Switch Online Version Of F-Zero X

Re: Best Batman Games On Nintendo Systems
I rate the Telltale games very highly in terms of story and characterisation.
Re: SNK "Looking Into" Official English Release Of Card Fighters 2
@Greatluigi It’s not as good as the NGPC games.

Re: Zelda: Majora's Mask Cutscene On Switch Apparently "More Accurate To N64" Than Wii Virtual Console Emulation
@Neoicelord Never played it but I would if it came to NSO.
Re: Zelda: Majora's Mask Cutscene On Switch Apparently "More Accurate To N64" Than Wii Virtual Console Emulation
We need a new game added weekly. Quantity over quality. We will get the quality games still and a whole bunch of others.
Add Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, TurboGrafx, TurboGrafx CD, Master System, Game Gear, 32X and Sega CD support as well.
Re: Nintendo Appears To Have Improved Switch Online's N64 Emulation
@Joriss I’d rather have SNES Killer Instinct. Perhaps the two could be released on the same day?
Re: Nintendo Appears To Have Improved Switch Online's N64 Emulation
@NinChocolate I think they would have fixed the issue anyway even if fans hadn’t complained but of course fans were going to complain.
Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask Now Available On Switch Online's Expansion Pack
@FishyS They did sell it separately on Wii and Wii U.
Re: Random: These Sausages Could Imply The Existence Of A Third Mario Brother
Stanley from Donkey Kong 3 should be related to Mario and Luigi. I’m thinking a cousin maybe.
Re: Soapbox: Two Ace Attorneys Are Trapped On 3DS eShop, So It's About Time For A New Trilogy
@Ralizah the worst case IMO is Turnabout Storyteller. I’m not Japanese so much of it was lost on me.
Re: SNK "Looking Into" Official English Release Of Card Fighters 2
@Greatluigi The NGPC games are better than the DS games.
Re: Random: We Need To Talk About That Street Fighter 6 Logo, Capcom
@Paraka you’re optimistic to assume there will be another Smash game.
Re: 'Capcom Fighting Collection' Brings An Arcade Exclusive Home After 26 Years
@dr-gorgo good thing I like milk then.
Do you also complain when arcade archives releases a different arcade game every week?
Re: Capcom Will Share More Street Fighter 6 News This Summer
@RadioHedgeFund That’s why you get a pro controller or whatever. I use a SN-16 Bitdo controller.
Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask Joins Switch Online's N64 Library Next Week
@blindsquarel Do you also complain about Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime and other subscription based streaming services?

Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask Joins Switch Online's N64 Library Next Week
@UglyCasanova so you prefer Wand of Gamelon to Majora’s Mask. It’s still a Zelda game.
Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask Joins Switch Online's N64 Library Next Week
@RubyCarbuncle it’s only just started. Give it a chance.
Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask Joins Switch Online's N64 Library Next Week
@blindsquarel You can save anytime on the NSO Majora’s Mask due to save states.
Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask Joins Switch Online's N64 Library Next Week
@SpaceboyScreams So basically the same as Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime, HBO etc with tv shows and movies.
Re: Poll: Will Mario Kart 8's Deluxe Booster Course Pass Make You Buy The NSO Expansion Pack?
If you subscribe to Netflix, Amazon Prime or Disney Plus, do people similarly expect to always be able to watch their movies and shows there?
It’s just the same thing here too. NSO has more content for me than PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now as well.

What a bunch of jokers!
Re: Nintendo Direct To Air Tomorrow, Wednesday 9th February 2022
More NSO games please. Perhaps add Game Boy games too (including Color and Advance).
Re: Banjo-Kazooie Is Available Now On Switch Online's Expansion Pack
@Fizza it gets even better past the first world.
Re: Banjo-Kazooie Is Available Now On Switch Online's Expansion Pack
@tabris95 I prefer having save states on Switch Online. XBOX doesn’t have that does it?
Re: Devs Speak Out Against Crunch Culture At LEGO Star Wars Developer TT Games
