I'd love an arcadey on-rails shooter like SF64 was. They could basically make a level pack for that game and I'd be satisfied. I just don't see it as being feasible these days, though- no way could they get away with releasing a game than can technically be completed within an hour.

I love that they used Wrinkly's ghost form for the statue. Statues in real life should be modelled on what the person would look like if they were a ghost.

I do wish they'd left it a neat surprise for folks in the first few showings, and I think people are generally pretty well-behaved about movie spoilers so it would probably be kept quiet enough for those avoiding spoilers for the first few weeks after release. Can't deny how excited it made me to see him on that poster though.

@gcunit TMR uses magnets instead of physical resistance to detect movement in the analogue stick, eliminating the chief cause of controller drift. If you're familiar with Hall Effect sticks, it is essentially a more advanced version of that, providing better precision than Hall does.

The final boss music is a particular favourite of mine. There was absolutely no reason for Shimomura to go so hard, but who could stop her?

With this and the bike having a wacky robot name I'm reeeeaalllllyyyy nervous about the tone of the package. If Samus is the straight man in an oddball borderlands clown world it's going to be miserable. If she looks into the camera after something kerrrrazy happens I'm ripping the cart out and whipping it into the lake.

Gooey was also able to use copy abilities in Dreamland 3, so my guess is there's going to be some deep lore explanation that Dark Matter has taken over somehow and in true Kirby style it's going to get real gnasty at the end.

Funny you mention NGC, I've actually been re-reading old issues this past week! I would get ONM and NGC both, but personally NGC holds a lot more nostalgia for me. Do NOT watch it before playing the game- obviously there are spoilers, but it's also a vastly vastly compressed re-telling which makes it hard to follow even when you're familiar with it. It's much more of a spectacle anime- an "I remember that bit!" that covers all the major plot beats. Worth revisiting after playing if you really enjoy the game.

But with Animal Crossing on the horizon, I might need to temporarily skip over those ones... With only one switch in the household, there's no way I'm getting a look in for a few months lol.

I use a diceroller to pick a game from my list, give it one solid hour of play and then decide to Fin it or Bin it (with "fin" being defined as "I will play it at least once more", not necessarily a commitment to clearing it 100%). Got myself through over 120 games so far, many of which I wouldn't have gone for if I'd just been picking games for myself (rather than by the dice roll). I def recommend using dice, and surprising yourself!

Of course, my wife and I recently combined libraries, so my backlog accidentally just doubled... x_x
