@uhhhhhhhh "The best part of this is that almost every tutorial can be completely passed over or skipped through if you aren't interested. The 'R' button fast-forwards through text boxes and cutscenes at lightning pace, so there's always a way to keep things moving if you so choose."

Re: Review: LEGO Jurassic World (Wii U)

@Desy64 Well... I haven't tried co-op to be honest, but there are too many bug tbh... I play it in small instances so it doesn't bother me too much, but I've already had a bug where my camera was stuck revolving around some empty air, I'm guessing the character didn't load... So I'd ga with the review and go with a Xbox or Playstation version of the game if you can, and only get this one if you care about JP like me and can forgive the bugs... :/

Re: Rumour: Nintendo NX Shipping This Time Next Year, 20 Million Sales Targeted In First 12 Months

Atlantidas

The Wii U is not making them lose money anymore, so why would they rush production of the NX? If anything has taught them with the Wii U, it's that no software means no hardware sales!

So I'm guessing they'll announce the thing in 2016 and launch it in November 2017 so they'll have a lot of time to accumulate a decent amount of exclusives and third-party contracts for when it launches. If they do that, and blow people away (not like the E3 event! ) they could recover and come back swinging..

Re: Talking Point: Metroid Prime: Federation Force and Entitled Fury

Atlantidas

We wanted an awesome game in order to be proud of Nintendo. Just like we're all happy Splatoon is doing so well!
Mario Maker is super Nintendo focussed, Starfox is to niche, just like Xenoblade Chronicles, no Xbox or Playstation owner is going to buy a Wii U for those games... but a Metroid? Maybe..

The point is that as Nintendo-fans we're backed up in a corner, whether we like it or not, and it's cool to be proud of Nintendo for listening to us and bringing the quality like Mario Kart, Smash, Splatoon, Rainbow Curse, Tropical Freeze, Wooly World, etc.
So many great games these past year, but there's not much on the horizon it seems. Especially since we're all afraid the NX will steal all the good games away...
Metroid Prime: Federation Force, and Animal Crossing Party are called slaps to our collective faces because we feel like Nintendo is letting us down, precisely when we need it the most.
The Wii U is a huge flop commercially, and that sucks for us because it has so much potential!! I never felt like I was missing out when the GC and the Wii were out, but now I am. Both Xbox and Sony seem to have listened to their fans when we look at their remodelled services and announced games that were asked for ages ago!! Shenmue, FF7, 360 backwards compatibility... :/

I am sad and disappointed because I feel Nintendo is wasting its potential

Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force Producer Explains Why Samus Aran Isn't In The Game

Atlantidas

Okay, I eased up pretty quickly after seeing this game on Treehouse, but man everybody is now telling everyone that was upset to be glad with what we got... but we wanted a Metroid game that looked glamorous and atmospheric, exploring huge deserted space stations or planets... The problem is not this game, it looks fun, but it's that Nintendo doesn't seem to want to give us what we really want this year... We wanted to be proud Wii U owners, but it's kinda hard when Nintendo doesn't seem to stand behind us in the coming year...

Re: Reaction: Nintendo Dropped the Ball, Not the Mic, With Its Nintendo World Championships 2015 Qualifiers

Atlantidas

After thinking about it, I think I understand why the number of stores is this low and the game is such a dud...

Nintendo wants to present itself as the alternative, the game company that appeals to everyone, but in presenting itself casual they overshoot it (again) and the counter themselves.... E.g.:

  • They want everyone to compete so they go with a simple game, a 3DS game nobody bought (Hey! free advertising).
  • They don't want EVERYONE so they limit the amount of stores, what if nobody goes to the event when there are too many? (I see a pattern here with Amiibo!)

If Nintendo wants to present itself as THE alternative, they should EMBRACE the competitive scene.
Why? Because they are masters at making simple games that anyone can understand! We all know it and that's why we all hate the way this event is going!!! A lot of people play DOTA, but many more don't understand it. Everybody understands the endgame of Super Mario, Starfox...

I mean come on Nintendo, you say couch multiplayer is what (should) drive(s) people at home to play videogames. You know what the world championships are? One big frakkin couch multiplayer with hundreds of people watching!!

Imagine this:

  • Pikmin 3 bingocards multiplayer
  • Super Mario 3D World multiplayer
  • Super Smash brothers (why not throw in the Smash Tour instead of regular stock matches, to show people it can actually be fun!!
  • Donkey Konga 1 & 2 Tournaments
  • Zelda Crossbow Training
  • Splatoon tournaments
  • Starfox 3D speedrun
  • Mario Kart 8 (why is this not a thing???)
  • Mario Golf, Mario Party, Mario Tennis, Mario Superstrikers...

Jezus Nintendo, I'm in the mood to organise something like this on my own now....
