I'm sure it's fun and id like to play it but it just seems too light in content to warrant a $60 price tag. For $40 or less I'll definitely buy it though.
Ive often jumped immediately to "absolutely nothing would ever get me to go digitally" but I've thought about it and most of my reasoning has to do with money. 90% of the time I can and will buy physical copies for cheaper than digital. I wait for sales, I hunt eBay for used copies. Very rarely do I buy a game at launch and at full price these days. But the other big thing is I resell certain physical games. Either I don't like them or Ive gotten everything I want out of them and could use the money. And honestly that's the biggest reason for me. Steam is the one digital platform I don't hesitate to buy something from because they give you a generous leeway on returns. If Nintendo did that I'd buy a lot more digital games. Sure some id return and pick something else but it would give me freedom to try a lot more games and ultimately I would buy something. Right now I only buy digital on Switch if it's available literally nowhere else, not physical, not in any other platform and if it's $20 or less, and if it's more I wait for a sale until it is under $20.
I've played the original on GBA two or three times through, loved it, but this is not a must have. Had I never played it I probably would get it. Maybe if it was $20 or $30.
Anyone voting anything other than SMB Lost Levels clearly has not played it. There is no comparison. It is excrutiating to play. It's like it was designed to punish players. I consider myself very good at Mario games, and really the only game I struggled at was Lost Levels. If you haven't played it and think Mario games are too easy, go play it.
This game feels like a complete waste, Nintendo didn't want to create something new, didn't want to expand on an existing game so they rebuilt the exact same game (as good as it is) and called it a day and with a full price tag. If they were so intent on bringing this game back it should've been at a heavy discount. This is a game that could've easily been ported to GBA app on Switch. Absolutely no need to remaster it and charge us full price, even as good a game as it is.
I only ever played Eternal Wings and it felt like a fantastic throwback to PS1 era RPGs. The voices weren't great, they had a weird echo, but it seems asinine to remove them completely. Like just...why? Probably won't get this but glad they rereleased them.
The first game left me very sour, it was like they created the game then decided to stop halfway and release it anyway. And to release a sequel not too long after is like an insult. No thanks.
Am I the only one disappointed by the lack of good controller/system designs? Like the Splatoon 3 one was pretty decent, but compared to 3DS/DS/GBA even Gamecube and N64, I feel like the designs have been pretty "meh". Even PS4/5 and Xbox controllers have been better.
Looks just like a bad, bland Sonic game. If they wanted to mix it with DKC they need more than just jungle trees. I was expecting DKC style level design but with Sonic at the helm.
It was really hard to choose. I went with Switch just based on the sheer amount of quality titles even if a lot of them are remasters or rereleases. Those still count, no? It came down to GameCube vs Switch for me. Though my favorite consoles (SNES and N64) are right beneath that. But GBA is amazing too. Ah, so hard to choose!
I love all these new gaming Lego sets but they're a bit pricey and I have no place to display them. If I were like 12 years old no doubt I would've owned them all
For me it depends on continuity. If they're all connected then yes start at the beginning and go forward. But if they're separate entries of the same franchise, I start at the end and work backwards.
So far, technical problems aside, I love it. If this game was polished like it should be, this would be a 10/10 for me. But it's not, so I gave it a 9.
I'll go with ZombiU because it was the most surprising one. With Mario I knew what I was getting, Nintendo Land was a cool experiment but much like Wii Sports it's charm fizzled out really really quickly. The rest of the lineup was old 3rd party ports I could've had on PS3. But ZombiU was the one fresh new game in the lineup and was way better than I anticipated. I honestly avoided it for several years because it looked like a throwaway title but later found it for like $10 and decided to try it. Highly recommended especially for that price.
Not much I cared for but Harvestella piqued my interest, and I'm really looking forward to MM Battle Network Collection since I really like Mega Man but never played any BN series.
I haven't played a farming game since Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life on GameCube. I used to love those, then I just stopped playing them. But every time I see a new one it piques my interest. I almost got Rune Factory 5 but I may start with this. I like the look of this.
I was going to buy it just to play it on Switch but now I know for sure I won't be buying this. I have access to these games on 3 or 4 different consoles so no real reason to buy it.
EarthBound is my favorite game of all time and I consider myself a huge Mother fan, but we're in 2022 now and people need to understand the series is done. I hoped for a Mother 4 or a Mother 3 official translation for many years but it's not happening. At this point I'm just happy to have rereleases of EarthBound and EarthBound Beginnings.
What I don't understand is how next iterations of Mario sports titles have the same if not less content than the previous installments and people still pour over them like they're the next greatest thing. Mario Tennis Aces, Golf World Tour and Strikers Battle League all have exactly what the Wii and Gamecube versions have, if not less. I continually find myself wanting to go back to Mario Power Tennis or Golf Toadstool Tour on GCN or Mario Strikers Charged on Wii. Nintendo should be ashamed. It's blatantly clear that they're just churning out a new game because, well it can be labeled as new and people will buy it. But it's the same damn game we've been playing for 15+ years! And on top of that, the whole "trickle DLC" thing. Just launch the game with all content to begin with. When all content is released 6 months from now I won't care anymore. At that point don't even waste your time giving us more characters, just give us more content in the next game.
Is it only me or does anyone lose interest more and more every time something you want gets sold out? I really wanted one of these when they first came out but the longer I have to wait for one the less I actually want one and eventually I'll stop caring. 🤷♀️
@Porky I completely agree, Duck Hunt can and should happen. Better yet give us all the light gun games on NES and SNES. I can't be the only one wanting to play Battle Clash and Super Scope 6!
There's no content in the game. No options, no modes, no stats. It's as bare bones as it gets. It's too bad because I really looked forward to it before I bought it and ended up collecting dust
This looks fine and all, I'm certainly going to buy it, but this collection has been released over and over again with really nothing new. Something like this should have every old Sonic game at this point. And I hate bringing this up every time a new Sonic collection is announced but...where's Knuckles Chaotix??? When will that get a rerelease? When???
US box art by a mile. I saw that big box in Blockbuster one day in 1995/96 and it instantly made me curious. I rented it, became my favorite game of all time, bought it afterwards and the rest is history.
Star Fox is, for me at least, one of those franchises that has one really stellar game (SF64) and the rest I just don't care about. SF Adventures was pretty good but it's never been a true SF game to me and a lot of other people. Starlink was also pretty good but, again, not a Star Fox game.

Re: Nintendo Direct: Mario Kart World: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate It?
I can't wait for this game, I think it looks amazing. But the Direct itself was a bit of a letdown. Hardly anything we didn't already know.

Everything about this game looks amazing. I can't wait!

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown?
@Nf157 Same!! If I was not interested in owning my games then I'd just rent them from my library, which does have games. Or I just don't play it.
Re: Visions Of Mana Announced By Square Enix, But Not For Switch
Looks fantastic. I'm a big fan of the Mana franchise so this is a no-brainer for me.

@FuecocoBoi09 100%. Banjo and K Rool trailers were absolutely epic.

Geno & Mallow. And yes everyone wants Geno, I do too, but if you're gonna make Geno, you better make Mallow too!

Re: Soapbox: It's Time To Admit That F-Zero X Is The Best F-Zero
X is easily my favorite but GX is probably objectively the best. However, remake X with some actual scenery and keep everything else and it's perfect.
