Re: Did You Miss Out On The Super Mario Anniversary Pin Set? You're Not Alone

AstralSoul

Good ol' Nintendo...always biting the hands that feed them. I don't care that much about some pins that will sit in a drawer but these kinds of shady practices are getting out of hand. Nintendo makes great games, but their business sense comes off as manipulative and greedy sometimes. And here I thought they were one of the good ones.

Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About 'Limited-Time' Games From Nintendo?

AstralSoul

@Zuljaras Exactly my thoughts. Physical release, it's not surprising but it boggles my mind why they'd remove it digitally. Yet another prime example why digital is worse than physical. At least after the digital game is taken off the eShop, people can still buy secondhand physical copies (albeit at a premium price)

Re: Mario Kart Tour's Pirate Tour Adds King Bob-Omb And Pirate Bowser Jr.

AstralSoul

Everyone who says they need to focus on MK8D or MK9 instead of this mobile junk is completely right. I 100% agree. However, the mobile game is made by an entirely different team than the core Nintendo team that normally makes the Mario Kart games. It's unfortunate but I too wish they'd add more characters and courses in the proper MK entries.

Re: Poll: What's The Best Paper Mario Game?

AstralSoul

1. Paper Mario (N64)
2. Thousand Year Door
3. Origami King
4. Super Paper Mario
5. Paper Jam (technically not a PM game though)
6. Color Splash
7. Sticker Star

Honestly as much as people love to complain about the series I love them all... Except Sticker Star.

Re: Has The Chibi-Robo Studio Skip Pulled The Plug On Development?

AstralSoul

Wouldn't be surprised if true. How does one go from making an excellent unique and charming game of a new IP to slowly destroying the franchise with each iteration. Why? Chibi Robo never got the chance to shine. Zip Lash was not a very good game and it was an even worse Chibi Robo game. RIP Chibi Robo.

Re: Poll: No, Really, What Was Nintendo's Worst Year?

AstralSoul

I voted 2016 because at that point it was painfully obvious how done Nintendo was with Wii U. They didn't even try. 2012 was pretty bad as well with the Wii being pretty much done and just waiting for Wii U at that point. 2006 again wasn't great, another transitional year. 2020 isn't over yet so I can't say it's been the worst but at least there's a legit reason why 2020 has been very slow. What was their excuse in 2012 and 2016? Many people would say "well new consoles coming soon in those years why make an effort to save them? Well SNES and NES were fantastic still the year the following console came out and even N64 had some really great hits the year it was discontinued.

Re: Activision Says It's Evaluating Additional Platforms For Crash Bandicoot 4

AstralSoul

@Doktor-Mandrake Exactly. Don't fix what isn't broken. Crash of the Titans changed the formula and it wasn't good. People wonder why all the Mega Man's and all the 2D standard Mario games play the same... because the formulas work. Lots of Crash hate in this post. Oh well. Can't please em all.

Also don't let the presence of microtransactions bother you. It seems it's purely for cosmetics. I'm completely fine with that, it's optional stuff.

Re: How Well Do You Know The Koopalings?

AstralSoul

8/8 easy quiz. I knew Larry was the youngest but I can't remember where I read it. I remember reading something about him being the favorite and the baby of the group, so Bowser gave him World 7 in Mario World, so he got to be closer to Bowser.

Re: "Why Make It Mini?" NES Creator Says People Would Still Buy A Regular System Today

AstralSoul

Nothing would please me more to see brand new NES, SNES and N64 consoles and games being sold in stores. Many people (myself included) already still retro consoles and games, and having brand new ones (at a reasonable price of course, not the ridiculously high prices some games go for) would be amazing. I know it would never happen so the most nostalgic thing I can do is walk into a retro game store while they still exist.

Re: Itching For 2020's First Nintendo Direct? One Super Mario Maker 2 Player Got Tired Of Waiting

AstralSoul

I love how people assumed that we would be getting double the games since handheld and home console development are now combined. I'm sure Nintendo has SOMEthing up their sleeve but it would be nice to at least give us that reassurance and tell us. Right now it's looking like Animal Crossing is it until E3 which...wouldn't be good. They already had severe dry spells in the Wii U. Please don't repeat that.
