It's been a while since I've appreciated the three Starters design in a same Gen ! Didn't happen since Gen 5, or maybe we could argue, 6 eventually.

Here I find the designs quite good. Nothing amazing but at least it's coherent. I would choose Gecqua personnaly ! Can't wait to see their evolutions

Unlike the Nintendo DS, I didn't buy the 3DS at release. I've waited until the release of the 3DS XL that I bought on day one.

And then, I sold it to buy a New 3DS XL at release.

And to this day, this New 3DS XL is still in perfect condition and works as fine. I'm not playing it as much as before ofc but once in a while I boot it and play for a few days. That is one of my favorite consoles, bought and played around a hundred games between 2012 and 2020 when I began to lose interest in it.

There are still a few games I have to play, for example "Project X Zone 2" or "Radiant Historia : Perfect Chronology", I sometimes watch the boxes thinking I should take some time to launch the games, yup.. I have an insane backlog of games to play on other platforms but I really should take some time to finish the last few games my New 3DS still has to share with me : ' )

Beautiful promotional posters ! My two favorites are Peach and Bowser Jr. and I voted for the later, beautiful colors and composition, the most original of the bunch !

And yup, Bowser is the weakest, it makes no sense at all D:

2) Peach and Toad
3) Luigi
4) Rosalina (I'm not super fond of that mist transition between the library and space)
5) Mario (honestly bland and boring)
6) Bowser, poor Bowser, he scares nobody anymore, he looks like a boomer dad trying to be cool.

Gen 3 might be the peak Mon's design to me. Might as well be the peak of the serie. My little favorite is Aron/Lairon/Aggron, always loved that little guy going big but there are plenty of great great Pokemon in this gen ! Can easily make a team or two with only stylish/cute gen 3 mons' !

I like both games but I have a slight preference for HK that had a mood and atmosphere unmatched. I LOVED wandering in HK, the places, the soundtrack, and I also think that the Deepnest area is unmatched, one of the greatest map of all time, a place so dreadful you absolutely do not want to be in, yet fascinating to explore.

Silksong on the other side is an excellent game, very pleasing to move with Hornet, faster pace, great moveset and fights, but I thought that, well, the addition of side quests was not the greatest idea 'cause most were boring and there was too much backtracking, and also that the region was not as grim and moody as in HK.

So yeah, in term of gameplay, Silksong is the better game but as a whole I think HK is slightly above !

To summarize, HK =10/10, Silksong = 9/10

Pokemon pokemon pokemon, don't you have another game serie in mind ? There is one or two Pokemon games releasing EVERY YEAR and yet you are still begging for more, while most Pokémon games are technically atrocious and honestly oudated for a while now.. And there are tens of dormant licenses waiting to be resurrected but no it's always about Pokemon.. You consumers are just digging your own grave and enjoying it, poor diversity on the side of Nintendo. They have a few legendary games each generations, hopefully, the reason why I still stick around but my expectations have lowered every years since the Covid honestly..

I might buy a Switch 2 in the future, if Nintendo wakes up and shows something interesting and exciting in a Nintendo Direct. Only game I'm interested in currently is DK Bananza and I didn't feel like buying the console for that only reason. I'm not interested in Mario Tennis and in Yoshi's Island, and I don't care much about Switch 2 upgrades.. To me, it feels like Nintendo is in the same posture as Sony when they released their PS5. Cross-Gen consoles where they trust their previous catalogue to carry them far enough but makes for a few years of rare first-party releases. I guess I'll consider buying a Switch 2 when they reveal the new Zelda game if it is as impressive as BotW or TotK. I'd love a proper new F-Zero game as well. Or a new Smash game. Mario 3D ofc. Astral Chain 2 anyone? I'm not interested in third party games as I mostly play on PC, so yeah, come on Nintendo, show some stuff, currently the 2026 line-up isn't exciting !!

Impressive feat ! I wouldn't have the patience to try that, finishing the game with a few hundred deaths was enough :'D Honestly I thought somebody had already achieved that a few years ago but, yeah, it shows how difficult that must be, after all the record means completing more than 300 levels without a single mistake. Insane !

Oh yeah, let's sell the same game once more, for only $20 if they already bought the game, and as a brand new game for $60.. Skyrim is 14 years old btw.. You shouldn't expect anything great coming from Bethesda these days, everytime they release something they spit on the face of the players. Recently on PC, Fallout 4 got an "anniversary" upgrade, basically just selling mods for a price while making all the others mods uncompatible and destroying your savefiles.. And they already did that with Skyrim in 2021. Yeah, thank you, spit more, I'm not covered in your filth entirely yet.

@DashKappei I didn't say it was the same thing nor the same experience. Just, I don't get why it's an issue when a game provides a long playtime if it is fun.. Video games are entertainements, if you have fun for 20 hours or 50h or 100h, that is what matters, not if you finished the game or not. Finishing games do not give me an overloard of pleasure. I play games I like and until I'm bored, that's all. A good 20 hours game is great. And a good 20 hours playtime in a 100 hours game is great as well. I pref playing 20 hours of a very long game than finishing a game in 10 hours and wanting more, that's all I said.

You are weird.. You have a game you can play for as much as you'd like, if you buy it you can play 100 hours, or 20 hours.. But you won't buy it because too much playtime.. I'd love to be in that situation.. I tend to think twice when buying a game that is too short.. But if it is long, and if I do not finish the game, I don't consider it an issue.. I pref to play 50 hours to a game and stop while I had a great time than playing 10 hours to another, having done everything and wanting more.. Not finishing a game isn't an issue if you spent several hours in the game and felt joy and pleasure.. Well, at least that's my take

Well.. I bought a Switch in 2017 to play this game.. So, yeah, I'm picking it up on Switch 1, OG !

I voted Japan. The artwork clearly shouts videogame, it's so cool and dynamic, also dramatic with the death of a soldier and the big vilain in the sky, and it has a very original composition that's not often seen in jacket's artworks, I love it !

America is cool, ofc but more traditional, and I'm not sure about the hero's design. And we better not speak about the european's artwork this week.. XD

Plenty of people eating ***** fast-food and watching stupid shows/movies/videos. Overall IQ dropped by half in the last 20 years and corporations are doing all they can to continue making ppl stupid. Not a reason to accept anything. I never touched Roblox and do not intend to try it when I see how incredibly bare and dumb it is and the community it has. Making decisions based on decadent social behaviors to justify downward levelling will not make me to have a good opinion of you or your company. Well, in conclusion, I don't care, hopefully there are still good experiences for anyone. Same can be said about litterature, you can still find nicely written and interesting books, even if 70 to 80% of the consumers are just reading
bad romances or lowbrow thrillers sigh

Mmmm.. I don't think E33 deserves the GOTY reward but it will surely grab some awards (best debut Indie, RPG and soundtrack). I hope Silksong gets Indie GOTY and art direction, Hades 2 get best action game and best game direction. And I'm surprised Silksong isn't nominated for best audio design as it was absolutely stellar in that category..

I think all those games are nominated in so many categories that they will all win at least one or two categories each. And also, well, you can see how poor the year was in term of releases when it's basically 7 games sharing 15 categories for a whole year..

Silksong, Absolum and Hades 2 are my picks this year. I liked Blue Prince but not enough to give it the GOTY, while it has its moments, it's not perfect, too many repetitions and sometimes frustration because of the general game design. And I must admit Expedition 33 didn't click much with me, I played 10 hours and stopped because I thought it was boring and not well written.. Yeah, I know, hot take, I might give the game another chance in the future but currently I don't see myself giving it a GOTY. Great art direction and soundtrack, obviously but as a whole, not as good as my three favorites which, in each of their genre, are the better games.

I'm convinced Inafune has zero interest into the gaming industry, otherwisely he would reckon that there are plenty of new games, IPs and franchise releasing every day. The guy has exclusively been a producer for the last 30 years and has been chara-designer for the first few Mega-Man NES (not even working on X SNES). He didn't produce anything in the last 10 years, produced a few games surfing on the MegaMan trend and slowed down the development of Fantasy Life i. Why would we care for his uninformed opinion on anything?

Honestly the best version would be a mix between both box arts ! I always found Samus's posture in the EU/NA's side to be somehow weird but I really like the black and white background with U-mos and Ing. And, well, the Japanese one take a safe choice with front Samus in all her splendor but the fact she is not in the center but rather slightly on the left side (or right side whatever how you see it) is great and they really worked on the background which contains a lot of nuances of light and darkness. And the writing on the side is great, as well as the Japanese name "Dark Echoes". I had a hard time to choose between both but in the end I went with Japan is it felt more fresh and mystical. Gives me Blame vibes (the manga). Well, have a good week-end all

I swear I don't understand HOW Nintendo hasn't released MP2 and MP3 on Switch yet, or the Metroid Prime Trilogy (I lost hope for this one at the release of MP1 a while ago). How freakin' disconnected can you be to forget about those games when you are lazily promoting the fourth opus. I feel like they either dont care at all, or have no faith in the serie. Current Nintendo saddens me much, I don't understand most of their decisions for a few years now.

Wow, I played this game on the GBA if I remember correctly but I totally forgot its existence x) I guess it was alright but it didn't stick in my brain. Would be curious to give it another try to get my memories back

Respect is dead, nothing matters anymore in today's society but making huge amount of money in the smallest amount of time. AI can do anything in seconds, nothing has value, tomorrow's world will be shallower each day and global intelligence will continue to decline. What an end !

Nightdive is a studio specialized in enhancements, remasters and remakes of old games. Nothing wrong with it. Not like there aren't new games releasing everyday.. Great games of yesterday are still worth playing

... Why not both? One of the first thing that striked me when I started playing Silksong was the excellent sound design paired with the use of controller vibration. Never had I played something that excels as well as this game on this matter, you feel the earth shaking, the bugs scratching, the things moving. I see zero reason to turn the music off though..

Kensuke Tanabe, as far as I know, has been producing every Metroid Prime game since the very first one. Dunno how it's worse now than 25 years ago. I'm really curious about those open segments, I can't wait to try the game, I have faith and hope it will not be entirely dull. I bought a Switch to play Metroid Prime 4 after all, and that is a true story x)

I see a lot of people saying "it's not a big deal", "it changes nothing", "it won't affect the gameplay". Okay, right, I agree but then, if it is so minor, why bothering changing the design in the first place? You are getting offended by a fictional character who isn't wearing a short and a top under their armor suit? Should the game require a Mature label to be sold without censoring the designs? People are really fighting against windmills.. I think there are more worrysome matters to discuss..

That is insane. There are so many games out there, Fortnite Cancer, battle passes, loot boxes and such, and an indie, smart game that is clever and makes you think, with absolutely no kind of gambling or microtransactions of sorts, get removed because some ***** can't make the difference between an apple and jerrican..

That ain't impressive. I've seen hundreds of "one man" studio make games I want to play. This one I want to pass. I have nothing against the guy, it just doesn't appeal to me

I barely touched my Switch this year.. Like last year. I was excited for Mario Golf, it didn't deliver. I was excited for Metroid Dread, I finished the game is less than 8 hours and will probably never touch it again. Mario 3D World was a re-release and it was okay, my most played game this year I think, something like 20 hours.. Great.. Nintendo hired and are making space for their employees, maybe that in 4 or 5 years we might be seeing the release of more than 1 interesting game every 4 months! The thing is, I got a computer, and in comparison I play in two weeks there more than I play in a year on Switch.. Nintendo fails to entertain me since a few years, and still I keep checking news and watching every direct when there is one. A miracle can happen, I'm optimistic

Smash is the game I won't delete because I still play from time to time with friends. I also like the keep the rhythm games in, Deemo, VOEZ, Cytus, cause I like to rhythm occasionally. I kept for a long time Diablo 3 but I deleted it in the end after playing with every characters ^^

@chipia Yup, and Sonic Forces 35/40.. Luigi's Mansion 3 had 33/40. Yup, the same rating than this Mario Golf. So, just make your own opinion

The review is good, you just have to compare it with other golf games, not expect BotW rating. Last Mario Golf had 34. 33 is absolutely fine. And Famitsu, anyway, has never been.. accurate.

I, personally, am anticipating this game and excited to play it at the end of the week. I pre-ordered it and keep it ordered, it'll be fun (last fun game on Switch was, like, one year ago (Paper Mario) )

@Ardisan Someone remembering and wanting a ZHP port on actual gen can only be a good and wise person. I hug you and wish you a good night I'd so much like that game to be available again (and I played thousands of games, including those Prinnies games).

For me it'll be the exact same as last week. Diablo 3 first and BotW second. VOEZ will complete the podium. I'll change my current gaming habits when Smash Ultimate comes out.

Roughly 4 hours of Diablo 3, an hour of Zelda BotW(might become two or three depending on how it goes ) and one or two hours of VOEZ for me

I'm surprised by the playtime of some. It took me slightly less than 30 hours to reach ~105%, without knowing anything of the game before beginning, by taking my time, and, I think, taking an unconventional road (and without Godmaster). I hate to know things about a game or a movie before playing/watching it, that's why I never watch trailers nor I read anything. So yeah, I've been surprised by the length of the game (in a good way, if you compare to other metroidvanias, this one is clearly bigger than most) but I would have been pleased with this lava themed area, it would have been cool. While playing, I was nearly sure that there would be a lava themed area, I was waiting for it at some point, but it never came ah ah. It's an excellent game nonetheless.

That is exciting ! I'm looking forward to the feature.
