Japanese developer Nussoft has revealed that it is brining the brilliantly-titled Ace of Seafood to the Switch, and that it will be showing off the game at this year's Tokyo Game Show.
Ace of Seafood is set in a future where humankind ceases to exist, and the oceans are populated by massive, laser-spouting fishes, crabs and other sea creatures. Despite humanity's extinction, a massive battleship features in the game, which - when combined with massive, beam-throwing crustaceans - gives us the sneaking suspicion that realism isn't high on the list of priorities here.
Even so, Ace of Seafood looks utterly amazing, so we're thankful that we'll be able to sample its wackiness on Switch at some point in the near future. What about you? Let us know with a comment.

What did I just watch? I don't even know what to think.
The sub headline puns simultaneously make me laugh and want to blow my brains out.
That was pretty confusing, yet I'm intrigued.
Frickin sharks with frickin laser beams. DARIUS this is not.
What the hell lol?
Couldn't get past the pun infested title and subtitle.
If the article hadn't said this game was made in Japan I would have guessed Silicon Valley.

I can't say I ever saw that before. That was weird on a whole new level. But I kind of want to play it.
it looks like some crappy free game on ipad
Agreed, don't like how this looks.
Checking this out in Miiverse, this was very well-received when it launched on the Wii U eShop (Japan only) last year.
I hope the Switch version comes to the West.
... man, "Darius" has changed...
SHARKS WITH FRICKING LAZER BEAMS ATTACHED TO THEIR FRICKING HEADS!
Erm.... That advert.... Erm.... What the hell?
You are a fish that shoots other fish, or a boat with supersize fish, or crab which can dig (or the map glitched, not sure which)
Ok that made no sense whatsoever
Water levels were a whole lot irritating but a whole water game? No thank you XD
This game is weird. And I'm saying that in both good and bad. Let's hope it's easy for us water level haters to be interested. And by the way, great pun! Sometimes they're really punny
Meanwhile, in Japan...
That is the videogame equivalent to Sharknado
Fish are fiends! Not food!
Shark bait ooh ha ha!
This looks like the sequel to Starfox 64 I've been waiting for!
This... actually looks pretty dope. I wasn't expecting that when I clicked the article, to be honest.
This game looks so poorly made and so amazing at the same time.
I don't know what I just saw there, but all I know is that I'm down with it. Deep, deep down!
At first i was like ok...I'm a fish in a glitchy a** world. Then the music and then LASERS. I was entertained toward the end if it. Would I buy? No.
It's been on Steam for a while, and it's just sorta OK (surprise).
What the hell is this, the Japanese answer to Goat Simulator?!
Is this a MMO?
Just gonna wait here for Lord Karnage to make a review video for this. It's got freaking laser beams on playable shark heads. Move along Truxton and maybe Vectex.
I have this for the WiiU. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to play as a laser-shooting fish.
They seem to be aiming for the "I am bread" crowd. Terrible PS1 graphics with tons of clipping and pop-in and herky-jerky animations (if you can even call them that)
hope it doesn't sell. wouldn't want to encourage this kind of thing. At least polish it a bit when you get such a goofy idea.
@Yasaal "water games" hahaha. sub Rebellion on PS2 is an all-time fave of mine. There's more to the sea than the sky, like the Ace Combat series they're taking the piss out of.
I bought this and the PS1-era like prequel (forgot the name) on Steam a while back. It played like a Net Yaroze project. The sequel looks much better and I will fire it up if this gets a date in the West to see if it's worth grabbing on Switch.
@Spiders you're probably one of two people, besides myself, that thinks Sub Rebellion was utterly awesome.
(I also loved Critical Depth on PS1.)
This goes on sale on the eShop every once in a while over here, but I've been afraid to take the plunge (HURR HURR) without hearing what Nintendolife thinks about it. I guess I'll finally find out soon enough.
What the?! Lol, what nonsense!
@ECMIM Haha hell yeah! It's the only hard copy PS2 game I still have. Checking out Critical Depth now.
@Spiders Yep same here. I hope it it's fun
