I mean, it looks absolutely gorgeous but I still am not sure what the point of it is... You capture Pokemon, yes. You have battles Pokemon on Pokemon in the wild that can also harm you, yes. But no trainer battles? Or gyms? Or.... I struggle to understand the objective. And that alone makes me want to buy it yesterday.

I remember downloading the trailer to this on my Mac Performa using Netscape. As I was obsessed with the original, I was so Damn excited for this entry. I had seen the sneek peeks in gaming mags, the “unused footage”. As gorgeous as it was, it sort of fell flat. Maybe I missed the style? I’m probably the only one here that LOVED Yoshi’s NEW island. I pray they embrace that style and create a new game in that style. No yarn, no crafts, no cardboard. The original felt less kiddy. Don’t know how it went from awesome to Seseme Street

Meh. Never really been a fan of the series… sadly was hoping by now the Wario Land Series would be making a comeback instead.

Interesting… Here’s my take. I truly do believe a switch Pro is coming. But not yet. It’s like Apple releasing an S version of their iPhone line before the next big release. They need to buy time and snag sales for Christmas

I fell like I was more hyped when the trailer came out, than when I actually finished watching the film. It’s been a while but I do remember enjoying it! However a few things I wished they showed more of were proper Pokémon battles (I know, not the point of the film). Like that Stadium scene in the beginning. The lighting for Pikachu’s attacks at the end were horrible. I wanted to see a proper thunderbolt or even Thunder and zap the sheet out of Mewtwo. That battle between Gengar and Blastoise… too short man. Again I get it, battling wasn’t the point Of the film. I didn’t mind the CGI at all, I thought it was amazing. I’d welcome another style like that 100%

Truthfully I’d love Yoshis New Island. I’d love another game in the art style of that at least. Just feeling tired of the kiddy craft/yarn approach to the past Yoshi games. Give us the goods of wooly world and crafted world in the original Yoshi art style. I’d love that.

Imagine a VR Pokémon game where you’re actually standing in a stadium, crowds cheering, standing behind your Pokémon and battling in real time... man...

I mean, it just seems odd that if they’re going to make it useable in handheld, surely pressing ‘B’ for sword seems more... convenient, no?

@BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed I mean maybe... I don't know I have a feeling MK is over on the Switch as it is rn because it is so terribly popular. Mario Odyssey though is highly probable. A new MK I think is something reserved for a new upgrade or a new console. Maybe that's the case for all releases after Christmas who knows.

Ok but most importantly what is their holiday game? I honestly don't expect BOTW2 until 2022. Ae of Calamity DLC goes right up until Nov... so not sure about BOTW2 a month later for Christmas...

I'd say SMW is definitely #1 and Mario 3 deserves the second spot. But personally, I would put Mario U 3rd, and 6 golden coins 4th. TBH after the 'New' series, I honestly was waiting for a remake of SMW. Then I thought that if it used to New style, the charm would be lost. I would still welcome a SMW remake in a different art style, as well as a remake of the original Yoshi's Island. Good games deserve that kind of treatment. still waiting for Wario Land

I'm not really expecting it to look better than sw/sh. I feel like it'll be closer to Link's Awakening remake in terms of graphical cartoon bubbly style tbh.

I spent hours and HOURS playing this...in 2016.

I’m enjoying the demo. And the cinematic scenes are absolutely vibrant and gorgeous. Now, this is my first time playing anything like HW... is it really supposed to be so...fast? It’s like everything is on fast forward. Why does Link run so damn fast??

Galaxy is unreal in HD. Sunshine is OK, really welcoming the HD widescreen. 64 is appalling. If they had at least made it widescreen.. like why not. But brings back great memories.

I’ve only played Galaxy for a short time, and it was my sister’s copy. But I’ll go with Sunshine first. Out of the 3 games that game really stood out for me. And I just cannot wait to see it in full widescreen glory on my 60”.

Well we seem to be set for this winter. What the rest of 2021 brings who knows. I expect we’ll see this game by next Christmas. The wait is long but if that’s what it takes to live up to BOTW then right on

Well look at that. I never played HW. Didn’t interest me but lord almighty does Nintendo know how to present a trailer. I got feels of when they first announced BOTW This is definitely a day one purchase for me. I’m not familiar with the HW formula but lord Jesus do I love a backstory explanation.

Well I’ll be damned. I expected this. But I certainly didn’t expect THIS. Aside from my disappointment in Mario 64 being... the same... Sunshine and Galaxy look absolutely GLORIOUS. That said, Mario 64 is a welcome addition to re-live the journey to 120 since Christmas 1996.
That being said... a part of me feels like they would remake and revisit 64 from the ground up on Nintendo’s next console. The YouTube remakes are just too good. In the future. For now, I can’t wait to relive these games. Already preordered physical version. They’re sneaky those mother tuckers Nintendo.
This being released though shows we might get a holiday game... since this is limited for some damn reason.

Huh. Interesting. I’ve honestly never played Pikman. The games this year have been a miss for me. But I’m super happy for everyone who’s been wanting some form of Pikman game on Switch... even if it isn’t 4.

Who knows, we still could get that September Mario... and then a surprise holiday game. With this surprise I’m almost certain there will be a shadow drop for the holiday season. Whether it’s Mario related, I dunno.

Everyone is different. It truly is my all time favourite game. Ever.
I think that’s why Wolly World and Crafted Workd irked me so much. The art style became way too... kiddy and less and less like an actual part of the Mario World. I wish they would revisit it like they did with Yoshi’s New Island. But better. And on the Switch...

@Jokerwolf it boggles my mind that the Wario Land franchise is nowhere to be seen. Wario Land truly deserves the “Link’s Awakening remake” treatment.

I guess the majority of us were expecting them to pull an Apple “one more thing”. Just that one more thing to salivate over until an official announcement. I mean THAT would have been a wise business decision. However going into this majorly micro direct - it was pretty transparent that that was all it would be.
So I’m not hugely disappointed. None of these games are for me. For you? FANTASTIC, enjoy.
But I seriously believe they have plans coming our way. They just aren’t doing it in a very smart way by being so incredibly mute. Silence is deafening. And damaging.
