Re: Review: Dragon Quest Builders 2 - Beating Minecraft At Its Own Game

@Ludovsky Personally, I liked the way the atmosphere was handled in DQB1. It made me feel the weight of how the world had suffered because of the hero's choice. The chapters start out grim and sometimes difficult to survive. I felt really accomplished and happy at the end of each chapter, but also sad to leave the villagers because I had to move on. The legendary builder was a tragic character who brings peace and happiness back to the world, but never gets to enjoy it himself.

Just my opinion, of course.

Can't wait to get repeatedly trolled with levels that immediately trap you between bumpers, which required some kind of glitch movement to escape that I never figured out. And they are also unskippable because the game won't let you skip while Mario is bouncing around. Such fun....so many 100 Mario runs killed because of those...

Re: Super Mario Battle Royale Game Receives Takedown Notice From Nintendo

Sorry, but the "Nintendo has to protect their IP" argument really holds no water when you consider that SEGA allows fan-made creations to flourish. By the logic of some people in the comments here, SEGA should've lost the rights to Sonic a long time ago for not "protecting" it.

SEGA even invited one of the fans to officially make a Sonic game, and it ends up being arguably the best ever made. SEGA does indeed do what Nintendon't, it seems.

Re: The Next DLC Fighter For Smash Ultimate Will Be Revealed At Nintendo's E3 Direct

@HobbitGamer You also had Marth and Roy in Melee at a time when no Fire Emblem game had been released in the West. Their inclusion in the game, though, can definitely be credited with raising enough interest in the series for Nintendo to localize them, starting with Fire Emblem (The Blazing Blade) on the GBA.

You could also make the case that Ness's inclusion is what revived interest in Earthbound.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Is Now Five Years Old

As long as Mario Kart 8 continues to sell like gangbusters, I don't think we'll be seeing a Mario Kart 9 on Switch. There's no business reason for them to essentially kill the golden goose while it's still laying eggs. That said, we could do with some fresh content. I would definitely support some DLC with new tracks.

Edit: Has any Nintendo console ever received more than one iteration of Mario Kart? I can't think of one off-hand.
