They really need to fix the Marketplace performance on Switch. It is incredibly slow, images won't load and it sometimes even causes the game to crash. Awful.
Considering Tencent already owns a 40% stake in another game company with a far more popular game engine (Epic), I doubt this is about Tencent wanting another game engine. The military simulation access theory seems plausible.
If Western countries were smart, they would be banning sales like these....
Heaven forbid kids learn about having to persist through failure to ultimately succeed.
I'm fine if these are optional, but if they are not then it's a terrible decision. It's a SONIC game - death means replaying seconds of gameplay, not half an hour.
This really just reminds me how I miss Iwata. I feel like the current Nintendo attitude of coasting on minimal effort wouldn't have been the case if he were still around.
From my personal recollection of 2006, there was a bit of a Sudoku fad going on at that time (at least here in America), so I can see why they would want to specifically market that feature.
"The second game in which you travel the world collecting moons to power your ship. Even if you die, you can start again at the last checkpoint. We believe in the day when Mario will defeat the evil Bowser and save Princess Peach."
I remember when Twitch Plays Pokemon were doing their first run, I watched as the chat figured out a way to restart the game, start a new game, and was about to overwrite the save file before the admin stepped in at the last second to shut the game down.
@TeslaChippie Then again, the oldest Dynasty Warriors games had fewer enemies but were tougher to kill and did not have the "capture the fort" mechanic. You had to stick to and fight alongside your AI teammates, especially in the beginning when your character was low-level. It felt more like actually fighting a war, ironically.

Re: Review: Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania - Feature-Packed, But Far From Top Banana
You can always count on Sega these days to mess things up. Sad.
Re: The Next 'Musou' Game, Touken Ranbu Warriors, Launches On Switch In May 2022
Musou games are like my comfort food, but I know nothing about this franchise. I need to see more before I decide to jump in.

Re: Sonic And Balan Wonderworld Creator Yuji Naka Is Now Making Smartphone Games
Being banished into the realm of phone games actually sounds worse than retirement, tbh.
Re: Now Suezo From Monster Rancher Is Confirmed For Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania
This is starting to feel like Smash Bros......"everyone's here!"
Re: What Do You Want To See From The Dragon Quest Series In The Future? Square Enix Wants To Know
Dragon Quest X western release. I'd even be satisfied with the recently announced offline version. Please, Square.

Re: Talking Point: Everyone Has A Bad Game They Love, So What's Yours?
Another one:
Nights: Journey into Dreams (Wii)
Just listening to the music makes me really nostalgic, probably because I bought that game during a particularly happy time in life.
Re: EA Is Bringing Another Legacy Edition Of FIFA To Nintendo Switch
NintendoLife gave FIFA21 a 2-star review. FIFA22 should get a 1-star review.
Re: Talking Point: Why Metroid Dread Will Be Worth $60
It's not even really a 2D game; it is a 3D game with a side-perspective camera.
2D games use sprites, but these are 3D models presented from the side.
Re: Reminder: Game Builder Garage Is Out Now On Nintendo Switch
Be sure to use a mouse for this one. It's so much better...

Re: Sonic Origins Spin Dashes To "The Latest Platforms" Next Year
The original Sonic the Hedgehog has to be the most ported game in history. Yes, I'm counting emulation collections as ports.
Re: Dragon Quest X Is Being Transformed Into A "Cute" Offline Game
Square makes it frustrating at times to be a Dragon Quest fan in the West. This is one of those times.
Re: Random: Someone Is Trying To Recreate Counter-Strike On The Nintendo DS
@Ardisan I thought it stood for "Developers' System"? 😉
Re: Konami Might Have Plans To Outsource More Classic IP Following The GetsuFumaDen Revival
What about letting the studio behind the Outlast games, Red Barrel, take a shot at Silent Hill?
I mean let's be honest: after RE6, Capcom definitely looked at Outlast for inspiration for RE7.
Re: Poll: What's The Best Dragon Quest Game?
I ranked X a 1-star due to a lack of western translation 🤷♀️
Re: Nintendo President Outlines Reasons For Increased R&D Spend, Including Next-Gen Hardware

I must have missed those titles 🤔

Re: Nintendo's Just Dropped A Free Demo For Miitopia On Switch
If any late and overlooked 3DS title deserves a Switch port, it is definitely Ever Oasis.
Re: UK Charts: Switch Games Make Up Half Of The Top Ten, But FIFA Steals Animal Crossing's Crown
I assume everyone in the UK owns at least 3 copies of GTA 5 by this point.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #83 - Brain Age / Brain Training
About the "Sudoku Included!" on the box cover....

Re: Random: This Might Just Be The Longest Title We've Ever Seen For A Nintendo Switch Game
Can't wait for the sequel to Mario Odyssey:

Re: PSA: You Should Be More Of A Vicious Killer In Monster Hunter Rise
I think the problem is that there is a mistaken belief among some players that capturing is the "expert" way and that killing is for noobs.
Re: Balan Wonderworld Is Getting A Suspicious Amount Of 10/10 Metacritic User Reviews
I just can't help but feel bad about this whole situation. This game may be the end of Yuji Naka's career.
Re: Atlus Wants To Know What Games You Want Ported To Switch
Ah yes, the annual Atlus "tell us what you want so we can ignore it" survey. My favorite time of year!
Re: Introducing Pokémon Legends: Arceus, An Open-World Prequel To Diamond And Pearl
Just how OLD is Pokéball technology, anyway?
Re: Analogue Explains How It's Going To Deal With Scalping Amid Concerns Over Pocket Pre-Orders
I don't understand why online stores don't just add CAPTCHA to their checkout process.
I would happily click on a few pictures of bikes to have a fairer shot at getting an item.
Re: Random: Streamer Tries To Beat Hades Using A Pomegranate As A Controller
I think Nintendo just found the controller for their next console.
As an added bonus, there's no possibility for drift.

Re: Review: FIFA 21 - EA Insults Switch Owners Yet Again With This Half-Baked Effort
At first I thought, "surely the game deserves a score of 1 instead of a 2", but then I thought "better to save that score for FIFA 22 Legacy Edition".

Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About 'Limited-Time' Games From Nintendo?
So basically, the poll results are: "It's sneaky and dismaying, but I'm pre-ordering it anyway."
And we wonder how the industry got to the point it has when it comes to things like DLC and microtransactions.
Re: Nintendo Reveals Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, A New Zelda Set 100 Years Before Breath Of The Wild

Atlus: "Well, we need to do about 10 polls to gauge consumer interest, then we need to consider it for a long time, then maybe."
Re: Nintendo Reveals Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, A New Zelda Set 100 Years Before Breath Of The Wild
Immediate pre-order! Musou games are my favorite. There's just something so satisfying about them.
Re: Pikmin 3 Deluxe Officially Announced For Switch, Includes All DLC And New Content
Only a couple of more ports left before I pack my Wii U away for good.
Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 And 2 Remasters Officially Revealed, But They're Skipping Switch
No Switch release and an Epic (Fail) Games Store release on PC. Looks like I'll be skipping this one. Too bad.

Ok, I laughed way too hard at that one.
Re: Random: Husband Buys 36 amiibo To Jokingly Spite Isabelle-Hating Wife At Christmas
Seems like all of the Animal Crossing amiibo are now going up in price, so this actually turned out to be a decent investment.

Switch owners: "Yes, we want it."
Atlus: "Don't give up hope. We need to hear from you."
Switch owners: "Yes. We want it!"
Atlus: "If you guys don't let us know, we will never make it!"
Switch owners: "YES! WE WANT IT!"
Atlus: "We decided not to port Persona 5. The demand just wasn't there."
Switch owners: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Re: The Nintendo PlayStation Is Now Up For Auction, Current Bid Stands At $31,000
Re: Feature: The Best Animal Crossing Games Of All Time
The original game has the best music. It's quirkier and catchier, which I feel is something that was lost in later titles.
