Natsume has shared some fresh details on Harvest Moon: Mad Dash which was shown for the first time during E3 last week.
If you're not caught up on this one, Mad Dash is described as a "fast-paced farming game" that is set to launch for both Switch and PS4 in fall 2019. You'll be able to play the game alone or with friends if you prefer, harvesting, fishing, milking, and more as you fulfil orders to complete each level.
Things are said to start out easy, but it won't always be a walk in the park. You'll find yourself exploring the beach, the farm, and even an Underworld as you progress through the game, dealing with all sorts of obstacles as you try to beat each level. One example sees you growing crops while molten lava falls on them, which we imagine hinders things just a bit.
The following list of key features has been shared in a press release:
Key Features:
- Fast-paced action means quick decisions are key!
- Multiplayer madness requires communication to succeed!
- Take on farm, beach, Underworld, and Skyworld levels!
- Use Harvest Sprite Powers to unlock special support skills!
Hiro Maekawa, President & CEO of Natsume, has also shared the following statement:
"Harvest Moon: Mad Dash combines the classic harvesting and farming that players have loved in all Harvest Moon games with challenging and fun multi-player games. Fans will be able to experience the features that make Harvest Moon so familiar in a new way. We loved the reaction of people who have checked it out at E3 2019, and look forward to revealing more as we prepare for launch this fall!"
It certainly sounds like an interesting take on the Harvest Moon franchise. Do you like the sound of it? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

.................
This looks likes a phone game.....
But worse....
Stop dragging the Harvest Moon name through the dirt Natsume!
I'd say that this hurts my heart, but at this point I only expect the worst from Natsume regarding Harvest Moon nowadays so I'm not surprised.
"We loved the reaction of people who have checked it out at E3 2019"
I guess some people enjoy seeing others throw up..
Sheesh, it’s not like it’s first time they make a puzzle spin off.
With that name, it was obvious it was gonna be something like this.
You could just wait for Story of Seasons and not buy Natsume's garbage anymore...
Thank God for Stardew Valley fr fr
At first I thought this was going to be about Harvest Moon Tetris based off that first screen lol.
Kinda sad to see what has happened to Harvest Moon, a once proud series. This version seems like it has really gone backwards from where the games were generations ago. Luckily we have games like Stardew Valley to step in for this series.
@TempOr It probably got silently cancelled or simply became vaporware much like a lot of games that were supposed to come out on the Wii U. When the console failed in the market a lot of developers simply stopped working on games for it but never said anything.
Please Natsume, just let the Story of Seasons dev have the Harvest Moon name and give it up.......
@TempOr it most likely became Light of Hope
Friendly reminder that this is NOT part of the Bokujou Monogatari series, which consists of older Harvest Moon titles and the Story of Seasons titles. This is literally just a different game
This looks awful , it would be a insult if it was a free mobile game.
Please just hire a highly stylized art director or something at least. No flair at all, just generic. Would love a competitive HM where each other can improve the genre. As of now, this doesn't look even the least hopeful.
Harvest Moon 64 looks more impressive then this
The only possible way for them to save Harvest Moon at this point is to go WAAAAAAAAAAY back to square one. They should remake the first Harvest Moon game on SNES, see just what it did right and why so many people loved it, and then make a new game in the series following it.
Ah yes, lava falling on crops and the Underworld...classic staples of the Harvest Moon franchise.
Are you CRAZY, Natsume ?! 😠
You just keep ruining Harvest Moon brand !!
That was called Harvest Moon: Mad Attempts !!
I think i vomited in my mouth a bit.
So this is Hay Day with a Natsume skin.
I bought Light of Hope because I enjoyed HM64. But I got bored fairly quickly. Now I’m enjoying Stardew again, which is okay because it feels like HM on GB which was a fond game
@patbacknitro18 I'd rather they didn't. If Natsume touches any of the original Harvest Moon games (which they didn't make btw, they simply used to publish the series in the west before they split and decided to keep the name; Marvelous were the ones who made them) they're definitely going to ruin them.
I'm not sure if we'll ever see any remakes or remasters of them under the Story of Seasons name, though I'd really like a 3D remake of Harvest Moon DS (the setting from A Wonderful Life was one of my favorites, despite events being rather simplistic in the GC/PS2 versions compared to other games).
@arpaktiko I think it was more a simultaneous, multi-mouth, worldwide vomit from all the disappointed longtime Harvest Moon fans. We vomit collectively in its general direction.
The new Story of Seasons game is really nice looking with its watercolor art style.. I wish they would try a little harder with Harvest Moon.
@KyleHyde If they plan on continuing to push this crap on us, I would atleast like them to try and care about the series again. Personally, all I want is a Links Awakening Style remake of the first Harvest Moon game on SNES. But anything Harvest Moon related at all that isn't crap like this i'll take
Better we put our faith on Re:Legend.
Dont give these imposter HM any airtime. This article is such a waste of effort and that game is garbage. Just ignore them and realize HM is no more but its the spirit will live on with the games thay it inspired.
A very disgusting game, at this point they might as well bury Harvest Moon or give the name back to Marvelous and let Story of Seasons revive Harvest Moon again.
May be fun, but art style is just..... okayish.
This series has fallen sooo deep. I pity the fans. It must be heart-breaking for them.
