Looks like I only have Dream Daddy as a lock for a download this week. That's aight though, because I wanna get a start on Crash Racing and finish up and odd other game or so.
Mario Maker for me this week. Curious about Red Faction and Another Sight, if you're taking suggestions for reviews...
I’ve already got Graveyard Keeper ready to go! I’m likely grabbing Red Faction once I finish either Saints Row or Assassin’s Creed; I don’t like having too many open world games unfinished at once.
I’m really on the fence with Mario Maker. The closest I ever played was Mario Paint, and I’m not very creative when it comes to designing things. It would really come down to how much would I play other levels designed by folks, I suppose. Thoughts?
Smm2 is a no brainer for me so i have it preloaded ready to play tomorrow. I'm also seriously eyeing graveyard keeper like my pal @HobbitGamer, I'll get bloodstained eventually
Seeing as we’ve been starved of first party retail games since Yoshi launched in March, I for one can not wait to finally play Mario Maker 2, but I’ll be getting my physical copy tomorrow.
Anyone know what time Mario Maker 2 will be playable? I pre-purchased from the eShop.
I'll grab the Dragon Quest Builders demo since I am interested, but I will be playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for a while since I picked up last week (and completed XC2: Torna last night).
I had no idea Virtua Racing was out today!
I sadly had to cancel my Mario Maker 2 today. I just can’t right now with money and prioritizing the purchases I make at the moment.
I’ll probably grab virtua racing though since that’s much cheaper and I’ve been DYING to play that again.
Also, waiting on a physical version for DMC because I love that game!
I’m noticing a possible trend... games are releasing digital only at first with physical coming later. Do you think that’s to have the game ironed out first so you require less day one patching on the cart?
I’m looking at you Bloodstained on switch. (I love the game despite some buginess, it just sucks you have to make an example out of it.)
Also don’t forget the God Eater 3 demo, ya’ll!
Rey-ed neck skeet shooting! YEEEEEEHAAAAW
In all seriousness though, Super Luigi Maker 2 for me.
@HobbitGamer @Leuke While I can't speak to the quality of the Switch port since I have not played it, I can confirm Red Faction Guerilla is a great game. Originally played on PS3. I might just get it again at some point. The destruction engine is amazing. It's an open world game from back when open worlds were still pretty small, which is also kinda cool.
@-DG Probably midnight Eastern time. If you live in Central like I do, it'd be shortly after 11:00 PM
Dream Daddy is my dream, but I'll keep playing some XC2. I have a problem, unfortunately, with just spending hours playing "Tiger! Tiger!" so I'll try to actually progress the story in the future.
Also can't wait for my physical copy of Mario Maker 2 coming tomorrow! Playing the first and enjoyed it, and I already have an epic level design I'm planning all the way through.
EDIT: @-DG , Mario Maker 2 will be ready at 12:00 EST.
DmC deserves so much better than to be listed alphabetically among all the shovelware. Guess it's their own fault for having a late physical release. Still, I know a lot of games make it to the top of the list. Probably pay-offs.
Waiting for SMM2 to unlock. I'll wait up until midnight but not waiting up until 3AM.
Didn't know about the DQB2 demo, will give that a go while I wait for SMM2.
@Giygas_95 "Probably midnight Eastern time. If you live in Central like I do, it'd be shortly after 11:00 PM"
Does that mean the people on the West coast get to start playing at 9PM tonight? Kinda surprised their servers don't know what time zone a person is in so everyone gets it at midnight. Guess that would be a pain in the EU though. It's my first eShop pre-order.
@rjejr I would assume so, though I can't confirm that. All I know is new releases always go live for me at 11 PM. Nintendo probably just doesn't bother with the four time zones and says "screw it, close enough."
I’ll be getting Dream Daddy for sure! May pick up Super MARIO Maker 2 over the weekend
I have heard good things about Graveyard Keeper. I already played Dream Daddy on Steam and I loved it but I probably won't double dip.
Please, Nintendo, do a midnight eShop launch for SMM2.
If you've even had a passing interest in Sega's Virtua Racing, Get. This. One. It's an excellent source port of the original arcade game that Japanese account holders have been enjoying for months now! (Maybe now I'll find someone to play online with finally.)
Super Mario Maker, Dream Daddy, and Virtua Racing for me.
Wow, that’s a pretty diverse trio of games right there. Good stuff.
@Giygas_95 "doesn't bother with the four time zones"
Well growing up watching a lot of TV, way before cable much less the internet, TV shows pretty much always ran as 2 time zones. In fact I spent half my life thinking Mountain Pacific was an actual time zone. Eastern, Central, Mountain Pacific. So if Nintneod works as 2 time zones it would actually make sense to me, something that rarely happens with me and most NintendoLogic.
Finally, Virtua Racing.
Went ahead and picked CCB Pro Wrestling simply because Fire Pro Wrestling Returns might be my favorite game of all-time and I'm starved for a Switch Fire Pro. Got SMM2 coming from Best Buy tommorrow- gotta use that Gamer Club discount before it goes away.
I haven’t bought a single game all year except Yoshi (which I promptly sold). Tempted by Mario but... meh. I’ll get it used eventually.
Terraria comes out today as well. Least that's what I've herd and still hope. Been waiting so long to play it again on a handheld that's not a phone.
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/06/terraria_arrives_on_the_switch_eshop_this_week
Just waiting for SMM2 to be playable!
I'm getting Mario Maker physical. I want to see a review for Another Sight, it looks good, but not sure it's worth $40.
Ooh virtua racing! Want MotoGP19 but I think I'll snag it next week.
Mario maker 2 and Bloodstained will be here tomorrow. Red faction is on the list for next week.
I'm curious about Graveyard Keeper.
Dragon Quest Builders 2 demo! Perfect timing, too, as Final Fantasy XIV is down today while they impliment the new expansion.
@rjejr
Yes, west coasters open at 9 PM. I had actually managed to get a head start when the let's go games started because of this.
Where’s terraria? That’ll be the only thing I’m downloading this week, since Mario maker will be a physical buy for me. Lots of good games this week with bloodstained(plan on picking up physical after I get a lil ahead of my backlog and the major bugs are fixed), terraria(day 1[today] buy for me), Mario maker, and the demo of god eater 3 as well as DQB2. I’ll be busy for a while until DQB2 comes out!!!
Downloaded Mario Maker 2, I also imported Battle Cats a few days ago. (I got sick of waiting for a localization, lol)
@alexybubble Wow, that's certainly nice of them.
So does that mean you can walk into a store tonight at 9 and buy the game? If not, that would be a nice incentive to go digital on the west coast, getting games 3 hours before everyone buying physical. Would you happen to know if PSN works the same way?
Wish that SMM2 discount had not been limited to Amazon for the U.S.
Ah well, I can put my Gamestop Pro Membership and Reward Points to good use when a Pre-Owned copy pops up.
Finally!! Virtua Racing is here! I’ll grab Wonder Boy, Moto GP and Q-yo Blaster too!!
I bought Wild Western last week so waiting to see what today’s Hamster game is!
Thinking about War Tech Fighters and Red Faction.
One game that is a steaming pile of nasty crap is Q-YO Blaster! It's a 2D sidescrolling shoot em up that runs at 30fps!! Nintendo should not allow garbage like that to be published on their system. DO NOT BUY Q-YO Blaster!
Mario Maker 2 and Devil May Cry both run at 60fps and look beautiful on Switch! Buy those games!
Do yourselves a favor and get epic Astro Story. It's one of the best kairosoft games. I have all of their games on ios and I've been getting some of my favs on switch as well.
Aside from this SMM2 is a must (will arrive tomorrow hopefully) and graveyard keeper has picked my interest. Dream daddy is a guaranteed buy for me as well... gonna go broke this week
Is SMM2 officially out today? Just went to the eShop and it was still showing pre-purchase.
I'm super hyped about Dragon Quest Builders 2 so definitely getting the demo. Maybe Virtua Racing too but maybe later. The next few months will be really excruciating for the wallet.
Already in love with Dragon Quest Builders 2.
Dumb question alert: what's the season pass Gamestoppo offers with it??
Powerful Pro Baseball just came out on Switch in Japan. I wonder if it's all in Japanese like other import releases of it? I've got a version of it on Vita and it looks beautiful with high resolution 60fps gameplay. The gameplay is so fun in this baseball game! Is this new Switch game going to be translated and released in the West? I sure hope so!
I've got Super Mario Maker 2 downloaded and ready to play! I also just got Brothers since it went on sale. The "one player coop" gameplay is very cool. It also runs at 60fps which is beautiful. Lines X is also a nice game with good atmospheric music and 60fps gameplay. This contrasts with Hook, which is also a good simple puzzle game, but it runs at 30fps. It sucks to see a good, simple, puzzle game held back by a crappy frame rate! Hook is still good, totally playable, but man would it look and respond better if it ran smoothly at 60fps.
@-DG mario maker 2 should be coming out at around 12am est time
@rjejr Unfortunately, don't know about psn, as I have never preordered a game there.
@rjejr Yes, I can confirm our "midnight launches" here on the west coast are at 9:00pm. Best Buy was still open when I got my switch on launch night a few years ago lol. Makes console launches (and high profile games) really nice to be able to play a while before midnight hits!
@Dayton311 I think there's probably about 1 game year I would buy digitally just to have it at 9 rather than waiting to 12, which usually means waiting until the next morning b/c that's my bedtime. I'm planning on staying up tonight just b/c I Want to know how much of it I can play w/o NO, it's my kids game so NO is on his account. I just want to build Peach's Castle.
@alexybubble Thats ok, just thought I'd ask, thanks anyway.
It's all about Super Mario Maker 2 for me, been looking forward to playing this ever since it was first announced. I might also check out the demo for DQ Builder 2 as well.
Hope we get a review of Rally Rock n Racing. Looks like a fun little racing game from the trailer
@Fulgor_Astral Ok sure I played Grand Prix Story thru 1 time, it wasn't too bad, fairly addictive. What others can u recommend from Kairosoft? .
@Sim1 thanks for asking!! My favs are: Dungeon Village (also available on switch!), game developer story (also on switch), kairobotica and beastie bay, which sadly have more of a microtransaction focus, they are amazing, but are not available on switch.
@Fulgor_Astral Sure brother I'll give the Switch releases a shot 4 sure.
