I don't know about this article, it feels written by someone who I hope never runs Nintendo. It feels separated from reality.

For example,

You need only take a look at the PS4's line-up to understand that it is not going to any grave: Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone, The Last of Us part 2, Twin Mirror and Cyberpunk 2077. So even if Sony would announce a new console, I am not sure you could dismiss the PS4 so lightly.

Also the joy-cons, this is a recurrent theme in NL but I don't think it is all that important to consumers.

I think Nintendo just need big games, both exclusives and multiplats. We need to see Nintendo bring some IPs to the forefront of the industry and show us that they have a vision beyond re-purposing Wii U content. They did a hell of a job getting us excited with Breath of the Wild, but then they took Mario back in time (albeit with a very good game) and then they did another Smash (another great one, just more of the same).

We need a show of force from the Big N, a jaw dropping Metroid, a killer Star Fox, a balls to the wall F-Zero, etc.

I'll say goodbye when it rots in my hands. I love it.

So many people acting so offended by this petition. What the hell do you care? The funny thing is that you guys accuse the petitioners for being entitled, without realizing that it is you who are acting with entitlement. As if you were the definitive judges of what deserves or not to be remade, rebooted or put in Smash.

If you don't like this petition, because you would rather have some other character instead, then fight for it and start your own petition, but shutting down others just because your taste is different makes you an ass.

I am a huge Super Mario RPG fan, I am a 30+ Nintendo Fan. I own the original game + the Wii U Virtual console version + SNES Mini version. I think this game could be remade in a similar style to I am Setsuna and also rebooted on a similar note.

I would actually rather have Mallow on Smash than Geno, but Geno is a cool character that in spite of having a secondary role, it still managed to have a lasting impact just by being so damn cool.

You might not agree with me, and you might be a bigger fan of the Mario RPG sagas that followed this one, and that is perfectly ok. Maybe Paper Mario will be another Smash character, maybe the rest of them will be more marketing oriented, say Joker is in because Persona is coming to Switch, and maybe next we'll get Doomguy because Doom Eternal is coming, and maybe the next one will be Scorpion because of Mortal Combat. Who knows? The point is, why offend people that are rooting for their favorites?

This is probably my favorite video game of all time. The characters, the humor, the art style, the pacing, the hidden secrets, everything is brilliant about it. I hope it comes back.

I understand European gamers were left out, but this game ia the reason I could never get into either Paper Mario or the Mario and Luigi saga, those games are great on their own right, but they kept reminding me about what could've been.

Which reminds me, mobile Mario Kart is long overdue. I hope that plays good.

@Jokerwolf Xenoblade Chronicles 3D sold half a million copies which is still a decent number for that saga. Nintendo stated early on that they would still focus on games supported by the entire family, the N would just give a faster UI and a better online experience

The N3DS is a definitive example of exactly how they should go about releasing a "pro" Switch.

@Jokerwolf they learned the opposite. N3DS and N2DS both sold handsomely. You, my friend, are suffering from a case of not knowing what you're talking about.

I'd buy a Pro if it would let me have mirrored devices. I don't want to discard or sell my current console. I would leave the pro at the house, and take the regular one out and about.

@Mayor_Haggar that's it. I doubt they would over sexualize her like the internet did, but it wouldn't do any harm to retain some family-appropiate sex-appeal just to keep the fan base dreaming.

I remember Regie saying that Nintendo was very adamant about controlling the direction their IP took as the reason to why they shut down Another Metroid 2 Remake.

This is kind of similar. However, they wood be wise to create a female bowser at some point, it's obvious there is an audience.

If they put Kratos on Smash i would be the happiest person on Earth.

I have too many VC games on mine to let it go. In fact I am currently playing Breath of Fire 2, after finishing Ogre Battle 64.

I could see myself spend near 500 dollars in VC games if they don't abandon support for it. I love that I can play off tv, while my wife watches something else.

@Gen0neD valid point. If they do bring more high-tier games I could sell my PS4. Right now it is still necessary for the highest quality games. The Switch in 2018 doesn't have anything that even comes close to the visual delight of God of War.

@Gen0neD i don't know if it is an age thing, but back in the NES and SNES days, it wasn't called pixel-art it was just art. And it gave me enough variety that I didn't think anything else was necessary in video games

How about The Witcher trilogy?

The self-entitlement of some people is amazing. Smash is a beast of a game, wether you like it or not. There's no need to come up with explanations as to why it won. In fact, Nintendo knew the juggernaut it had in it's hand and that's why it launched when and how it did.

It is an amazing achievement of a game. I am enjoying it like crazy. And it doesn't take away from the quality of any other release this year. Instead of complaining, just play what you love and support it. Maybe one day your choice will be on the top of the polls, maybe it won't, it doesn't matter.

The fan list will be pretty similar, I bet.

I am in the minority, but I'd rather have Super Paper Mario over The Thousand Year Door, any day of the week. I've never been too fond of the rpg paper Mario games. I feel jaded from not having a proper sequel to Super Mario RPG The Legend of the Seven Stars.

I agree with most of your choices, but I would add Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. A DX version would be great, I love the pick-up-and-play nature of that game it is addictive and by far my most-played game on 3DS.

Someone mentioned the different Fire Emblems and I agree and I would add the Radiance Saga from Cube/Wii. And also from Intelligent Systems, Code Name S.T.E.A.M. deserves another chance. Great concept, great art.

I really love my N3DS. I could list games for ever, most have already been thrown out there: Kid Icarus: Uprising, Bravely Default and Bravely Second. And many more.

No one even mentions the game we need ported from Wii U the most, by far, without any doubt: Wii Party U.

I'll go will kill myself.

I'd rather have both Viewtiful Joe games than Wonderful 101.

I sent most of my love towards The Messenger. What a game.

I got it on my Switch and had a blast!

@hatch I also own a PS4 and I use it to shoot stuff.

It's my go-to game ok Switch, between Smash games.

The switch is great, but we need more library to judge it.

If MK XI is coming to Switch, we should have Scorpion in Smash.

It gets an Excellent review and I got a lot flack from criticizing it, but the more I see from this game, the more it looks to me like a giant pile of crap.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I don't have any inclination to spend a dollar on it.

I just got Doom for Switch less than a month ago (I already owned it in PS4), and I have actually played it on par with Smash since I got the latter.

I would've bought it the minute it came out. Shame.

This is the best Sony year ever. Truly God of War deserves everything. Brutal and awesome game.

LOL.... I love that the hoola hoop game doesn't even show the thing spinning, it's out of frame. It is all about those bouncy fun-bags, which is how mature people like myself refer to women's breasts.

I used to destroy with Pikachu on Smash 64, but from then on I never played much Smash. Hoping to turn that around with Ultimate.

I don't know, the game is like 64 gigas on PS4.

I honestly don't mind. I play mostly at home anyway, but I find it funny that it is a common part of any review of Nintendo Switch, specially ports, that you "can play it on the bus".

I guess that's why I usually end up favoring the PS4 on multiplatforms.

I love it when you guys say that you play on the bus. I get a little envious. I cannot even send texts on the bus where I live, without fear of being mugged.

@BladedKnight I don't think you know what you're talking about. If no one cares about NES games, why did the NES Mini sold like crack? Even bigger numbers than the SNES.

I understand why the strategy upsets you, because I share some of your reasoning. But the truth is that Nintendo knows how many people are playing with their current service and they probably have coherent reasons to justify their strategy. I, myself have a ton of friends that skipped both Wii and Wii U, and are having a blast with those nostalgia games. I'm bored, I've played Metroid more times than anyone should in the 21st century, I don't plan on doing it again, however, bunch of friends are nuts about it.

@JasmineDragon I didn't count it 'cos I haven't played it. I played both the first one and X.

However it adds to my point, I think. It shows what the machine is capable of and yet these games are in the minority, whereas you see on PS4 the catalog for this type of game is endless.

Maybe it has to do with different audiences, but i would love to fill my Switch with big adventure games.

The Switch needs more big games. I can't believe that we have no original title in the scale of Breath of the Wilds, except for ports of Diablo III, Dark Souls and maybe LA Noire. I'm talking about big action-adventure-RPG With big worlds and big stories.

I love my Nindies, The Messenger is my most played game besides BotW, but still.

The Marvel game I've enjoyed the most, was X Men: Mutant Apocalypse on the SNES. I played the hell out of that game.

You know what would take them out of trouble? Teaming up with Nintendo on the long overdue sequel to Super Mario RPG The Legend of the Seven Stars.
