Re: Guide: The Best Metroid Games - Every Metroid Game Ranked

Al_Godoy

I don't know about this list, really... I love Prime, but Super Metroid is a game I've played so much and I enjoy so much. I couldn't possibly put it second. I mean, it's hard for me to even think of other Nintendo games I have loved as much. But it's ok, I like controversy best-of lists

@kuromantic I did not discriminate, I merely described some of the things he posts about. "Sexually confused" and "man-child" could be considered insults, but I would let him marry a chibi shirless ripped male, I would bake their cake. But the man is further way from me in video game taste than my 13 year old niece. That's why I said: let him be. I mean, this was by far the best character intro in the history of smash.

Re: The Top 10 Best-Selling Nintendo 3DS Games (As Of June 2018)

Al_Godoy

@Dogorilla nice going on that Internet Browser! BTW my top 10 most played isn't my top 10 favorite either, but it is a fun statistic. My no1 is fire Emblem Awakening for a looooooot and I don't consider ir my favourite game, however it got me thinking about getting FE Fates, since I clearly love playing strategy games.

This is where I've always felt a disconnect with Nintendo's handheld community. Of that entire list I only own Mario Kart 7 and 3D Land and Mario 2. I don't care much about Pokemon, I've never had any interest in Animal Crossing or Tomodachi Life. My top 10 most played 3DS games according to system data are:
1. Fire Emblem Awakening
2. A Link Between Worlds
3. Metroid Samus Returns
4. Tom Clancy's Ghost Protocol
5. Fire Emblem Echos
6. Ocarina of Time
7. Mario Kart 7
8. Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D
9. DKCR
10. Majora's Mask.

Re: Feature: Talking Super Smash Bros. Ultimate With Nintendo's Bill Trinen And Nate Bihldorff

Al_Godoy

I think people are confusing: New entry, sequel and port.

So Majora's Mask was a sequel to Ocarina of Time. Just like Super Mario Galaxy 2 was a sequel to 1. But Twilight Princess was a new entry in the Zelda series, just like Super Mario Odyssey. But Twilight Princess HD was a port.

Having said that, I think that the new Smash could be placed somewhere between new entry and sequel, from what they've shown.

Re: Review: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (3DS)

If I double dip it would be with this version and not the Switch one. Mostly for portability. I used to take my Switch out more, but now is more of a home console, even if I play in handheld mode, I still do it in the house for some reason.

Re: Nintendo's Share Price Falls Yet Again With A Lack Of Game Announcements Possibly To Blame

Al_Godoy

@ekwcll yes but meh.

I'm very excited about Fire Emblem Three Houses, but I felt they didn't show enough. I think they should try to show something from the next Pokemon game. We should have a better teaser from Metroid Prime 4 than just the title card from 2 years ago. And maybe show a couple of title cards for games further away on the horizon. A new F-Zero or whatever.

I appreciate Nintendo having it's own strategy as opposed to Sony or some developers that show games many years in advance, but they should also consider that many gamers are used to that, and get pumped for games that way.

In any case, I'm a happy Switch owner, and I'm currently going through Doom, with ocasional rounds of Fortnite. But I don't see myself buying any new Switch exclusive until Fire Emblem comes out.... I'm still on the fence about Smash, since I own and still play the Wii U game. So probably investors think that many gamers have a viewpoint similar to mine. Specially on a year that Sony is pumping out game of the year material like Spiderman, The Last of Us 2 and God of War.

Re: Nintendo Download: 28th June (North America)

Al_Godoy

I'm getting Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. Loved the first one on PS4 and loved Doom both on Switch and PS4, and since playing it on Switch I decided that this was the way to go with this kind of game. Aa good handheld FPS is a dream come true for me. Nintendo should try to do their own IP first person shooter.

Re: Nintendo's Share Price Plummets In Response To E3 Direct

Al_Godoy

@Hyrule like I said, Nintendo has always been my main console, I've been playing Nintendo consoles and games for 30 years. I do believe that this was a poor E3, and the fact that Nintendo's shares drop show that I'm not in the minority.

I'd like my favorite videogame company to succeed, but having a PS4 during what I believe to be Sony's most stellar year in a decade, has made me worried about Nintendo and has brought a lot of memories of the Wii U drought days which were awful.

Re: Nintendo's Share Price Plummets In Response To E3 Direct

Al_Godoy

I have to say that my Switch, has been gathering dust next to my PS4. I like Smash, but I'm not crazy about it and I've never been into Pokémon. So this direct was a let down for me. Even Yoshi would've been great for me.

At least I'm still enjoying God of War, Monster Hunter World and I'm looking forward to the Last of Us 2 and Spiderman.

Re: Soapbox: Why A Nintendo 64 Classic Edition Might Not Be Such A Good Idea

Al_Godoy

It is kind of useless to argue in favour of something not happening. If the writer really thinks that it is not a good idea, he shouldn't buy it if and when it comes out. But no matter how well thought out or how well reasoned your opinion may be, the truth is that there is a market out there for this product and the line-up will be as good as it can be, and most of us would be interested in buying it.

Re: Preview: Getting Funky in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on Switch

Al_Godoy

This is a great fun tough game. However my new setup allows me to play my Switch and my Wii U with a simple push of a button. Yes, I am bragging. Play this if you have the courage.

And, contrary to what some our regular profesional complainers might say, this is a very polished game, with tight controls and beautiful visuals, so it does feel triple A.

Re: This Is What Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Looks Like In Action

Al_Godoy

Thank the videogame gods that the PS4 is having a stellar year. This direct was disappointing. Portfest for me: I already own Southpark on PS4, Dark Souls on PS4, Hyrule Warrios on both Wii U and N3DS, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker on Wii U.

Then you get the new games and this one looks average at best, Mario Tennis and Smash are not my favorites but I get that some people love them.

My biggest highlights: Luigi's Mansion 3DS and Octopath Traveler (for which I was already on board).
