The No More Heroes spin-off Travis Strikes Again is one of the first titles arriving on the Switch in 2019. The Grasshopper Manufacture release is essentially a bunch of mini-games starring Travis and Badman, who find themselves trapped inside the Death Drive Mark II - a phantom console from the '90s.
In the previous trailer, we got a look at the "Electric Thunder Tiger II" video game and the latest clip shows off the "Life Is Destroy" game, set in suburbia. It will include more high-tempo hack-and-slash gameplay and requires Travis Touchdown and Badman to take down Mr. Doppelganger.
Take a look at the new trailer above, and in case you missed it, view the trailer for the first in-game game below:
In addition to all of these different games, there will be a season pass for two DLC packs. For more details about this, check out our previous post.

That trailer still does nothing to get me interested. The game looks bland to me. Hope I'm wrong.
I think it looks pretty cool and unique. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a video game that looks like this before.
I really hope we get the first two games on the Switch.. hell- a third chapter would be fun too! This collection of mini games seems half arsed...
What a masquerade... :/
THIS is an extremely low budget game with a No More Heroes skin on it.
People should boycott that "thingy" otherwise it could become trendy to do that everytime...
oh no.. no more please
@Cobalt That seems a tad extreme. It might not be triple A budget but it's hardly low effort. Calling for people to boycott this game is unwarranted. I think it looks quite the ride and hope it brings NMH to the Switch
I don’t like the look of it so everyone must boycott it! Oh dear 🤔🙄. Personally never played the first ones so can’t judge.
@Cobalt
The universe doesn't revolve around you, buddy.
@BenGrimm Well, don’t mind NL’s resident Negative Nancy. He’s here to post cynical and pessimistic troll crap about the Switch and its content no matter what. It can be all positive news and he’s there to put his negative spin on it. So just LOL at the boycott comment and ignore him.
I’ll wait with my judgement of the game until it’s out. In some ways it looks cool and interesting, in some ways it don’t. But we haven’t had the opportunity to play it yet. I bet it will end up a perfectly playable spinoff. Probably not a masterpiece, but a fun time.
This looks about as exciting as a glass of water.
This looks like epelispy incarnate and I love it
@Cobalt negative Nancy strikes again!
If you hate everything that gets posted on this site mate, You have a choice, don't visit it. Problem for you is solved. Your welcome
I love Suda's sense of style. I just hope this game is even more bonkers than the trailers we've been shown. I have faith.
Is that some ‘all your base’ type grammar?
@Cobalt Or maybe people should ignore you instead.
Calling for boycott just because it doesn’t appeal to you is way too much. You should be ashamed of your own comments. Specially coming from a fellow developer (if you truly are a developer, that’s it).
I don’t even know what are you doing here since the ONLY thing you do is complain and talk trash.
@westman98: I don't think he said it did. It is simply pathetic how you and some others constantly riff on the guy even when he says virtually the same thing as others. Comment #1, #3, #5 and #11 are just as negative, yet for some reason @Cobalt is an idiot, a troll, and what have you. Just because he isn't necessarily correct in thinking that the success (or far more likely, the lack thereof) of this minigame collection will decide the future of the series, doesn't mean you are entitled to mock him every single post he makes. You nor the others ever even disprove anything or explain why you think he's (always, necessarily) wrong! All you keep on doing is saying "ha ha your stoopid" every single time! What a joke.
By the way, there's an 'ignore' button for people whose opinions you don't want to read.
@BenGrimm: I played the first ones (aka the actual games) and my thoughts are summed up perfectly by @janpampoen's comment. None of what made those games great is in here.
Besides, it seems most of you are forgetting the whole reason why people are so disappointed: in the very beginning, it was mentioned that a new No More Heroes game was coming to the Switch. Months later it turned out to be this collection of minigames. It's like if Nintendo had said "Pokémon is coming to the Switch!", millions of people got excited and anxious to learn more, then months later "It's finally here, Pokémon Quest!"
It's all going to come down to the strength of each mini game individually. If there is a lot of replay value with each game, chasing scores, perhaps even leaderboards then this could be one to look forward to. I remember enjoying a mini game collection on DS, I forget the name of it. It was set in a boys bedroom and I think he got sucked into the console and had to play retro games to escape.
Retro Game Challenge, just popped into my head.
@c2018nlifemedia There’s a difference between being critical when it’s legitimate and always being negative about everything. Of course this game is disappointing for people who were expecting a NMH3, but saying that it needs to be boycotted is not him being critical, it’s him hoping to stir some crap up as he often is trying to do with his comments. It’s an over the top statement that perfectly fits with his modus operandi around here.
I can understand if someone says that the game doesn’t look like fun or that they are disappointed with it not being a full fledged follow up to the previous games, but it doesn’t look like the train wreck Cobalt is describing.
Seeing how Cobalt spends his time here, I think it’s fair to call it trolling. It’s not just this post. See his comment as part of a bigger picture and you’ll see he’s everywhere there’s Switch related content, raining on everybody’s parade.
As I said: this game looks like it can be really fun, but I can be wrong. We’ll wait and see.
Edit: Hmm... Signed up today, this being the first post... Sock puppet account?
I'm still pretty lukewarm on this game. I just don't have enough info on it to base a decision yet. I need an idea of the other minigames, and exactly how prominent these minigames are in this game.
Because, if there are enough of these minigames to make up the bulk of the experience, and it's not just that hack-n-slash gameplay we saw for 90% of the game. I can see myself enjoying this enough for the 40 dollar pricetag.
But if this is mostly just the hack-n-slash, it might be something I buy much later down the road for 15-20 bucks second-hand.
@c2018nlifemedia Thank you dude.
I could say that the rain is wet and I don't like being wet, a lot of people here will complain that I'm negative, stupid and uncivil...
I'm confused what do you get and what's the season pass for?
At a time when we are spoiled for choices on the Switch (and the other 2 big ones) not to be overly harsh, but personally I don’t see the draw of this. But to each their own! Honestly, watching that reminded me that Furi is on sale and I should probably pick it up! 😋
@Cobalt I don't get your comment to be honest
Why are you so scared that people go and buy something they will enjoy because you don't ? are you that selfish that you want switch to have only the games you like?
From this point on, we are not allowed to buy games unles cobalt tells us we should, because that way companies will make the games he (and only he) wants to play.
This is really childish of your part, your comment doesnt add anything, it's pretty worthless, selfish and egocentric imo
@c2018nlifemedia did you seriously create a new profile just to defend yourself? Hahahaha no way, now I've seen it all
@Cobalt
Though luck, boy, because I'll buy it! It looks like fun (especially in co-op).
@Quarth: It's hard to take your objections to melodramatic comments very seriously when most Switch games reviewed on this website are either the best games of all time (8/10, 9/10, 10/10) or the worst ever (4/10) - for the record, I don't agree nor disagree with the exaggerated reviews and review scores (and you can certainly say that exaggeration is the way all review mags/sites work), but they aren't all that different from some guy who's exaggerating his disappointment in much of what's been, being or going to be released and in the people who go out and buy games that are just 'okay' because someone's been hyping them up about it, thereby perpetuating mediocrity. Either way, if you don't like what he's saying or don't like the way he says things, just don't read his comments. The ignore button works perfectly so long as you're logged in and you aren't blocking JavaScript.
@Faruko: I'm pretty sure his point is just that he wants a real No More Heroes game and fears that if lots of people were to purchase this one (which I doubt), and because a full-fledged game takes more time to develop than some minigames, the developers might only make No More Heroes minigames anymore. Nice refutation of a strawman, though.
@janpampoen Glances back at the glass of water that’s literally behind him I totally get what you’re saying, but my glass of water has a pretty cool reflection of the lamp’s light!
I’m still waiting for reviews for this one, though I would really like to support the franchise.
@c2018nlifemedia Why are you bringing exaggerated reviews into the discussion? Did I mention reviews somewhere in my comment? What does it have to do with someone constantly trolling this website? Nice red herring there...
I’m not saying one can’t be critical, but if you look at the bigger picture, you’ll see that this isn’t the purpose of that account. He has an agenda: he’s making over-exaggerated comments like this, not as an opinion, but posing as it’s ”the truth”, just to put Nintendo and the Switch in a negative light.
Just an interesting side note: on average NL grades lower than other critics. https://www.metacritic.com/publication/nintendo-life?filter=games&%3Bnum_items=30&%3Bsort_options=critic_score&%3Bdist=neutral&%3Bpage=38&page=95
@gortsi Yeah, it feels like an obvious sock puppet.
@Quarth: My sentence was a bit long, but the answer to your question was right after: "they aren't all that different from some guy who's exaggerating his disappointment".
This game sure seems to have been in development a long time. Looks intriguing but there are definitely other games coming in 2019 that will have my priority.
@c2018nlifemedia He’s not just exaggerating his disappointment. If you look at his history at NL, he’ clearly trolling with his comments stated as facts and his constant negativity and bashing of Nintendo and the Switch.
But OK... Let’s look at your argument: so we’re getting hyped for this game because NL wants us to believe it’s worth getting all hyped about, resulting in us later on buying it though it’s clearly mediocre, which will lead to no more NMH main games, but more of this sort of spinoff stuff.
First of all: there’s nothing wrong with hype, as long as you take it with a grain of salt. And as a consumer, today you have a lot of possibilities checking out if a game will suit you or not.
Second: what indicates this game will be mediocre? Sure, it’s not a full fledged NMH game, but what says it won’t work as it’s own thing?
Third: It’s a spinoff. Nothing indicates this won’t lead to a ”real” NMH game in the future. That’s just speculation.
All in all it sounds like you’re looking down on people thinking this game looks fine or people being excited about it. In your world, you’ve already decided it’s mediocre and therefore boycotting it doesn’t sound outlandish, it’s just an exaggerated opinion from someone who wants us consumers the best, as if we’re mindless sheeps, not able to make up our own opinions. But in reality, our friend Cobalt just wants to piss us off. Nothing more.
I wonder about this game, it looked like a lot of fun. Yet it also risks being thin in its offer. I might give it the benefit of the doubt, just because I love the eccentric stuff it has.
@Quarth: I don't disagree with any of that. All I said was that you should reply with that sort of stuff to @Cobalt rather than sending out byte-sized "u suck" statements that add even less to the discussion than his "constant negativity and bashing of Nintendo and the Switch". Again, several other people are just as negative about this game, yet he's the only one who got told he's a dumb troll. Ironically, the people telling him he's a stupid idiot at the very same time also claim he's acting childish. If you really think someone is a troll fishing for attention, why reply at all?
@c2018nlifemedia I’m not talking about his specific post in this thread. I’m talking about his overall history on NL, of which this comment is a part. If you take it all together it’s clear as day that he’s not a concerned customer of this particular title, but a basher of most things coming to the Switch.
And my original comment in this thread was a reply to another user not to take Cobalt seriously and ignore him. Then I chimed in with my take on the game. And then you appeared freshly out of nowhere to defend Cobalt and call us others out, and that’s why I responded to you and elaborated why people reacted against him as he has a history of outlandish comments here. I already have him on ignore, but see others responses to him.
I’ll leave it at that. Bye!
@hatch
I definitely agree. It looks exactly like the previous minigame. When they announced the game they said it would not be no more heroes 3. I think they said it would be minigames too
@hatch Yeah, that’s the part of the game that might be problematic. Hopefully there’s more variety to it than what’s shown in the trailers. But other than that it looks cool and I’m curious to see where it will land. We’ll know soon enough.
@hatch Yeah, let us wait for reviews and more in-depth gameplay videos. I thought Diablo III looked kinda stale at first, but it’s certainly not.
@hatch That ending with the kid reminds me of the short, weird commercials that Adult Swim used to put on.
Looks like a lame version of Jedi Power Battles on the og PlayStation.
@Cobalt "it could become trendy to do that every time"
You mean like $60 old games and 2X more expensive mobile ports?
Some crazy misguided sense of loyalty sailed that ship ages ago.
This would have red flags on any platform (people just trying to give it a pass like Gear.Club2 because it is on Switch) Maybe as a Mobile game it would fit in - but most would not pay £24.99 for it on the AppStore anyway.
Although I can see some appeal, in a Wario Ware X Travis style, this is not for me. I hope a demo is released, so everyone can properly experience and try this out...
@Agramonte
I think it's always interesting to check out the past time.
Nintendo fans were proud to have full games at launch with no DLCs because YA KNO' DLCs are crap.
Nintendo started to follow the trend with DLCs and now Nintendo fans are happy with DLCs (even with tricky ones like Amiibos).
Nintendo fans were so proud of their FREE ONLINE because YA KNO', on other platforms you have to pay to play online and it's a shame to pay for that.
Nintendo started to follow the trend with no free online anymore and now Nintendo fans explain that it's not a problem because you have 3 free NES roms to play in the package... :/
Nintendo fans were so proud of their original librairy of games because YA KNO', on other platforms it's so bad with all the amounts of ports from the previous generation blah blah blah...
Nintendo started to follow the trend with dozens of ports on the Switch and now Nintendo fans scream that it's a great thing to have almost only ports on Switch...
etc...etc...etc...
So, why couldn't I imagine that Travis Strikes Again sells well and because of that, we're gonna get a REAL No More Heroes...
Maybe to get another Metroid Prime we'll have to buy first a port of Federation Force... why not ?
Maybe to get another FZERO we'll have to buy first a mobile FZERO Adobeflash style... why not ?
Hope you're gonna get my point...?^^
@Cobalt
This looks like a bot post. What is wrong with you?
Attacking someone’s grammar = having no arguments. Oh well... Another troll to put on the ignore list.
This looks bonkers. And the graphical "style" is Suda's signature eye-searing hodgepodge.
Welcome back, man.
@Cobalt
@PrincessBowsette
@NintenGuy
C'mon guys, it's Christmas, give it a rest.
@Pod i m done with these guys but apparently these 2 wont stop.
@Pod Merry christmas!
@Pod
I don't like liars but you're right Pod.
@Quarth
💁
@Pod i agree the game looks awesome going to give it a shot.
@Pod
Like I said. The game looks like a big shiny turd. That's just my opinion. Like most I rather have a proper NMH 3. I'm going to gamefly this for sure. My opinion might change. ARMS looked like hot trash and I ended up loving it. So we'll see. Happy Kwanzaa!
@NintenGuy stop swearing and being rude.
@PrincessBowsette stop being conflictive, ignore others if they bother you.
@Cobalt stop being unpleasant. Getting into petty arguments over grammar and derailing a comment thread for it is not a good look.
If any of you get into an argument again, you'll get a ban.
@Delibheel
Will do. Happy Hanukkah!
@Delibheel
Being unpleasant ? Hum I'm ok with that but this has to be apply to everyone then...
Merry Christmas.
@c2018nlifemedia are you his PR person?
let him answer thank you, i have nothing to talk with you
More like Franchise Is Destroy.
@Velocirapstar
Lol! Indeed.
@Velocirapstar Jumping to conclusions are we? Let us wait and see. God jul, min vän!
@JaxonH A video game within a videogame.
@Cobalt Man your points are so bad it's laughable
here comes another "i'm so better than most of you NINTENDO FANBOIS, HA HA HA, I KNOW IT ALL"
@gortsi @Quarth Wow, just trying to get my head around this - so the clown got his card pulled, a new account suddenly and suspiciously appears out of nowhere to defend the clown's honour playing the "leave the poor helpless guy alone" card, then suddenly the clown reappears to thank his knight in shining armour? I can't believe I nearly missed this one!
How many sock puppets can one poster have, is there a limit? I might set myself up a handful in case someone starts on me...
@WiltonRoots Yeah, that's what I suspect. The account hasn't been used since this conversation, but I bet it becomes more active if the main account ever gets banned. But I don't think the main user is the first one either.
@Quarth yeah it's a bit like having a couple of power banks for your phone or Switch - the battery starts to run low, plug it in, when that runs low you have a backup. I'm just surprised this site lets crap like this go on for so long.
@WiltonRoots Good analogy. Yeah, it’s puzzling, as there are rules against trolling and having sock puppets, but well well..
