I don't think you should make this article. While it's nice that you're promoting the community, raising awareness of fan games will catch Nintendo's attention and will probably shut them down
I'm kinda worried about the animators for the Sonic movie. Say what you want about how bad it is, but the truth is making any kind of animation requires a lot time and effort and the animators are doing the best they can with what they've got. But with the news of the redesign, I'm hoping the movie at least gets delayed a few more months because if not, then I'd imagine the animators would have to crunch and stay behind in bad conditions to do a lot more work within a short period of time
Crunch is big problem with the video game industry nowadays. It sucks to see these employees going through really tough times and taking an emotional toll on their brains. I hope things do change for the future
While I'm glad to hear that he's listening to the criticisms, I'm also somewhat skeptical. Whenever a trailer is shown with a bunch of clips, that's generally a sign that a large amount of work has already been done. Trying to redesign sonic while the movie is still being made means that the entire movie crew probably has to reshoot most of the scenes they already done. Although I'm not a movie creator so I could be wrong
It's honestly feels crazy that the 3ds was released back in 2011 and Nintendo managed to keep it strong for 8 years. Pretty much shows that Nintendo is the king when it comes to dedicated portable gaming
Some arcade on rail shooters would be nice like House of the Dead, Time Crisis or even Link's Crossbow Training. I can also see Captain Toad getting Labo support as well since that game is pretty simple
Good to hear that development on MK11 on Switch is going well. I'm looking forward to see how the game looks. Netherealm has a good history of porting their games on mobile, so I think they can do the Switch port well
I personally prefer Nintendo to release the Switch mini in 2019 and have the Pro model to be released in 2020 but if they're going to release both in 2019, that's okay with me as long as Nintendo finds a way to make sure that the two models don't clash with each other
Looks interesting but I'll wait and see if it's actually worth it. I much prefer physical media and while I like cloud streaming, not everyone has a very fast internet connection
Overall, I really enjoyed the reveal trailer and I am absolutely pumped for this game. The world, starters, and characters look amazing and I can't wait to get this game. With that said though, here are my two cents on the complaints I've read. -"The game looks like an HD Sun and Moon": I agree that it's not the most impressive looking game out there but the visuals are WAY better than the 3DS. There's a lot vibrance and lush to the world and more detail thanks to the Switch's hardware compared to SM. -"It's not open world"- While I think the old format can be tiring, it's important to realize that making a good open world game is very difficult especially if you're trying to be ambitious like BOTW. It would take a lot time, money, and resources to make a good open world and I don't think Game Freak has enough experience to do it yet. Also, there are a lot of design challenged that Game Freak would have to do to make an open world Pokemon game. The advantage of linearity is that it's simple to follow whereas open world is more complex, and since Pokemon is designed for children, an open world would be too overwhelming for them. I do think some open world ideas should be implemented like dynamic weather but I think the best approach for a more open Pokemon game would be like old 3d Zelda where the area is open but if you want to progress the story, get to certain areas, you need to take a certain path. But overall, I'm okay with the linearity and it's important to note that moving to open world won't work for everything
@MimoDX2 Yeah I agree. I think are some big design challenges that the developers have to face when making a completely open world Pokemon game. But I do think they should add some free open world elements like being able to roam wherever you want or maybe choosing any order of gym leaders you want while having some linearity, like if you want to advance the story or gain access to certain areas, you are required to take a specific path or something
I'm hoping it will be more of an open world Pokemon game. The old format was great and it was nice seeing Sun and Moon changing things up a bit but Pokemon should get a massive change like Zelda especially on the Switch which is way more powerful than the 3DS. Nevertheless still hyped
It's really nice to see Sony and Microsoft bidding farewell to Reggie. I'm going to miss him a lot and hope that Reggie does well in his future. Reggie = Legend
I think this video by Extra Credits where they talk about game addiction(or game compulsion for a better term) is something that's worth looking into https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5RSngCFpsc
Makes sense. This is a great way for newcomers to get into the Switch with a lower budget. Plus, with Pokemon and Animal Crossing coming, a Switch mini would help increase hardware and software sale for Nintendo
I think it's important to realize that games that are in the middle of development tend to look pretty ugly. Things run at 5 frames per second, a lot of bugs, animations look wrong, etc. Given the fact Nintendo really focuses on quality control, I'm assuming something went wrong within development that made Prime 4 getting delayed
I'd honestly would rather have him get fired that for him to stay given the fact that his track record on business and relations with his employees are pretty poor. If he's staying, then I hope Nintendo of Europe will keep a close on him and make the reforms necessary to make Nintendo of Russia safe
Can this site seriously stop bringing up Michael Pachter? The guy has proven numerous times that he doesn't know anything and only makes stupid random predictions only to be false. Also the guy even disrespected Iwata which already shows that he doesn't understand gaming
Honestly, I'm glad something like this happened. AtGames have constantly made bad product after bad product without any improvements or even bother listening to the criticism. I hope they realize that what they did was a big mistake and try to improve or at least apologize to their consumers.
As someone who is a fan of rock and heavy metal music and also plays multiple instruments and draws, I'm really digging Rosalina's new design. She looks a lot more awesome and punk rock-ish. And the cross on her hair is a nice touch too
Sorry but I ain't buyin a game from a company that treated their employees badly. If Telltale wants my support on finishing the Walking Dead and other games, then they better rehire the 250 workers and give them severance
I think it's defintitely possible. Injustice 2 and Mortal Kombat X both came to mobile devices and while the gameplay was completely different from that on the consoles, admittedly it's impressive how the developers manage to take the character models and environments and scaled them down to run on weak hardware. So overall, I think the Switch is capable of running Injustice
