Re: Nintendo Releases Official Switch 'First Time Use' Guide Video

123akis

It's 4 days until launch and we still haven't seen what the eShop looks like! And is the switch even gonna have achievements? I shall hope so! I'm guessing we'll see the eShop tomorrow from the nindies showcase.

Oh, and here's my impressions of the switch London event I went to yesterday, copied from my facebook post and edited...

The Switch event was really good! Although we only had 2 hours there, we played a lot but the time went by soo quick! Got to feel the console and play it... we played zelda breath of the wild, 1-2 switch, ARMS and Splatoon 2. However, didn't have time to play snipperclips and mario kart 8 deluxe (already have MK8 on Wii U anyway).

I like how the console feels, the screen, the joy cons feels comfy and the HD rumble vibration was really good. When I undocked the console whilst playing Zelda BOTW, I thought the screen looked amazing! However, one thing I was dissapointed with this event, is that I only had 10 mins to play zelda and my time felt rushed. And 1-2 switch, I was impressed by how fun it was with my friend! We was able to play quick draw, cow milk and counting balls... soo much fun!! And splatoon 2, I'm really looking forward to it, the joy cons in the grip feels very comfortable. And arms was fun as well.

Re: You'll Only Have Access To 25.9GB Of The Nintendo Switch's 32GB Of Storage

tbh I'm not too surprised. I'll be going mainly physical anyway, but I'm definitely gonna get a 200gb or 256gb micro sd card at some point. Something I can't wait for is this Sunday... because I'm going to the London switch play event! In the meantime, I've been enjoying my new mini nes that I got brand new for £50 last week from my local game store

Re: Video: Alex Shares His First Impressions Of The Nintendo Switch With Nintendo UK

@maceng Long story short, the Switch is too expensive. Points 1, 2, 5 and 7 all comes under costs. I do feel that Nintendo can sometimes be stingy when it comes to pricing things. I just hope that by the end of this year, we'll get better for value bundles and the accessories go down in price.

And about third party games, I definitely agree with you on that, so basically we can't complain about that yet because there's no announcements but they really should get a move on.

On a side note... it's funny how the Nintendolife community is always arguing in the comments!

Re: First Impressions: Back on Track with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

123akis

@bofis Considering there's no backwards compatibility, I doubt it. The joy cons is like wiimotes but much more enhanced. And the Wii U pro controller? hmm that's a hard question but I doubt that as well, because Nintendo would want you to use the switch pro controller.

Re: Video: Alex Shares His First Impressions Of The Nintendo Switch With Nintendo UK

@SLIGEACH_EIRE I'll dispute the things you said one by one:
1) Price: £280 is not even a bad price. I find it strange how people nowadays aren't willing to pay for something good!
2) Poor storage: Buy a micro sd card. You have to understand that flash storage is still expensive. Think about it, how expensive is it to get a phone with 64gb compared to 32gb? Exactly. If they put more storage, it would have increased the price significantly. At least you don't need to install your physical games.
3) Specs: It's a portable console, hence you can't expect the best specs! Yh I know there's gaming laptops that has good specs, but they cost a lot of money, much more than £280!
4) Terrible online arrangement: We hardly know any details about the online. And what what you rather, have free online that isn't good or paid online that's actually good? Exactly.
5) 1,2 switch not bundled: Just buy it when it gets cheaper, yh it would have been better if it was bundled, but it isn't.
6) Lack of third party games: There's still more to be confirmed.
7) Expensive accessories: You don't necessarily need to buy more joy cons. Yh I get the pro controller is expensive, but at least you have the joy cons and the joy con holder.

Re: Feature: What We Expect from the Nintendo Switch Presentation

123akis

This is what I'm gonna do tomorrow: As soon as I get home I will take a shower as usual, then will watch the Nintendo Switch conference. So before I do that, I will not look at news, emails, youtube, facebook etc. You may think that's crazy but I personally prefer to watch the conference before looking at anything else. It's impossible that I can wake up in time for 4am. 😂

I'm excited, there's gonna be surprises but I am keeping my expectations realistic also with hopes.

Re: Hackers Apparently Add Additional Games to NES Mini

123akis

"but instead we're left with the default 30 forever more."

Nope, I'm left with 0 because it's impossible to buy this system for it's actual price of £50!

I really hope Nintendo brings this back in stock, I'm honestly thinking they are doing it on purpose, surely if they genuinely didn't intend these stock issues, they would have learnt from the past!!

Re: Nintendo Treehouse to Provide 'In-Depth Look' at Nintendo Switch Games on 13th January

123akis

Why so soon after the presentation!? I live in England, so for me the Nintendo switch presentation takes place at 4am on Friday 13th January. On the same day (Friday), I have lessons, and the first thing I'm gonna do when I get home at around 3:45 is watch the Nintendo Switch presentation. Therefore, I can't watch the treehouse livestream, live! I'm sure Nintendo will upload the best bits so I might watch them.

Re: Nintendo Slams 3DS Homebrew App Which Enables Piracy With Takedown Notice

123akis

@nhSnork That's what demos are for. If there isn't a demo, then there's reviews and videos. Also, you can buy it and then sell it. Or, just wait until its price drops.

Edit: Ok I don't see the problem in downloading a game illegally to try it, but let's say you play it for half an hour and you like it, then you have to buy it, otherwise it's just wrong. But sadly most people won't do that. So the best options are the ones I memotioned above.

Re: Nintendo Slams 3DS Homebrew App Which Enables Piracy With Takedown Notice

123akis

If people want a digital copy of their games, then they'll purchase it from the eShop. It's that simple! It does not matter whether the developer had good intentions or not, it's still illegal because most people using it are probably gonna use it to download games that they don't own. Not only that, but this tool allows people to download a game they own and then sell it! For me personally, I am completely against piracy, the developers deserves money for their hard work! Look at what happened to the DS, it got hacked to the point where it heavily damaged profits.

Re: GameSeek Offers 'Price Guarantee' Nintendo Switch Pre-Order for Just Under £200

123akis

WARNING!! Gameseek will take out the money instantly if you pre order from them! I was just about to pre order it from them but on the checkout process I was concerned because it said "pay £198.50 now with card" so then I phoned them up to make sure and they said payment will be taken instantly. I asked why and said other retailers don't take payment until the item is dispatched but they said they don't do that. But other than that, they are a great site to order games from because they are cheapest, I've ordered many games from them in the past but I never pre ordered from them before.

Re: Poll: The Wii U is Four Years Old, But What Is Its Legacy?

123akis

I've had the Wii U since a month after it came out. To me, it's a fantastic console because it has soo many awesome games such as Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, XCX, DK country tropical freeze, Mario Kart 8... and many more! And some games made great use of the gamepad's second screen! However, the third party support is a major flaw, the online could be improved and the UI is a bit clunky.
