Re: Senran Kagura Producer Leaves Marvelous After Frustrations Over Sexual Content Restrictions

-Juice-

@Rika_Yoshitake Anti-SJWs are just as bad, if not worse. Then again, I'm a Christian, one of the original SJWs.

Media like this distorts the human perception of what sex is. Something that is a mutual act gets turned into a one-way selfish act forced upon others.

@Dilated Jesus says that the world being that way is sinful, and those that look down at others trying to make their way with contempt instead of compassion will be turned away from him. You are making a mistake by treating others like this, a grievous one.

Re: Video: The Doom Annihilation Movie Looks Absolutely Horrifying

-Juice-

@Coffee_Drinker Sure he is. It just takes a good filmmaker that understands the character. What is the DOOM Slayer? Someone blessed by a Seraphim to never die and boast incredible strength. Who does he hunt? Demons.

All you have to do is make a movie from the perspective of the demons, and then make the DOOM Slayer a horror/slasher monster equivalent. Suddenly the mystery and lack of characterisation he has besides his wrath is no longer a problem.

Re: Pokémon Sword And Shield Revealed For Nintendo Switch, New Starters Shown

-Juice-

@Hughesy This is straight up false. Pokemon had always been relatively challenging up until gen 6. You can absolutely notice the challenge drop off, and interviews with the devs showcase this. USUM brought difficulty back up to Black and White levels, which was appreciated.

Saying Pokemon has never been difficult is a lie. It's not back breaking by any means, but it used to be a bit of a challenge all the same. I've never been defeated by Diantha, I still get defeated occasionally by Cynthia.

Re: Pokémon Sword And Shield Revealed For Nintendo Switch, New Starters Shown

-Juice-

I didn't see walking Pokemon, which upsets me because the Switch has the capability, they finished assets for all gen 1-7 Pokemon in SuMo, and showed that they just have to port it over by using the same assets in Let's GO!

Stop removing features Game Freak. Also, I noticed them addressing the casual crowd first and foremost, which makes me scared that they aren't going to make main series games as difficult as 1-5 for the hardcore audience despite having a series for casuals to follow separate from the main series games.

Re: Japanese Poll Discovers That Vast Majority Of Viewers Were Pleased With The Nintendo Direct

-Juice-

It wasn't very good imo. I don't like platformers, and a lot of the games shown are things I've bought on other platforms. All that interests me from what was shown is Zelda (and I really don't think the artstyle fits the game they're remaking), FF7, and Fire Emblem. Zelda is likely coming out in the last half of the year, and Fire Emblem was delayed. That means the only thing that is even slightly interesting on the Nintendo side for me this spring is FFVII.

The PS4 has good games coming out this spring though, so I'll just focus on that system right now until Nintendo actually starts releasing a wider variety of real big hitters this fall.

Re: Nintendo Cuts Its 20 Million Switch Hardware Sales Target Despite Incredible Holiday Season Performance

-Juice-

@Heavyarms55 The only thing that's going downhill is how shareholders and investors have ruined the climate of gaming, pushing companies to continuously grow beyond their growth capacity and produce sales they can't achieve, which has led most AAA games to be infested with scummy microtransactions.

I'd love nothing more than for this type greed to die out in the industry, because I want to go back to a time where games were quality products.

Re: Panic Button Dreams Of Porting Horizon Zero Dawn To Nintendo Switch

-Juice-

@Equinox So it's automatically bad because it has a female protagonist that's a clone of a scientist that worked on the Horizon Zero Dawn project so that life could go on after extinction?

There's literally no "feminist" or "SJW" agenda in the game! At this point you're just being misogynistic because the main character is female, and to you that instantly means "OMG SJW!!" You're teetering real close to hate speech. Have you not heard it said "love your neighbor", or "love others as I have loved you"? Truly I say to you, if your heart is filled with contempt and malice, then you are no different from what is wrong in the world. Take a deep look within yourself, and fill your cup with what is right and stop poisoning yourself with thoughts of malice. That which you feel for others shall be written on your heart as well. Eventually, all hearts are judged based on what is written on them.

Re: Game Freak Says Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee May Be Forward Compatible

-Juice-

@Krisi You apparently haven't done any proper research in order to make an informed opinion in the subject, instead you've just read clickbait headlines fueled by knee-jerk reactions.

Here's the mechanic in Let's Go! that ends up changed: wild encounters. That's it. Everything else is your typical Pokemon JRPG. It's not even dumbed down. Wild battles and catching has always been redundantly easy. At least now they're a lot more interactive and lack the monotony of random encounters. That's a GOOD thing, just like throwing HMs away was a good idea. People like you are the reason the franchise has stagnated and is starting to turn stale. Gameplay variety is a GOOD thing!

@Saego The stats are traditional. "CP" in Let's GO! is only a visual aid for newcomers that aren't used to JRPG leveling systems or stats. The actual stat system from prior entries is still there. Also, if we're going to be pedantic, then every remake that introduces one-time features should also be considered spin-offs, but they're not, because they have the main-line core series patented catching, battling, trading JRPG system. Let's GO also has all of that, ergo, it's a core game.

Re: Video: New Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee Trailer Reveals Gorgeous Region Map And More

-Juice-

@Rayquaza2510 I don't even know why your Pokemon would be so overleveled, considering I DID grind/take my time with every source of exp and came out of the league with my Pokemon at around 57-60

Why were you using the lucky egg if you wanted standard gameplay? Everyone knows the lucky egg gives you more experience and that starters gain experience faster than most Pokemon. The only way I can see you being level 70+ is if you're the type to use one of your Pokemon more than the others, which is weird because most people try to keep their team at an equal level and switch starting positions constantly.

Gen 7 has flaws, but those flaws (compared to past games) have nothing to do with a lack of standard difficulty or above. That flaw belongs to Gen 6.

Re: Video: New Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee Trailer Reveals Gorgeous Region Map And More

-Juice-

@Rayquaza2510 WAT. X and Y were the most barebones, easy entries in the franchise, and you're saying SuMo/USUM were the easy ones? Sure there was a tutorial phase that was longer than it needed to be, but the experience gained from battles with the exp.share on was lessened dramatically, they reintroduced the Black and White experience gain system that gave you less and less the stronger you were than your opponent, and they even gave "boss" Pokemon instant stat buffs, better AI, and specific tactics that would crush the player if they didn't have a clear strategy.

Re: Kimishima Says Nintendo Has Plans For The 3DS In 2019 And Beyond

-Juice-

@BARSAMAN This argument no longer holds ground. It fit perfectly in your pockets with the original model. Thing is, people preferred the bigger screen models over the portable sizes models. It's why the standard n3DS never came over while the XL did. The majority prefer function over portability, that's what statistics have shown.

Re: Kimishima Says Nintendo Has Plans For The 3DS In 2019 And Beyond

-Juice-

@Pikachupwnage The problem is that so many of us have moved on from the 3DS that important releases like Metroid: Samus Returns and the Luigi's Mansion remake are things we want to play, but just can't get around to. If the 3DS had a successor that had better resolution and post processing features that could make 3DS games at least look smooth (no more jaggies or pixelated models) then everything would be fine.

Re: Kimishima Says Nintendo Has Plans For The 3DS In 2019 And Beyond

-Juice-

@Pikachupwnage Let me turn that around on you, because that line of thinking is flawed. "Oh no, how will the poor Switch owners survive not having quirky vacuum centric gameplay mechanics when they are getting completely unrelated genres like a fighting game, a platformer, a strategic JRPG, a monster collecting JRPG, another platform, a fps etc."

That's like saying "Stop complaining about not getting this racing game that appeals to you, you should be happy you're getting this popular puzzle game that's nothing like the genre you like!"

Like... what...?

Re: Kimishima Says Nintendo Has Plans For The 3DS In 2019 And Beyond

-Juice-

Stop supporting this system. It's bad enough that Luigi's Mansion is being remade on it and not the Switch. I can't handle the 3DS' incredibly subpar resolution anymore. I love the system, but the resolution just kills it for me in 2018.

You've made a hybrid console, yet you refuse to focus solely on it. I understand the business sense in continuing support for something that makes bank, but I also believe in putting all resources towards something that'll be guaranteed to perform even better in the future. I hate the idea of support stagnation.

Re: Random: As The Pokémon Anime Hits 1000 Episodes, One Thing Is Clear: Ash Sucks At Pokémon

-Juice-

@Sanangelo89 Digimon was made by Bandai/Namco as a male oriented V-pet similar to their successful Tomagachi line. It then went on to produce the first Digimon World title, which combined V-pet and JRPG. The anime came after this, and while it unfortunately came out too close to Pokemon' s popularity, watching it will quickly help anyone to understand that it was different on a core level.

Pokemon is about catching, collecting, and tournaments.

Digimon is about bonding with one partner (sometimes two, rarely more than that), spending your time raising them from a child to an adult and beyond, and usually also has a centralized goal that needs accomplished. An imminent threat and a conclusion to each story arc.

I guess the reason people like to debate stems from their names, but that confusion comes from how Japanese media was localised back in the '90s. When you spell them out completely: "Pocket Monster" "Digital Monster" It then becomes more obvious that they're two literal concepts pushed together to create a name. This is common with Japanese name creation.
