This game frustrates me to no end because it's kind of great? But they did not give this game enough love or character at all. It's like they were afraid of having another Arms-Style under-performance and shot themselves in the foot just in case.
Nintendo Life's comment section seems entirely composed of 30 year old men for better and for worse. But as someone who grew up with Mii games, me and my friends are all beyond excited for this game and we plan to play it together day 1.
Most of my Just Dance playing family is still perfectly happy playing Just Dance 2 on the Wii. I don't think their target audience is gonna lap the modern Ubisoft-flavored BS up when they just want Rasputin.
I literally just remembered this game existed yesterday and was looking around for info on the Switch 2 release. I love all the style it has. Definitely gonna pick it up.
He made some great games and some I personally didn't enjoy too much. But no matter what, I hope he has a wonderful retirement. Everyone deserves that (except Ubisoft executives)
As it should. Cory in the House for DS is one of those once-in-a-generation games.
Coincidentally, I found a loose cartridge of it buried in a shovelware binder at a local retro game store yesterday. I bought it for 3.99 and now its something I'll treasure forever.
It does also say that the release date was yesterday. I have my doubts that this is going to go anywhere, and Nintendo would be far smarter to spend their time developing Raiders and Splatoon 4.
I played MH Wilds at a friends house on his PS5 and thought it was neat. I'd be willing to give it a shot if the game ran well and didnt require a 70GB Game Key Card.
And just like that I will not be purchasing the next Professor Layton game. Or buying it used if its good and doesn't use Gen AI. Companies that sacrifice their own human workers to save a quick buck can crash and burn.
The AI bubble seriously needs to pop. I hate seeing commercials on TV that use AI. They look and sound so stilted and awful. If you use AI, I won't buy it. Long live humanity.
@Robot99 I have a firefox extension that blocks it. Couldn't recommend it enough.
Not at all shocking given the economic state of the country. Consoles can't keep getting more expensive if consumer spending power is stagnating or even getting worse. I predicted as much when the Switch 2 launched.
On the one hand, I'm glad activision adressed the outcry from the fans, but this is almost for sure because of the low sales and nothing else. We didn't even get a committment to not using Generative AI in the future. This feels more like: "Oops, you guys didn't eat up the slop we were giving you. Just kidding, good games coming maybe soon."
5/10 from me for a game that is a total mixed bag. It peaks way earlier than I expected, and early on I thought the negative reviews were crazy. It's painful just how far it fell after the third main area, which had some of the best atmosphere in any Metroid game. From there Metroid Prime 4 stumbles through poor characters and sloppy writing, time-padding end-game quests, and a handful of boring and downright bad bosses with a deeply unsatisfying ending. A great OST and amazing visuals are band-aids on a game that's clearly suffering from a messy vision and long development.
I'm really enjoying my time with the Switch 2. It's really reinvigorated my love of gaming. But I was at a game store a week ago and an employee asked me if I would recommend it. At this point, most of the good games you might want have still released on Switch 1. I would wait a year to buy a Switch 2 in hindsight until more exclusives drop.
This game is weirdly nostalgic for me. As a toddler, my babysitter would put on the running game when it was raining so I wouldn't run all over the house like a feral dog. Good times.
Maybe if they keep bundling MK World with the Switch 2 like they did with the Switch 1. It will probably just come down to whatever is in the black friday bundle.
I wonder if there is much of a need to buy the DLC if the hotel that will be added seems to serve a very similar purpose. Obviously its not exactly the same or as expansive as the DLC, but you'll likely get just as much out of it unless youre a hardcore fan.
@Truegamer79 These games cost ten dollars each on the WiiU a whole decade ago. The miniscule updates they've made to this game cannot possibly justify a premium pricetag for two games approaching 20 years old.
But since you think expensive games pricing people and fans out of the market is totally okay, why don't they make it 160 dollars? 80 dollars each because they're so full of Nintendo quality.
@OctolingKing13 Maybe if I could afford a Nintendo Switch 2 and they didn't make it so hard to get one I could write something positive about it. Sorry saying anything bad about Nintendo isn't allowed 🙃
@kevinm360 The 3DS launched with an insanely high price which drove away customers. Even if it was a very good product and successor to the 3DS. Even if it partially recovered, Nintendo's pricing shot the console in the foot. The same goes for the Wii U which at least partially failed due to its terrible marketing.
I feel like this is a bit of a rush to judgment on a console we have not even officially seen. Of course I'd rather the Switch 2 not fail, but there's so many ways Nintendo can f*ck this up. Looks at the 3DS
@mariomaster96 Its not for everyone. I also enjoyed Color Splash especially and ended up dropping TTYD in the last chapter. Its a good game, but after ten years of hearing it hyped up online, it didnt meet expectations which is partially my fault.
@Tendogamerxxx Picture a massive studio laying off hundreds if not thousands of talented employees trying to feed their families because AI can do their job almost as good.
That's all AI CAN do, almost as good, because it steals from actual artists who put actual passion and soul into their art. Its no wonder AI is eating itself, generating more slop, and this so-called "progress" is crashing and burning. AI tech bros wont give you a trophy for shilling for them.
@Mgalens @Bret I don't mean "gimmick" in a negative way, moreso whatever makes the next system unique. Although, now that you mention it, it's a shame the ir camera never popped off.
Making your own weapon kits would be such a big improvement for the series. It would remove the long waits for new weapons and add a level of customization unseen for the franchise.
I don't know what's worse, losing your career and going to prison. Or losing your career and going to prison after Balan Wonderworld was your last project.
