QuakeCon 2021 has kicked off with plenty of exciting announcements. While most of the focus is on the Quake remaster - which is out now on the Switch, there has also been some other news for Nintendo fans.
Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods - Part Two will be arriving on Nintendo Switch on 26th August. That's next week!
According to an official FAQ, you'll need at least 29GB of storage available to install the entire Doom Eternal experience. Here's an outline of this epic campaign expansion:
"Experience the epic conclusion to the DOOM Slayer’s saga. The Ancient Gods – Part Two is the second campaign expansion to the critically acclaimed DOOM Eternal. You denied the gods and awoke an ancient evil. Now rally the scattered Sentinel armies, lay siege to the last bastion of Hell, break through the fortress walls, and face the Dark Lord himself. The soul of the universe hangs in the balance. Your war against Hell ends here."

Why no physical release yet??? Still I'm happy seeing new content. Epic as HELL.
29GB, eh?
Complete 32GB cart release, here we come!
That's a better deal than what was issued on other platforms, and I'm more than happy to wait for such a release if it means that absolutely everything (especially DLC) is on the cart.
Of course, I would rather bide our time just a little longer in the event of any future updates, because if LRG were to release a physical edition now, and Bethesda patches the game after the fact (however small such updates may be), then you would have to download the bulk of the software update (which now stands at around 11GB?) irrespective of what version is on the cartridge.
That is unless Bethesda produces a cartridge-exclusive build (with all current updates consolidated within the software itself, as opposed to being part of a software update), but I can't see that happening.
@Silly_G They announced an update coming this fall with new Master Levels and I believe the new Horde Mode will be included as well, so a physical release would preferably come after that update if it can all fit on one cart. As much as I'd love to have all the content on the cartridge, I could live with Battlemode being a separate download, personally. All the single-player content is what I really care about as that's what will have a much longer lifespan anyway.
Nah, the DLCs are bad, only the Maingame is a godlike piece of bloody Art.
Rather spend your Money on Quake
Nice. Recently finished the main campaign on Switch, looking forward to jumping back in with both DLC parts.
im just going to hold off till they release a physical version with all the content cause im not going to give them a single dime till they do after the fiasco they pulled.
@Azuris Nonsense. The DLC is excellent.
@vio
Naa, to many flaws compared to the Maingame, espacially that there are way too many Effects that slow you down or hinder your Sight.
Even Hugo Martin mentioned that they overdone it and that it exhausts the Players.
Thats why they turned down the Difficulty (even if this wasn't exactly the Problem) in the second DLC.
Sadly it feels more like one of those second Party Expansions from the 90s.
I like the Spirits, they are a pretty nice Challange.
Oh sweet, looking forward to it. Unrelated, but I hope they bring in the rewards for doing the master level stuff like on pc.
Will get it Day One! I loved Part One, it made me curse on a game after a really long time.
@Azuris Naaah, it's waaay harder than the main game,and that's better. How can you get "exhausted" with that level of awesomeness?
@Edu23XWiiU
It isn't really harder, throwing in more Enemies und feels more like a annoying Customer entering the Shop five Minutes before Closing.
As mentioned, even Hugo Martin spottet that and they turnned down the Difficulty in the Second DLC and made fights Optional.
Hazards slowing you down and hindering your Sight are overused and annoying, not really harder, just bad Gamedesign.
Also some really strange Decisions as taking out alternative Methods to kill the Marauder and nerfing him at the same Time, also giving him little Birdies... because there can be only one intended Method for every Enemy.
Coming to the next Point, too many gimmicky Enemies.
The spirit, really cool, a real Challange.
But than also the only Headshot at special Moment Guy, the only Shotgun Imp, the i am running away Dude and you can't kill anyone...
I really love the Maingame.
But the DLCs have too many Flaws to consider them more than Ok.
Edit:
By the Way:
Why the Heck did they nerf Cheats?
@Azuris Nah, expansion was great, level of challenge was great for seasoned DOOM players, the levels are huge, and the enemie difficulty is spot on. Not to mention the final boss, that requires you to strategize adequately. Simply enough, when people say they don't like the DLC, is because they don't like challenges hahaha.
@Edu23XWiiU
Thats not true, i've spotted out what made the DLCs feel more exhausting and boring than the Maingame, wich i played more than 100 hours on Nightmare.
Some of the Critizism i've wrote were even recognized by the lead of the Devs himself, so i can't be so wrong.
@Azuris Looking at the Steam achievements of the DLC, many people that got it didn't beat the final boss, that only says that they don't like games to be hard, and quite honestly, the main game is not that hard, I found more challenge with the expansion, and that's OK. Cursing on a game never felt so good hehehe.
