Re: Random: It's A Race Against The Clock To Complete Mario Maker's Last Unbeaten Level

@JohnnyMind Yeah, I miss the mystery mushroom outfits. When Link was announced for SMM2 it made it seem like they removed the ability to have those outfits so they could create multiple different characters that used those assets and then no others happened. It was like how 3D World is categorised as if there would have been even more themes. SMM2 has a lot of areas where it feels like more was planned then ultimitely dropped.

@JohnnyMind I have spent a lot of time over the years (especially during the pandemic) watching SMM YouTubers and I recall them discovering you couldn't edit downloaded levels in the second game and being disappointed because a lot of the YouTubers who did some of the Super Expert No Skip videos used to like to look through any difficult levels that ended their runs so they could work out where they went wrong and then try to beat it afterwards, so it would be marked as cleared by them.

@JohnnyMind In Super Mario Maker 2, that's possible to do without people knowing (unless they use third party tools), but the original on Wii U allows you to download and edit levels other people have made, meaning it's possible to go through each part of the level and check for stuff like that.
Although as people say, there have been questions recently about the legitimacy of the original upload.

Re: Pokémon World Championships Disqualifies Scarlet And Violet Pros Using Hacked Monsters

@DaniPooo Your final paragraph does sound like it could be describing those.

As for a point in the future when all devices are connected online, that still seems unlikely for people in less affluent areas, especially with handheld consoles. The last time I recall a console manufacturer including the ability to go online on the go was the 3G model of the Vita, which was an optional extra and was a feature dropped in later models. The point when that would be likely is very far off. Even mobile phones struggle to get mobile signal in a lot of areas and they're made for doing that. I know the exact places on my work commute where my signal will drop completely for certain amounts of time. One is just an area where there's no mobile signal whatsoever, another is a tunnel, the last is when I'm actually where I work, where mobile signal seems to drop. So even if I was to try and use my phone to make a wifi hotspot for my other devices to connect to in order to go online, I know for a fact which places the signal would drop. Again though, that's under the assumption that people have the ability to pay for those online connections. It's not exactly cheap to get internet access. You're clearly advocating for something that stops poorer people from being able to play their games.

Re: Pokémon World Championships Disqualifies Scarlet And Violet Pros Using Hacked Monsters

@DaniPooo But that wouldn't work on a game that famously is released on handheld consoles. How would you continue playing when on the bus or train? What if you did manage to play on the bus or train and then you got home and tried to play and your save no longer matches the one on the server due to playing whilst offline? This sort of thing only works for games and devices that can have a constant online connection, which doesn't work for handhelds.

Also, your final paragraph basically describes the way the cloud versions of games on Switch works, like Kingdom Hearts. Not everyone has a connection strong enough to stream those games. It just adds an extra cost barrier to stop those who are less affluent from being able to have fun with what little spare money they may have, by making them spend extra on faster internet connections, which in less affluent areas are also less likely to be available.

Re: Two Official Nintendo Stores Have Been Closed Down

If their customer service is even a fraction of how bad the customer service is on the online store in the UK, then it wouldn't surprise me that it's been shut down. The customer support team at the UK store is so rude and unhelpful and they like to blame the customer for problems caused by a courier.

@Bass_X0 Again, this isn't "Twitter transh", this is a creator profiting off a product and amassing an army of hate and NintendoLife staff literally saying people are welcome to say that's the reason they aren't buying the game, then you saying that they shouldn't say that, despite the owners of the site allowing it. Their quote, which I will paste for you again says that people are allowed to say that that is the reason for them not buying the game. Learn how to read.

"You're welcome to state that you won't be buying the game for these reasons, but otherwise remain on topic of the game itself."

@Royalblues I remember in the early days there was a massive anti-Pearl crowd based on people not liking her. There was also a lot of people who automatically preferred Marina based on her looks. For me I usually just went with whichever answer felt best for me, or if I didn't have an opinion, I went with whichever team a lot of my friends were going on.
