But, but, but all the YouTuber's were telling me that this game was going to end Mario Kart World!!!
Kidding aside, people who love it REALLY seem to love it and I'm glad that it's found a community. I do respect Nintendo for giving a niche title another chance.
@Bats1234 I don't think it's a bad move since it's the beginning of the Switch 2's life cycle and to take advantage of the smaller library by releasing some more niche titles now than get lost in the shuffle later on. Look at a game like ARMS on the Switch 1. It sold decent enough being released in the launch window. Not sure how it would have done if it released 5 years or more into the systems life. So it might be a good time as any to release Air Riders, Fever, and Pokopia, to take advantage of that small volume launch window of titles. I could be completely wrong too.
@LightSpirit I sort of understand what they're saying. Not to the 4/10 level but still. I don't care for the control scheme myself either. While it appears simple on the surface to keep keep everything to just a couple of buttons, it feels antiquated in practice. While i got used to it, I wish I had been able to remap the controls during the Global Test. It would have felt a lot more natural placing Drift and weapons and the spin on the right stick instead of the same stick you steer with. I'm interested in seeing what control options will be available upon release.
@digdugnate I had to get used the timing of my shots on Easy Come, Easy Golf after the update. Feels and plays great. Still can't believe how many characters there are to unlock in that games
While I believe that all "Nintendo Classic" games should be available separately for purchase, as in the Wii and WiiU days, the Virtual Boy titles 100% be available outside of the NSO classics. While system related controllers are available for purchase, they're not required to play the games on the Switch. So is not the case with the Virtual Boy. Since it's required, why not offer the games separately. I would think Nintendo would sell a lot more of these units if they did. Then again, I think Nintendo is leaving so much money on the table by not allowing any of their NSO classic titles to be purchased individually.
Ouch. You'd think Nintendo could have at least made the double pack Voucher eligible. The program is ending in January anyways so why not throw your fans at least one more bone.
I'm hoping only $5. The reason being - what other expansion passes are they going to charge for down the line? Will there be separate passes for Gameboy & Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance or TurboGrafx, possibly Gamecube? (wishful thinking on the last one) The total price for everything would add up quickly, like bundles for cable TV. And given Nintendo's poor track record of drip feeding additional titles after the initial NES/SNES Online releases, (plus the questionable quality of many of these titles) I'm not sure how have much faith I have left in Nintendo to pay anything above $5 for this N64/Genesis expansion pass.
I am enjoying the new courses and characters. Fingers still crossed for a tournament mode.and a replay mode. It stinks hitting a awesome chip in and not being able to see the highlight of the shot again.
I'm really hoping that they bring Clap Hanz Golf over from the Apple Arcade to the Switch. I used to love playing Hot Shots/Everybody's Golf on the Playstation.
Outside of Tetris, I never really cared for the original Gameboy games as a kid. Anytime I would play a Mario Land game, it just made me want to play one of the NES Mario games instead. Of course I would give them another chance if they do come to the NSO, But the Gameboy Advance was the 1st handheld system I really enjoyed playing. So many good memories
I definitely like this update. I played through 18 holes of New Donk City. I wasn't sure at first having an all par 3 course but it was fast and unique. I really am enjoying Ranked mode as well. It didn't take too long to unlock Yoshi's colors too.
I posted this on Twitter, and I know it's a Mario title, but a surprise character like Link, Zelda or Samus & character themed courses would be awesome. Sonic or Pac-Man would be even better. Probably will never happen but 🤞.
Hoping online/offline tournaments show up in an upcoming update in the near future as well. I'm fine if the awards stay with the Ranked Mode but adding tournaments would round out the package into a complete feeling golf game.
Nintendo Switch Selects finally? It would make sense to finally permanently drop the price on games like Arms, 1-2- Switch and even Splatoon 2 prior to 3's release. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't happen but you have to think that it will happen eventually.
@nessisonett Yes!! I want Clap Hanz Golf please!! Even with Mario Golf coming out so soon, Clap Hanz Golf at the end of the year or the beginning of 2022 would be great as well.
It would be one thing it was like typical preorder bonuses that unlock something early but this doesn't seem right. I've never played Skyward Sword but one of the biggest criticisms I've heard is it can be a tedious slog. So this quality of life improvement seems like a natural inclusion for an updated release. Even if it didn't occur till halfway through the game and the Amiibo unlocked it from the get go would be better than locking it completely behind something that will have limited availability. While I don't agree with this current situation, at least make this short cut available by using any Zelda related Amiibo. I still think it should be included in game though.
@Alztru No online, unfortunately. And I think the Switch only has 4 player splitscreen while other platforms have 8 player splitscreen. Still better than something like Meow Motors that offers 2 player splitscreen on the Switch and 4 player everywhere else
@everynowandben Been waiting for it too. The game is in my backlog. Been waiting for the Starfox Team to go on sale before I do. I've been tempted before just to pick it up and be done with it but I always get that nagging feeling that it will go on sale when I do. The Sonic Mania DLC is another one that doesn't go on sale on the Switch. It's been 50% off on other platforms.
My biggest disappointment with this game is that they didn't add local splitscreen for online play. My wife and I miss playing local splitscreen competitions with our friends due to the pandemic. It would be great if my wife and I could play splitscreen on our Switch against my friend and his wife on their Switch in an online lobby. But it's not there. It's nice having it as an option, (heck, even Nintendo has it available in MK8)
I’d love to see Mario Kart get the Ultimate treatment with a track editor thrown in for good measure. And if they allowed you to customize your Mii similar to the way you were able to create your driver in Modnation Racers, we’ll have Mario & the gang racing against Iron Man, Freddy Kruger, Batman and Spider-Man in no time
I played a lot more of this game than I thought I would have when it was originally released as a PS+ game. Buy I agree with the reviewer. It’s above average. It’s fun for a bit but there are much better options available. And the pricing is terrible, especially on a system where Mario Kart is king, and a string of other Kart and Arcade racers are about to release as well. If anyone is looking for a fun arcade style racer, go with Horizon Chase Turbo. I love that game.
Hopefully it will, but being Capcom, who knows. The Disney Afternoon Collection is still M.I.A. on the Switch and you would have thought that would have been a slam dunk being all NES games
@Edu23XWiiU Pinball is definitely not for everyone but I do recommend trying the demo for Pinball FX3. It’s a much better pinball game on the Switch than the demo you played for either Stern or Pinball Arcade. (Frankenstein was definitely a poor choice as a demo table).
I’d like to see the N64 wrestling games brought back to the Switch in modern form. Tweek the gameplay, update the roster and graphics. We all know the disaster that was 2K18 on the Switch, so let the other platforms keep the 2K series. Update the better classics for the Switch.
@saintayu In Psyonix’s defense, they’ve been hounding Sony about cross play ever since RL released on the Xbox One. They have said right along that they are ready to go once Sony gives the green light. And they’re still asking themselves. They’re just asking their fans that to ask Sony as well, which makes sense, proving Psyonix’s point that there’s a demand for it among PS4 players

I'd love a sequel to Nitro Fueled. I loved the Grand Prix they had. Hopefully they'd bring back all the Racers from the 1st one.
