The 3DS might be on life support, but there are still a handful of quality titles on the way to the system. One of these is Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth, due out early next month, on 4th June.
To help ensure the experience on this system continues to be as stable as possible, Nintendo has released a new firmware update. It's the first one for 2019, following on from a previous update at the end of last year. Here's what you can expect in Version 11.10.0-43:
Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience
Are you still playing your 3DS on a regular basis? Have you downloaded this update? Sound off in the comments below.

Must. Remain. Stable.
homebrewers: releases exploit for DSi that makes all systems vulnerable via the camera app
nintendo: better time than ever to release a 3DS update
(not implying nintendo's gonna update the dsi btw, just funny how the two happened around the same time)
Say hello to the last 3DS update.
I wonder how stable the 3DS can get...rumor has it someone shot theirs into a dying star to keep it stable
I'm curious about what they have been changing with these last updates...
I play on my N3DSXL regularly alongside my Switch, still have to finish half of my backlog. Can't wait for Persona Q2, it's probably the last quality title for the 3DS.
man the 3DS is getting too stable, that it will run GTA V Soon
The new update is so stable it allow two units to be launched at each other within a collider in order to create a perpetual motion machine.
Since the 3ds will probably get less support going forward, Nintendo and its 3rd party developers should discount their games heavily to get those on the fence to get their games before nobody cares about it anymore. Old games on Steam (PC) get discounted up to 90% or more, developers on the 3DS could too. Sort of a Thanksgiving and farewell gift to all those who supported it through the years.
Does this fix being able to connect to public WiFi?
At this point, they should get rid of the 300 game limit on the 3DS. I'm literally ready to hand over another $100 or $200 on digital downloads. But if Nintendo doesn't want my money, so be it
Man, if it gets any more stable, it'll probably implode upon itself...
This super great ultra mega hyper "wonderful" powerful 3DS stability can make the division between 0 not a cosmic catastrophe.
XD
@SakuraHaruka I don’t think it’s that stable yet...however, if you were to divide by zero, the 3DS could theoretically stabilize the resulting tear in spacetime.
My body is stable.
I still play mine. Of course I only bought it last year. I play it more than Switch. Cozy gaming in bed.
Ow...!
My Three 3DS XL will stable enough to sing "Stable...!" in harmony.
It's to make the dinglehopper thinga magjenga work properly!
It's same stability fixes as VITA got.
Translates to: Blocking latest exploits.-
I play my 3DS everyday, my friend plays his everyday as well and we both have other gaming systems to include the Switch.... But I don't know know what it is about my 3DS, I love it, it's my absolute favorite gaming device.
Also sign my petition please.
Sign the petition for Fantasy Life to be brought to the Switch and 3DS.

I'm currently playing Mario & Luigi Dream Team and i still own a handful of games i have yet to play and a handful of games i have yet to buy, so yes, i am still playing with my New Nintendo 3DS XL and shall continue to do so for years to come.
At this point my 3DS is more stable then me
@Jumpman more like low settings with Ray tracing enabled.
Hope this doesn't break any homebrew exploits.
(It totally will)
Everyone was like "there is no way the 3DS can get more stable" and then Nintendo did this!
The 3DS lives!
And now, we flatline...
I'm currently going through Metroid: Samus Returns on my 3DS.
Dunno why I never played it. I've owned it since release day and I always loved me some 2D Metroid action.
I've been prioritizing playing DS and 3DS titles in order to lessen the regret whenever the little guy finally stops working thanks to the passage of time.
I play 3DS everyday. I like to multitask while I watch (more like listen) to my youtube subscriptions. So I'll sit in front of my PC playing 3DS while the videos are streaming.
"Strong and stable" unlike the current global political climate.
I'm gonna get the Persona Game but once I'm done, my 3DS is going away.
@Likethepear Every night before bed I play Animal Crossing New Leaf. (of course I play it at other times), but it's nice to relax after a long work day to my 3ds and Animal Crossing...
@GauBan I usually don't think of political crap when playing, but okay.
YES! The 3DS should be in charge of the economy, to ensure it is stable.
Update 3ds os so it have same functions like Switch do (accounts, etc.) = at least 1 year more life and sales...................(wishful thinking)
I am glad to see the love for the 3ds is still alive! I play it a couple times a week, for sure. I won't take my switch to work, but my 3ds fits easily in my bag and it is perfect for a lunch break.
Long live the 3ds!
I still play mine daily for Animal Crossing. Once the Switch one eventually comes, it'll likely be going in a drawer. Unless like Bowser's Inside Story goes on sale or something.
Beginning to go back to my 3DS as of recent. Got Mario & Luigi Paper Jam Bros since that's the only one in the series I hadn't played yet and it was quite cheap. Need to collect the rest of the 3DS games I've missed on my list too
@Joe-b but you play Animal Crossing New Leaf every day. So you do thing about it.
@BacklogBlues well the Wii u got an update about a year into the switchs life, so we'll see
@premko1 That's what I've thought, but then it would be competing with the switch, so they wouldn't do that
@GauBan well I am the mayor! I always forget that....
I hope your right @MasterJay because i love my Fire Emblem Edition 3DS. And i would love to get another 5 years out of it.
@premko1 Or at the very least, can we update the Switch OS so it has the same features as 3DS?
I miss my assortment of themes and a perfectly organized game collection. (Not to mention all my badge arcade decorations)
I'm guessing they're never getting rid of the miiverse icon, then.
I like, but dislike, but like, that they ignore the 3ds browser. I'm only going to say this because 8 years of failure is long enough but I'm working on a new 3ds browser game website and the games there will truly stand out. Even on old 3ds, games will be multiplayer, you can take in-game snapshots, and live stream your game play. Probably won't be done for a few more months though. But multiplayer and snapshots are already done and working. I don't need to share links, Google search 3ds browser games then you'll know what website is mine. No one else attempted to make like 40 3ds browser games but me. Sorry if this counts as spam, it is 3ds related though, but like I said 8 years is long enough.
I know it is mostly about preventing hacks on the system, but other than that I wish they had a compreensive log telling us what the updates are about. At this point it almost feels like Nintendo os mocking us with that "stability" and "user experience"
I still play mine on a regular basis. I still use the street pass function.
@Sshingatok I only play my Switch now, but omg do I miss StreetPass. It was fun to collect puzzle pieces and see who ended up in your plaza... especially at cons. I really wish there was a way for them to put StreetPass on the Switch.
damn the 3DS is getting more stable than strange matters!
@BacklogBlues yay
Did they remove the miiverse icon?
I still play mine everyday when I can. Still use streetpass and as I work at an airport I get the odd hit and a few when schools are off. Shame as its such a portable system but it's not dead yet so lets enjoy while it's still here. No interest in the switch until it gets hard disc support. I have other systems I play at home like xbox and PS but the 3ds gets 95 percent of my gaming time. I will blub when the eshop for this gets shut down or streetpass servers get shut off. I would even pay a yearly fee for my 3ds to keep things up and running as i pay for xbox and ps yearly. I really have no interest in the switch..... Coz is not portable like the 3ds is. I still have wii u but mistakenly got rid of the wii.
Still play mine daily. Had to update it so I could continue to play Pokemon Shuffle.
Oh, and ACTUAL NEW update? Gotta go to that now!
@Chibi_Manny Amazing game! Still loving the 3DS too!
Does the YT app work again now? Nope.
@MasterJay 3ds will be the "entry" console
My 3DS has been super stable after this update
Why they are still updating 3DS, if they don't plan to block hacks?
I hear that CFW still work from gbatemp forum and the mod3dscard blog.
"There's a handful of quality titles coming..." So there's something beyond Persona Q2? I still use my 3DS as my primary handheld and I've been looking for evidence of new titles, and I can't find even a hint of anything other than Q2.
Call me crazy, but I just bought New Leaf. It's my first Animal Crossing since Let's Go to the City and holy heck, I forgot how fun the series is!!
My 3DS is now so stable, I'm going to prop up The Leaning Tower of Pisa with it.
I still regularly play all 4 Mario & Luigi titles released for the system, mostly. But the updates have made the 3ds so stable that it could replace the infinity gauntlet.
@TheBigK You may as well just buy it ASAP at its current price, or used if you have to, because 1st party Nintendo games hardly ever go on sale, at least in my experience. It may also become really rare in the future.
I would like to play some of my 3ds games bit I can’t seem to find a new one anywhere. I don’t fancy getting a 2ds xl as I enjoyed the 3D features
I have moved on from my 3DS, except for the updates. Just port some 3DS games to the Switch and I'll sell my 3DS...maybe
Still play my 3DS albeit mostly at night time before bed, like with all the handhelds it's more a night time before bed or morning before work thing
