Sorry, wallet. Getting Ghostbusters, Witcher 3 and Luigi’s Mansion 3 at the least.
My wallet is safe. I'm not really interested in any of these. Maybe I could be won over by Luigi's Mansion 3, but I bought the original Game Cube game about two years ago and it just didn't do much for me. But 18 years could do a lot to make this one worth it. I'll admit, I am intrigued by that Ring Fit Adventure because I love Nintendo's wacky ideas, even if they are kind of dumb gimmicks.
Ghostbusters
Luigi’s Mansion 3
The Witcher 3
Overwatch
A Hat in Time
Resident Evil 5/6
Yooka-Laylee
Little Town Hero
Luigi’s Mansion 3, A Hat In Time, and the Disney Classic Games for me.
Can’t wait for Hat in Time!
Another strong month for the Switch. I'm interested in most of these, but LM3 and Witcher 3 are my most anticipated.

GAMES NOT TO BE MISSED
Dragon Quest XI S, Divinity Original Sin 2 and Ori and the Blind Forest are September’s absolute must-buys, all 3 of which have a 90+ score on Metacritic (and for good reason). The Witcher 3 and Luigi’s Mansion 3 are October’s absolute must buys. Don’t pass up on Witcher 3!
Ghostbusters, luigis mansion 3,witcher 3,baulders gate collection and maybe that atelier game.
W3, been excited about this for a loooong while. One for the big (docked) screen I reckon. The fact it can be played portable is pretty amazing too. Can’t wait !
@JaxonH forgot about doreamon ! A must buy for me Along with Witcher and the goose game.
October will be another expensive month for me. My poor wallet will never get a break lol.
Ghostbusters
Yooka-Laylee
The Witcher 3
Super Monkey Ball
Disney classics
Resident evil triple pack
Luigi's Mansion 3
The only one that interests me personally is Luigi's Mansion. I'll hold off though.
I have Dragon Quest 11 now and I plan on enjoying this for the time being. It's the game I wanted most this year and I can easily wait for something as exciting in the year to come.
Is there no end to my wallet's suffering? XD
@Tyranexx Next year is going to be very brutal for everyones wallets.
Gonna get Overwatch. I'm excited to see how it plays. McCree looks awesome lol
@RiasGremory Most definitely. We had a reprieve earlier this year, but that ended towards the end of August for me. XD
Little town hero
My wallet is for other stuff so Overwatch only this time, if I have extra money later to spare Witcher 3 for sure
Witcher 3 is $14.99 right now at GOG. So no way. Lots of old stuff also.
Trine 4 and Luigi, only games that will make the cut.
Tempting to wreck Switch noobs on Overwatch. But I need to save money right now so I'll just stick with Rabi Ribi.
Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Complete Edition should be in this list!
I’m just getting Luigi. I’m gonna fire up some games I’ve not finished, so after Luigi I think I’m done buying for the calendar year.
This article and these comments are both severely lacking Cat Quest II. I grabbed the first one for $5 on sale a month or two ago and loved every minute, so I'm happy to pay $15 for the sequel when it comes out.
@JaxonH Wow, man, and I thought I buy a lot of games.
This is a great month for sure. Will definitely pick up A Hat in Time - been waiting for that forever! I love 3D platformers and there are so few. Also interested in Yooka-Laylee - but we'll see how the review pan out. The teasers have seemed a bit lackluster compared to Tropical Freeze or Rayman. Baldur's Gate II is one of my favorite games of all time (although I don't feel the urge to play it again.) Have been very curious to see how Little Town Hero turns out. And meanwhile, I'm being kept very occupied with Link's Awakening and Ori.
As spooky as these games are my main objective in October are #1 Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth Complete Edition, I want to solve the mystery of the white ghost and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 and best Thanos once and for all! He’s waiting and I am going to dance with him.
I have been overwhelmed by great games (just like the rest of us Switch owners) And even though I play them as fast as I can I still get behind!
I have set aside an "achievement system" so that certain games I want to play I can only "unlock" (purchase) after meeting other requirements. For example I can't buy Ghostbusters until I finish Luigi's Mansion. I can't buy The Mana Collection unless I actually play a few hours of it on my SNES Classic. etc.
That only helps with my "b-tier" however. I am still buying like 3 big games a month, which is crazy
Damn, I haven't even finished buying my Must Haves for September yet. Witcher 3 and Ring Fit Adventure are top of my list for October, and Luigi and Super Monkey Ball close behind. We don't really need groceries, do we?
Only six games for me this Month so no biggie..
Sniper Elite 3 1/10
Earthfall 11/10
Children of Morta 15/10
The Witcher 3: the Wild Hunt 15/10
Vampyr 29/10
Resident Evil triple pack 29/10
No mention of Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth? For me, that's number 1 this month. Luigi's mansion, A Hat in Time and The Witcher 3 follow.
@BazilSan
Agreed
I like the artwork I've seen for Mistover. It looks like a cross between Darkest Dungeon and Etrian Odyssey.
Bruh, where's Super Monkey Ball?
@Donutsavant
I should also try this... always buying new stuff without playing the previous purchases a lot.
For this month I only unlocked RingFit, because I played FitnessBoxing so much! Have to finish Steven Universe-Save the light before buying another RPG.
Witcher III for me!
Another financially crippling month brought to you by Nintendo!
Ghostbusters and Overwatch could definitely tempt me as I never got round to them first time, but if I don't pick up Luigi's Mansion 3 at launch I will probably be single very shortly after... so that's our Halloween plans sorted!
Trine 4 and Ring Fit Adventure are top priorities. I’m sure I’ll get Luigi at some point but my backlog is pretty thick so I’m not in any rush on that one (Trine will be for the great co-op play)
Is Luigi's Mansion still 30fps or have the dev's managed to improve it?
Once Baldur's Gate & Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition come to the Switch, they will become the best RPGs on the platform
@JR150 I have been playing Overwatch on PS4 and PC for 3 years. Never really played McCree until about a month ago, and I am having a blast with him. Hope you enjoy the game.
@JaxonH how can you be so rich and have so much time? Witchcraft? You win the lottery? Anyhow I’m jealous.
I think Atelier Ryza looks interesting. And A hat in time. Not sure about Luigi. Didn’t think the original was that special tbh.
I'm so down for Luigi's Mansion 3, otherwise I'll only get Ring Fit Adventure out of these. Eyes on Harvest Moon's Mineral Town remake but I plan to get an in-depth look before making my decision as I always do with HM/SoS games.
I've been in a release drought since Yoshi's Crafted World back in March so I'm really looking forward to LM3. I can't wait to dive into its multiplayer, LM2's is still such a blast for my friends and me so I'm itching to see what its sequel brings.
There is a huge glaring omission from this list. The bananas must be returned!!! >.<
@Arckadius
Omg a person actually wishing me well on the internet?! XD
But for real, thanks. I've been watching gameplay, and I don't mind the 30fps either. Being able to play it anywhere is awesome!
LM3
LM3
LM3
and... you know... LM3
Boy, I just can’t wait for that one. Loved it on the Cube. Loved it in the 3DS.... And this one just looks asome.
I want more games from the list but I just gotta stop buying all those NS games. I have a huge backlog and to be honest? I don’t always finish my games. Only the ones that I really enjoy. Like Links Awakening...
the music from Celeste
I must get Witcher 3 and Baldurs gate + Planescape&Icewind.
As for the others I might consider Luigi Mansion 3 but I havent even played 1 and 2.
For me, the must get are:
Luigi Mansion 3
Aladdin/Lion King re-release
Maybe/Later:
Ghostbusters
A Hat in Time
I still got Dragon Quest 11 and Ni No Kuni on my wishlist, as well as Pokemon Sword next month.
Not to mention PS4 offerings and backlog to occupy my entertainment time.
Ghostbusters I want on PS4.
Overwatch I'll wait on reviews to see if it plays well - but I would quite like it on Stadia, but it hasn't been announced for it yet
Ring Fit Adventure looks alright, but it's too expensive for me. I'll wait for a sale.
Luigi's Mansion 3 is a definite when I can afford it.
Witcher 3, Overwatch and I might give the Ring fitness a chance
I was initially planning on getting Trine 4, Yooka-Laylee, Doraemon’s Story of Seasons, A Hat in Time and Luigi’s Mansion 3, but since I caved and preordered the purple/orange joy-con (I love the autumn colours, and I like the idea of maybe mixing and matching with my current Splatoon set to have a purple/pink colour scheme), I’ve decided to cut back and only get Luigi’s Mansion at the end of the month. It’s not like I don’t have enough games to play, anyway - my immediate backlog includes Ni No Kuni (which I’m currently playing), Dragon Quest XI S and a Golden Deer play-through on Three Houses, and with Luigi’s Mansion, Pokemon and Rune Factory 4 coming soon, I’m probably set until Animal Crossing comes out.
Strong month for the Switch. That is a fine set of games all to release in one month.
Luigi's Mansion 3
Yooka Laylee And The Impossible Lair
Witcher 3
A Hat in Time
Resident Evil Triple Pack
Five games for me or 7 really counting Resident Evil titles separately....
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz is also out the end of month which if good I will pick it up at some point.....
So many great games in the run up to Christmas!!
Only for Luigi and Witcher is a great month. Must haves!
Missing Vampyr, by the way.
I want 11 of these. This is ridiculous. What happened to the good old days (i.e. the start of the year) when there was nothing coming out and my bank account looked healthy...
I never played any of these games besides Aladdin & The lion king from when I was young teenager. Reading some of these comments guides me towards what games are fun so I will be getting a few. At the moment I've pre ordered Yooka Laylee & The Impossible Lair.
Probably just ring fit for me. I have too many games half complete, my pile of shame is shameful.
October looks to be a catch up on backlog month for me. Ghostbusters is one I do want on Switch, but I already beat it on PS3 years ago, so there's no rush (more than anything just want it so I can have this version of it on a Nintendo system).
Wait what? Little Town Hero is out this soon? I ... I still have no idea what it really is, or more importanly how it really works. The trailers made me curious, but I figured it was still a times away and that they would build towards letting us now what the ... was going on with.
I dunno, but that's not exactly the way to setup a game for a major commercial success ... interesting marketing strategy Oo
I've already bought too many games in a short period of time that I don't have enough time to play... so I'll pass for October.
digimon been delayed?
@DockEllisD But it most likely will be coming so it's better to plan ahead for it.
@Aslanmagic and Overwatch of course
The amount of games releasing is absolutely ridiculous and overwhelming. It wouldn't be so bad if I didant want many of them!My backlog is already huge and that's not even including my PS4 backlog.
Games I will definitely be buying or putting on my birthday/Christmas list are..
LM3
Little Town Hero
A Hat On Time
Super Monkey Ball
I also have The Alliance Alive on pre-order plus preorders on Ps4 games Trails Of Cold Steel 3 and Atelia Ryza.
And all this is not to mention the fact I still have games from other months I've wanted such as Three Houses and Astral Chain..
Have had Luigi's Mansion 3 pre-ordered for awhile, most likely Baldur's(and Icewind when it comes out) and maybe Ghostbusters
Too many games. Luigi Mansion will be mine though.
You missed close to the sun, destiny connect and the alliance alive HD
@wollywoo
Stockpiling the hybrid library. This may be the only generation we have such a system.
Playing Ori and DQXIS... Ori is so good, absolutely one of my favorite games of all time. And Dragon Quest XI S as well.
@Ladasta
Well, I’m by no means rich. It actually isn’t that expensive if you do the math, and have GCU 20% off at BestBuy with 6% back using CC. And... I don’t really buy games on PS4/X1 anymore since I only ever play on Switch. Think I spend a couple hundred bucks per paycheck on gaming related stuff. Though admittedly the months of September and October were twice as expensive as usual. These were really big release months.
Story of Seasons: Doraemon should have been on the list.
Sniper Elite III,
Luigi's Mansion 3,
Witcher 3,
and Call of Chul- ... Call of Tchu- ... Call of Cthulhu.
3 out of these for, as 3 seems to be my lucky number this month.
@BlackenedHalo Are the Baldur's Gate games better than Divinity 2??
@JaxonH I totally agree with you.
Divinity 2 and Ori didn't have much impact, and they're currently some of the best games on Switch.
Witcher 3 and Luigi's Mansion will be next.
I'm gonna say it... I don't like how Luigi's teeth aren't one model like they are everywhere else. I certainly didn't need to see his gums. Close your mouth, greeney!
Luigi's Mansion is a game I've been waiting for, it looks so great!
Still busy with September games. I'll skip October releases for now. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself. I have no idea what'll happen in the end.
Damn, you're right. Yooka laylee really is a terrifying game
@JaxonH
So many?!
I' thinking of getting the Digimon one and here I am counting every little cent I have to get it. How can you buy so many?
I'm envious, but I'm sure you'll have the most fun with them.
In my eyes you have awesome taste!
@Papaia
Well, first of all thank you 😁 I’m in my 30’s now and have a pretty good career I built over the last decade, so I can afford to spend a couple hundred per paycheck on luxuries I want. Whereas a lot of other people are going out to the bars on the weekends, taking trips, etc etc, my extra all goes into Switch games. We work to live life, and this is the one hobby I prefer to enjoy and sink money into.
But Digimon looks cool. I also really recommend Ori and the Blind Forest. Best $20 one can spend. Ni No Kuni and Dragon Quest XI S are also insanely good games, but I’m sure they’ll go on sale eventually for the more financially savvy gamer. And Witcher 3... well... that one looks insanely awesome to have on Switch. Like DQXIS, it’s just soooo much content for your money.
Overwatch for me.
But so many games for one month, something for everyone.
Still catching up so its dragon quest 11, Sniper 3, ghostbusters, luigis 3, resident 5-6 and some sale items too....tho I can't see anything I want now until 2020
I’m just gonna go for Luigi’s Mansion and Killer Queen this month... still gotta get DQ and Ori from Sept. plus considering Astral Chain and Daemon X.. must beat Zelda first!
Luigi's Mansion 3 and Atelier Ryza PLEASE!
I would also totally buy A Hat in Time again if I had the cash.
Maybe I've bought 20% of the September games I want to buy and I'll have to solve that over time. A long term problem for me
I've already preordered Yooka Laylee and I'd like to get Witcher, Luigi and A Hat in Time, but probably only one of the three in October
There's also the great deal on Collection of Mana that I'll have to get before October 13th
I’ve already preordered Witcher and Luigi’s Mansion. RingFit and Overwatch are definitely on my list too but I may wait to pick them up- especially since I’ve preordered Mario/ Sonic, Just Dance, and Pokémon for November. Big maybes are A Hat in Time and Little Town Hero but I’d like to see some reviews.
I'm so sad that games are so expensive. Can't buy everything.
Definitely buying Ghostbusters at some point, as well as Hat in Time, Luigi's Mansion, the Witcher 3 and Trine 4.... but I can't buy them all at the same time....
Decisions... decisions....
My top two are definitely Yooka-laylee and The Impossible Lair, and A Hat In Time, with Luigi's Mansion 3 coming in third. So many good games this month.
Ghostbusters is the one I’m most excited for, followed by Burgertime Party. On the fence about Luigi but have it preordered, and then Ring Fit got announced, making this another expensive month. I’ll probably hold off on Hat in Time because of everything else.
Just Disney's Classic Aladdin & Lion King, Luigi's Mansion 3 for me.
I would've also gotten Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 if it had touchscreen support. Which it does not.
@JaxonH
Completely! Spend your life as you like and enjoy it to the max, Jaxon. No objections here - on the contrary!
I'm getting close to my 30's and I'm waiting a son, so we'll see how life goes.
Since my childhood was filled with much Digimon, I wanted to get this game. From the look of it, looks pretty nice. Digimon Survive also looks interesting.
Ori I have watched it and although it's a beautiful game, I have other priorities. Ni no Kuni I've played long ago on my PS3.
I had taken in consideration Dragon Quest XI instead since I enjoyed the demo. But I have some annoying Joy-Con drifting problems making the dialogue pass very quickly sometimes, I can't bear that (I'll eventually try to get them fixed somehow, or get a new pair... ouch wallet) This and some other reasons. But it's a very good game. I'd definitely recommend it too.
All in all, my eyes are still turned to Digimon. We'll see what the future brings.
Why is WRC falling off people’s lists?! That, Luigi’s Mansion, Ghostbusters, and Witcher 3 are getting my money!
EDIT: sorry about WRC... I see that it now got pushed back a week or two and is releasing on November 19.
In that case, Pokémon double-pack and WRC for me in November.
Im so geting luigi first..
I'll buy Baldur's Gate when it hits the $5 or $10 mark that its on sale for regularly on PC.
@ChromaticDracula What is WRC? Does that stand for something?
@Aslanmagic I've heard good things about A Hat in Time
I'm going to check out some reviews.
@Reigestugatensho Agree, I might have to add that to my list lol
