Nintendo abandoned first-party game support for the Wii many years ago, but to this day third-party publisher Ubisoft has continued to release its Just Dance series on the system. The latest one – Just Dance 2020 – arrived yesterday.
Of course, all good things must come to an end, and it now sounds as if Ubisoft will finally be dropping support for this particular generation of Nintendo hardware. According to a PR, Just Dance 2020 will be the last entry in the series for Wii. Ubisoft apparently went as far as saying it would be the last Wii game ever released.
While it's obviously up to Ubisoft to decide if this is the last Just Dance game for the system, there's no saying this will necessarily be the final Wii game ever released. Perhaps it could claim to be the last major third-party release on the system, but in the current age of classic systems receiving new games all the time, there's no saying there won't be another game released on this console in the near future.

It outlasted the servers, the Wii U, and even the Wii Shop.
That's some dedication to the platform.
Noooooo! Why God whyyyyy!
So it won't be able to outlive the Atari 2600? Sad...
I would like to see more games get released by dedicated fans in the future just like how the Game Boy gets occasional support.
It was expected to happen at some point. But there is a bit of a sadness to it. Some will argue Just Dance is Just Dance no matter what console you play it on. And we still have fun with the game on the Switch. But there was something very special about playing it on the Wii back in the day. Isn't quite the same
For years, it was just Just Dance on the discontinued system that everybody’s grandparents (inexplicably) have multiples of. Hours spent listening to the awful music your child will be embarrased to admit having once enjoyed by the time high school rolls around. This one was a milestone, for it arrived on the young girl’s birthday. Alas, a short time ago they introduced that dancing panda to the franchise and dancing pandas do not sit well on her fright scale. Just Dance 2019 remains sealed and untouched. The one sale of one special order copy of Just Dance 2020 for the Nintendo Wii will unfortunately escape the local Gamestop. A most mournful goodbye to he only physical media I’ve purchased in the past decade.
Would be about time I guess, however at least the Wii lacked the subscription method.
I wonder if there was anything else physical release wise for the Wii since FIFA 15 until now that wasn't a dancing or singing game.
Didn't quite make it to its 13th birthday before the final game released for it. RIP Wii!
I thought the Wii was dead 9 years ago.
@UmbreonsPapa
With varying degrees of awfullness in the music included.
I predict Genital Jousting as the final game released on the wii...or a mod for Just Dance.
2021 Just dance collection
2022 Just dance remastered
2023 Just dance 2
Oh, well. Time for those nursing homes and day care centres to upgrade their 13-year-old consoles and make the Switch.
How amusing would it be if Just Dance 2021 causes a sudden influx in console sales?
Hell, I think it would very smart of both Ubisoft and Nintendo to collaborate and issue a Just Dance 2021 console bundle. I'm pretty sure they had done one for the Wii U and one of the Just Dance games back in the day.
If we will buy it, they will surely make more... All we need is to buy up every stock on the shelves and gobble up any reprint...
