Re: Feature: Mario Kart: Double Dash!! Is The Best Mario Kart, Right? Let's Find Out

starman292

I have fond memories of double dash. It was the first mario kart I really got into. My friend and I were pretty good at it and could play both roles well enough to switch places in co-op while driving and knew when to punch to avoid obstacles etc.

I think the only negatives for me on it were: the slidey powerslide rather than the traditional jumping powerslide. The game felt very slippery too compared to every other entry. As much as I liked unique weapons they were very unbalanced and so were the characters and karts too. It needed more content as well.

I would love them to bring back the co-op aspect in a mariokart game, but it would need to be balanced so it doesn't ruin the online play. Even if they just made it an optional mode it would be fun.

Not gonna lie I was gutted when I found out there was a Pikachu edition releasing. I have the "dark knight" (Batman) edition chair and I love it. I've had it nearly two years and honestly IMO worth every penny. I also got lucky in that I got it just prior to the pandemic and I now sit on it for a minimum of 40 hours a week so it has definitely paid off. If they do start selling the Pikachair to the UK then I am definitely going to be tempted lol.

I don't think there is much of a difference in handheld when you can use the touch screen but if you're playing it docked then it will definitely make a difference. When messaging on PS4 I frequently used the app because it was miles quicker than using the controller. It also means you can let people know if you are afk or whatever through it. I haven't tried it but I imagine you don't have to stand still while typing either because you don't have to bring up a menu. Not life changing but nice to have the option.

Re: The Next Grand Prix For Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Will Be The Last One

starman292

Honestly I've enjoyed it but I still think they should have had a few weeks break between each grand Prix. As someone who at the very least wanted everything in the grand Prix tiers and the champion kart decal it was downright stressful sometimes trying to get it done. I've had to smash it this week as I had most of the gold tier left lol. I'm currently in the top 5% (30767 when I checked like half an hour ago) so I'm just praying no-one kicks me over the 39000 mark before tomorrow lol

Yeah I feel like when I was a kid (mega drive/PS1 era) games didn't really force your attention it was down to you. Whereas now games are literally battling for your time. For example just two of the games that I play destiny 2 and crash team racing both have a pass type thing. Meaning if you don't give them both a certain amount of time then you will miss out on time gated content. I hate how so many games have this now. I literally feel relieved when I have got everything done and can stop playing it - which is just stupid lol. But when you have put a lot of time into a game you don't suddenly want to start missing stuff.

@wazlon
Yeah they were great originally there were supposed to be three games. Obviously Din and Naryu were featured but There should have been one for Farore (probably butchered the spelling on that). If they remade them it would be good if they brought back the missing content. Tbf all the gameboy Zelda games were fantastic.

As far as I know most ports/remakes have had at least a slightly lower price tag. The only other thing they could be doing (unlikely though) is charging full price and bringing it out with Oracle of ages/seasons? It was the same engine originally so would kind of make sense. I just felt like the vagueness of details might have been deliberate.

I honestly do not believe it will be the Base game at full price though. The trailer showed it is a faithful remake of the original down to exact placement (unless extra content is made). To me it would make sense to charge lower and make it download only for a game that size. It's going to be way smaller than a link between world's, put it that way and I paid £30 for that at launch.

Re: People Are Review-Bombing Pokémon: Let's Go Across Major Sites, Amazon Japan Blocks User Scores

Started playing this evening and yeah it's easy but I'm really enjoying it. The game is full of character, I got to run through mt moon without fighting a million mandatory zubat and using the pokeball accessory made me grin like I was a 6 year old again playing yellow for the first time. It's got it's faults but it's a great game. I'm not a casual player either I've owned almost every Pokémon game since red and blue.

@exopiscea
It's good, I got the remaster on pc when it came out. I had never had the opportunity to play it before either! I love it, fantastic story, interesting and life-like world and the mini-games are awesome. My only niggle is how often you have to kill time on it. Sometimes it will be like 8am and you have to do something the following day at like 10pm. If they had found a way to speed up or skip time it would have been handy. But to be honest there is everything from slot machines to arcade games in it. So you aren't twiddling your thumbs too much.

Re: Mario & Luigi Developer AlphaDream Recruiting Graphic Designers For Switch And Smartphone Projects

@Cobalt

1. Yep I agree there is a fair few ports, but at least they upgraded them when they ported them. It also makes sense when they put years into development on a game and hardly anyone played them due to Wii u sales being terrible. It isn't like they have put off launching brand new games to make ports. They're just fillers!

2- I personally don't think it was overpriced in comparison to the average tablet at the moment. Even now your average tablet with 4gb ram, and a decent GPU and GPU is well over £200. You have to think how long it took them to develop it. They have to make it back somehow? And why should they sell it cheaper if they know it will sell at that price? They have market analysts for that very reason.

3 I don't see how it is the reverse of their philosophy? I don't particularly like all of their mobile games but at least they're not all copies of other games. They still feel like a Nintendo product and they aren't pay to win. They are also making them a lot of money which yes is easy money but why is that a bad thing?

4 Yeah sure they could keep it free, you are right. But if it means an improvement I personally would rather pay (particularly as it's miles cheaper than PSN or gold who have been charging for WAY longer). If it means they will actually have more funds to dedicate to improving online services then that's fine. If they waste the money and don't improve online over last gen then yeah I'll be annoyed.

5. Again this is unfortunately what happens when it is a tablet based system. No other company throw in free SD cards either.

6 What games haven't been full? As far as I know all dlc so far in first party Nintendo games was developed after release.

Its just my point of view, not trying to shoot you down I am just wondering why you think that way?
