Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has an incredible lineup of Nintendo stars: Mario, Link, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, Peter Griffin... Hang on.
Yes, not content with the 70+ characters available in the game, and no doubt trying to add a little humour to proceedings, this mod has replaced King K. Rool with Peter Griffin, star of US animated sitcom, Family Guy. The original moves work surprisingly well with Peter's appearance, and watching him do K. Rool's taunts is definitely a standout moment.
You can watch him in action in this tweet below, fighting against a Piranha Plant who has been turned into a Chain Chomp, no less.
This isn't the first time we've seen Smash mods, of course. Just a few years ago, fans put Goku into Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and there have been plenty more besides.
As ever, feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

@ryancraddock Peter is using K Rool's model, not DeDeDe...
Edit: TFW you keep waiting for Ryan to update the article, driving your Smash OCD crazy...
Oh no, how can NLife do this? We shouldn't give attention to modders, 'cause they're all pirates and it's the purest of all evils, blablabla, yadayadayada, complain, whine, moan...
I know they're both kings, but that's K.Rool's moveset, not Dedede.
We need a quagmire spirit.
@ThanosReXXX There won't be any whining because they've all stopped following Nintendo Life. That's what they said, right?
@ThanosReXXX I wonder if it's different since K Rool is a pirate himself...
@FredBiletnikoff Wouldn't that be something?
Now mod in Ernie the giant chicken
@AlohaPizzaJack You've got a point there, but such subtleties and/or irony will probably fly right over their heads...
@FredBiletnikoff One can only hope...
@ThanosReXXX At least all of us fun users can enjoy this while it lasts
@AlohaPizzaJack Ain't that the truth...
looks at above comments, coughs Yeah, so uh... That's clearly K.Rool and not DeDeDe. But uh... Well you already knew that by now.
I might be missing something, but where did Ryan get Dedede from?
@AlohaPizzaJack Oh good grief, what have I done?! Sorry, it's been a long morning 😅
@luke88 The only thing I can think of is that I saw King K. Rool's moves, prepped the article, and then my mind switched it from one King to another.
My bad folks. All is now fixed. Fire me now.
@ryancraddock You had one job, Ryan! Your correction is only the beginning of you Ultimate penance.
Funny thing is I do his voice almost perfectly and have been doing it for like 15 years lmao.
@Shiryu One should not be without the other IN A FIGHTING GAME.
Shrek or Obelix next please.
Good to see NL giving coverage to mods and piracy. Maybe they can do a top list and where to download from?
Family Guy: "We are vulgar and rude, that's comedy right?"
Occasionally they can be funny. But I am not a fan of the whole "this guy is stupid, let's laugh at him" stuff.
@Heavyarms55 Married With Children did the whole shtick better, IMO
Peter Griffin as DLC would be genuinely awesome! Let’s have Homer Simpson, too 🙂
Please no lol im glad nintendo doesnt put these kinda characters in.
This is the best and worst thing I hae evre seen, and I need more.
I wonder how many of the people that made this own the game.
@spirit_flame yeah and they shouldn't cover M rated games like Conker's Bad Fur Day too. I like to be less informed on a Nintendo news source.

@Lizuka
What character's moves was he using? I'm thinking in my head Captain Falcon but I don't know so that's just a guess.
...Chain Chomp for Smash!
didn't know Nintendo already revealed the 2nd DLC
This is hilarious I'll definitely be trying it out.
Here I thought they should have used Wario..
@idrawrobots what that has to do with anything here? They are filthy modders destryoing Nintendo pure gift to humanity? Please...
Peter without the giant chicken in a fighting game? That's just a missed opportunity.
"Like that time I had that forklift and got the Wind Fish off the beach!"
@Shiryu You sir, win the internetz
@Lizuka
Yeah that makes more sense. Cool.
