As Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate has quite a bit more content and significantly more variety than Freedom Unite, I can easily see some putting thousands (plural) of hours into 4U eventually. My brother already has 500+ hours in 4U.
@Squid_Gangster I still highly recommend an N3DS for Monster Hunter enthusiasts. As far as controls go, the C-stick is very useful, and having ZR be lock-on and ZL open chat means less messing with the touch screen. For graphical improvements in 4U, the textures and framerate are so much better it's not funny. It goes from sub-20 FPS with muddy textures to ~45 FPS with sharp textures in multiplayer.
For a game that people play for literally hundreds or even thousands of hours, I don't think getting the best experience for merely $200 (even less if you trade in/sell your old one) is a bad investment.
@TeeJay There's no disclaimer, so I'm pretty sure the answer is no.
In any case, if this WASN'T reported on, they'd be getting hundreds of "tips" through email or spam through other comment sections about how there's a Kids React to Pokemon Snap.
@MightyKrypto
You seem to forget that PC gaming is a thing.
Ironically, Sony is my third choice when it comes to current-gen gaming. Nintendo = PC > Sony >>>>>> Anything else
Kirby being OP? Sounds like people are salty about being Jump-Suck-Kirbycided in casual matches.
He's been awful competitively since Melee. I'm just glad my spirit animal Captain Falcon again has the power to show you his moves. Seeing him reduced to a punching bag in Brawl made me cry manly tears.
@tlegg I've been using Humble Bundle for quite a while now (at least since July of last year), and there have always been some games that require DRM. Usually it's Steam. It hasn't been solely DRM-Free for quite a while now.
If you actually care about DRM and are not just salty about Nintendo of [Your Region] not approving the bundle for your region, you can go to GOG.com - but don't expect to find all the games they have on the Humble Bundle.
My wallet still jumped out of my back pocket - WITHOUT PERMISSION, I MAY ADD - and glued my credit card to the screen until I typed the information in.
You know, Just Dance is a fantastic party game. No controller needed, just follow the dance moves. Plus, who doesn't want to dance to Can't Touch This or Gonna Make You Sweat?
With a large, white bedsheet and a projector, it certainly made my graduation party a hit with everyone.
@ottospooky I was referring to this incident in specific. How does this one company that accumulated debt while pulling a profit from games, whose CEO vanished for no good reason, that is very likely loanshark/Yakuza-related, mean that this will be a trend for Japanese games?
If you wanted to say that Japanese game sales are on a decline while mentioning, say, Puzzle & Dragons' or KanColle's sales, I would totally agree with you.
@Dankykong That screenshot of the stairway looks EXACTLY like the stairway in 999. Not too much of a surprise, seeing that both are set in replicas of the Titanic.
@Spoony_Tech Except you don't need to pay extraordinary amounts of money to import anymore. It'll maybe cost at most $10 more to import a game. Plus, some games have been out for years (Lost Planet EX Troopers) or will otherwise never come out here ever (Taiko no Tatsujin).
@abe_hikura As of this comment, it's already past £500k. It's a sure shot for one million. I wouldn't be surprised to see this project skyrocket to Mighty No. 9 numbers or beyond.
The conspiracy theories going on here are, frankly, hilarious. As @TheRegginator said, Sony is paying them off to release on PS4 first. Retro Platformers/Adventure games sell like gangbusters on Nintendo platforms. If we don't see this on Wii U in the future, I'll be very surprised.
@Sanya A group already did that same thing several years ago, with a map you can download. The catharsis after wiping the Water Temple off the map with TNT was great.
Only 3.6 GB? The original Wii game is 7.9 GB. I guess that's the result of all those compressed textures. I sure do hope they don't compress the audio or cut the Japanese voice track.
@Sakuraichu Using Twitch chat as an example of anything? Twitch chat is a terrible, scum-filled dump everywhere. This awful behavior is not limited to Smash Bros streams.
@Metal_Slugger
I played 300+ hours of MH3U with 3D on. It actually physically hurts my eyes to play in 2D after being so used to the 3D. I also recently got a Cyber Gadget Old 3DSXL grip for the same reason, and I'm loving it. Nice and big, and makes it feel like a GC controller.
@Marcins94
Absolutely.
Combat in Monster Hunter is a lot more involved, but you'll enjoy the pace of battle a lot more at the beginning than someone who just went in blind. Rolls in Monster Hunter have a lot less i-frames than in Dark Souls, though.
@thebigN If you tried that, you'll be waiting forever, my friend. Nintendo wouldn't just completely annul their only New 3DS exclusive to date like that.
A note on the lighting differences: The cutscenes use whatever time it is in-game. So if you think one looks better because of that, you're actually getting both!
After having ripped all my GC collection to my PC, this is some fantastic news! Now if they can just get those Rogue Squadron zfreeze bugs ironed out...
@OneBagTravel I was going to link that. Glad someone else already did. Only problem with that is that there is no version of Tetris outside of Japan that has that high of a skill cap, and no version anywhere that is available to the casual consumer.
@UNSOLUTEDSALT Deleting a game to make room is not comparable to putting a cartridge back in the box, on a shelf. It's more like completely wiping the cartridge data, putting it back in the box, then renting a storage unit 15-60 minutes away from your home and putting all your games with no save data there.
There are several games on the eShop that are multiple GB in size. Getting Resident Evil: Revelations digitally means you will barely be able to fit one more game - if that - on the stock 4GB microSD.
@coolaggro There's a larger blood flash and significantly more hitlag when you hit a weaker point. If I pull off a Great Sword full charge on a Rathalos' head, it sticks in there for like half of a second, whereas if I hit it on the wings, there's a small flash and very little hitlag.
@Revanmann I have the exact same type in my 3DS XL now, but in 64GB. Excellent card. Cheap, too.
@SkywardLink98 Not only does it work fine, it'll make the transfer painless. You won't even have to use a PC; just remove the microSD from the adapter once the NNID is transferred and put it in the New 3DS.
