Publisher LINE Games and developer Studio ReG have announced that the strategy RPG The War of Genesis: Remnants of Gray is coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2022.
Built using Unreal Engine 4, the game is a remake of the first and second War of Genesis titles. A South Korean release is confirmed for now, but there's no word on an international launch.
It certainly looks pretty tasty, and we like the way it mixes free-roaming exploration with grid-based combat. Fire Emblem may have some competition – assuming, of course, there are plans for a release outside of South Korea.
Thanks to Rico for the tip!

Oh cool can't wait now only if they are Physical and comes in LE or CE editons....
OK It look f**ing badass and I'll probably get it. What's people obsession with physical releases anyway?
No problem! Hoping that sharing this with the community will push the publisher and developer to release it internationally. Building a fanbase may just do that!
This looks awesome, can’t work out if it’s turn based combat but either way I’d be very interested if it gets a European release.
Thanks for sharing Ricowtje!
@Bl4ckb100d for me, it's resellability.
A lot of Ninty games I get, play, and resell on to fund the next game I get. I obv keep a lot of them but eventually i'll sell on - or replace with digital option if I like it and it goes on sale #mariorabbids
I thought a new Fire Emblem had been announced for a second based on the headline, then I re-read it.
Game looks interesting. May have to keep an eye out to see if it does come West.
2022, we're in for a long wait.
It looks really, really good. Too good. We'll see what the finished product ends up looking like.
Got tricked by title , but yeah looks great
Hmmm... that's a good reason to learn Korean if it doesn't get localized
Wow, so, the War of Genesis. I mean, I lived through that in the early '90s. But it was evidently a lot cooler if you were in Asia. Do the white-haired generals represent Miyamoto and Yu Suzuki?
Wow, this looks absolutely incredible.
In what way is this specifically like Fire Emblem as opposed to any other strategy RPG?
@Bl4ckb100d i'm more of a digital guy but if a game is real old you can get a good deal on it, bravely second is a good example. i'm not sure about the preservationists though since the cartridges have been getting less complete requiring partial downloads and updates
Surprisingly hard to find information about the previous games in this series (such as the games it is a remake of).
Looks very much in my wheelhouse but we will have to see if it at least gets an English translation.
@ancientlii Yes I prefer your answer, we will never see digital only titles in sale bins
I'll keep an eye on this one. Looks amazing but I'll only get it if it comes in a beautiful physical edition.
@Bl4ckb100d how about the idea that when your digital is no longer available to do I can still play my physical
@Dirty0814 that's a great idea too! have a cookie
Nope I'm good. Don't like cookies.ill take a eShop card though 🤣
Looks nice! Keeping my eye on this one.
Let's hope it's not so much Fire Emblem Style but more Final Fantasy Tactics!
Looks great btw.
Ok, I want this!
Highly intriguing. A long wait though.
Lot's have tried but no Fire Emblem rivals have really rivaled it in a very long time. So I'll not hold my breathe.
Unreal engine 4 on gpu that’s based off of a 650m? Yah this could could go bad real fast. 1080p dock with a variable 24/30 FPS with dynamic resolution is what I’m predicting.
Ok, you’ve got my undivided attention....
That looks sexy as heck... as long as the community doesn't start asking for Waifu BS and schools or outfits to change into or vegetable fetch quests or any of the other filler crap that ruined what was once a great game named Fire Emblem.
Nintendo: Stick with what works; if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
