Ever since Joker joined the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster, there have been calls for Atlus to release the mainline Persona series on the Nintendo Switch. While there's still no sign of it happening, the spin-off Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers has already made its way across to the hybrid system in Japan.
In its latest financial statement, Atlus has now revealed Persona 5 Scramble was one of three games that exceeded sales expectations in the most recent fiscal year. Unfortunately, it didn't reveal individual system sales or the combined amount.
If this is the case, perhaps it will encourage Atlus to release The Phantom Strikers locally on the Nintendo Switch. Keep in mind, there's been no official announcement for the west just yet, and the last update (back in April) was that localisation was 'still being planned'.
Hopefully, the positive sales reception to Phantom Strikers in Japan might lead to even more Persona games on the Switch. Would you show your support for Persona 5 Scramble if it was released locally on the Nintendo Switch? Tell us below.

Wish this creates a way for a possiblity of persona 5R coming to the switch hopefully.
Let's be honest... This game is coming to the West sooner or later
It's either Q4 of 2020 or Q1 - Q2 2021.
Atlus isn't going to not localize this soon.
I still can't believe Atlus waste everyone's time at New Game + Expo last month to show gameplay footage of Catherine. I'm really hoping Atlus participates again this year at Tokyo Game Show with an announcement for Persona 5 Scramble localization.
In all honesty with all this support I don’t see how they don’t understand we want their games and will pay them money. They keep saying they need to know we want these games and yet it’s highly requested and whatever they do give us it’s eaten up.. I’m interested in this game either way so imma get it but I hope this sends the message that P5 really should be on the switch
I might give it a try if localized.
Atlus....please, PLEASE show us something, anything from SMTV! Whats happening with that game!?
@Zoda_Fett
They have the Wii era publisher mindset where they want to test and give table scraps
My Atlus support is still being planned.
Give us Persona 1-5 already, dammit...
The least Atlus could do was say that a western release will happen even if they don't give out a release date. Is that too much to ask?
I still love how this is a direct sequel to a game that Switch owners can't play and we'll probably miss references and callbacks to the base P5 game. Yes the anime and manga are things but both of those are incomplete sources that don't compare to the game itself. This is just a complete joke.
In all honesty I would prefer a sequel to Tokyo Mirage Sessions instead of Persona 5 on Switch since TMS deserves to garner a bigger fanbase with more to its name. TMS Spirits in Smash and TMS characters in FE Heroes give me hope, but I'm not expecting much. But I personally love TMS and don't care about Persona so I'd rather that get continued on Switch.
And I'm still waiting on Shin Megami Tensei V information.
@Slowdive When it comes to Persona, it amazes me how, from my perspective, that Atlus knows what the fans want yet at the same time, they don't.
@Rpg-lover i cant with you babies R just came to the PS4 3 months ago you people never cared for P5 until joker showed up in smash and sakurai put him in because he loved the game. MUH GAMES seriously guys own more than one system stop harassing a company and begging you guys aere making switch fans look awful
@Friendly no you guys seriously need to stop begging its obnoxious.
See Atlus, persona sells well on Switch. glares in a told ya so manner Now localize and port the rest!
@Slowdive support them everywhere persona everywhere is good. that simple.
@JR150 easy: own more than one system where were you nintendo kids when persona 5 came out on the PS3? its accessible. whining and attacking a company is ridiculous. its just as bad a xbox kids whining that astrial chain is on the switch. like its annoying. PS joker was put in smash simply because he loves the game thats it. theres no nintendo theory. Smash has tons of third party support why arent you guys complaining for banjo on the switch?
@NintendoPok what i said harms no one. And you're free to make your demands if you want it's left for atlus to say NO, so please don't come and preach to me about harassment! Cause that's what you're doing now to me.
Show us something actually good like SMT V
I just want a portable p5r or the original, as playing p4 golden on the vita made me fall in love with the series more. Also for the dork here attacking others for demanding what they wish will come to the system, mind you i have p5r on PlayStation 4 and i still want it portable as that's the best way to play from my own experience.
But this was announced in a Nintendo Direct with a release in early 2020, wasn’t it?
They’ve localised the anime now, it doesn’t seem like things were voiced at the same time with that and P5R all coming separately.
I’m currently playing through original P5 and I replayed the demo for P5S on Sunday. I can’t wait.
I played the demo a lot of times
I really want them to release them with the English text
So I can finally understand what they're saying
PD: I really enjoyed the music and the gameplay
I don’t get it. This would literally be a license to print money. What makes it truly insane is that this is Atlas we are talking about. Atlas originally made its mark in America by localizing games nobody else would. They’ve localized tons of obscure games over the years. But they can’t localize this?!?!
@NintendoPok buying yet another system just because of one game? What a waste of money...
Besides, people haven't started this anticipation just because of Joker in SSB:U, even though that it raisef people's interest. It's primarily because of the rumours of Persona on Switch before Persona Scramble got revealed together with the survey about which Persona games people would like on the system.
If people see a slight possibility of a popular franchise to be on their system, of course they will show their interest... Anything else would be idiocy (it certainly would make them think twice about releasing anything on Switch if people showed indifference)
@Skalgrim I don't think it was in any Nintendo Direct. Or if it was it would certainly of been just snuck into a Japan one. It was slated early 2020 for Japan and launched in February.
There has been no official confirmation on any western release. Though it was ridiculous how much the western Atlus branches were hyping up the P5S tease.
Yet Atlus does not want P5S to come to the West
@NintendoPok
Are you that fixated on trying to put down people for wanting to get into something? If so, that's really sad. You completely misunderstood my comment. Whether Persona comes to Switch or not doesn't matter to me. If it does, I'll play it. If it doesn't, I won't. To be honest, SMT and Persona should be on all systems to more people can enjoy it. They put P4G on PC so I don't see any reason why they can't just put everything on everything.
However, I said I would prefer a sequel to Tokyo Mirage Sessions and information on SMT V since Atlus seems so bent on keeping true Persona titles on PS systems. They should want to give equal treatment to both systems.
Atlus is being coy just to pan out that sweet Sony timed exclusivity at this point.
@JR150 I'd also love to see a TMS sequel!
With Atlus really abusing their western fanbase, especially non-PS4 gamers, I'm beginning to think that they hate money
So you're tellin me theres a chance
@Slowdive I don't think it is up to Atlus. Given the fact, that until recently, Peronsa mainserie game never strayed off of Sony platforms, it seems pretty certain to me, that some kind of deal is in place there. Also take note of the fact, that P4G made it to PC around the same time a first major Sony Studios exclusive, aka Horizon, made it to PC as well. Could be a coincidence ... could also be not a coincidence. If not, I feel a P6 announcement is not as far away as we might have believed.
As for P5 on Switch, I'm very sceptical - at least for the near future. If I had to bet, I would say it is not happening. But again, no idea what that deal between Sony and Atlus looks like, so ... it is not impossible. I don't think however that "demand" as such is going to do much either way. There is little reason to assume that P5 would not perform well on Switch given the chance.
Of course I'd love the "real deal" but the music is reason alone to pick this up once it eventually comes to the old world. I have Hyrule Warriors to keep my entertained though and while it's all repetitive like mad, I don't mind a single bit. It's stupid fun.
I just hope this game can differentiate itself enough from all the other "warriors" games and their derivates out there, so I can pick it up and enjoy it as much as Hyrule Warriors.
I’ll buy 5S on switch only after they release P5R on it first so I can experience the story without spoilers.
I Will care when Atlus give us a proper Persona game...
I hope SMT came to PS4/PS5 while Persona comes to switch.
Does anyone have any evidence Sony has any say in persona.
Like I assumed it's only on playstations cause it's a jrpg and a japanese console which sold the best. P4g now on steam is a good sign that atlas might just slowly be coping theres a western demand bigger than rpg niche crowd on playstation
If they release Persona 5 Scramble to the USA I would totally buy it day 1 it comes out
@NintendoPok disagree. We’re at least not reviewbombing.
Plus, the experience is different, because hybrid switch, and we have a main character showing up in multiple games on the system already.
@korosanbo switch has got p5 scramble(waiting to be localized for the west soon).
maybe they have a plan to release p5r at some point, that's why they're holding back to give switch p4G. But like it goes it's just an assumption. But if it ever happens a huge win for Nintendo because it will sell their system like hotcakes.
@JR150 All it takes is one look at his post history to realize @NintendoPok doesn’t know the difference between positive and negative attention and is just spouting negativity in a desperate attempt to get any kind of response. I would find it annoying if it weren’t so sad.
I'm not buying/playing another Persona game until I get the next mainline Shin Megami Tensei. Either Atlus recognizes the demand for their flagship franchise in the West or they make Persona their flagship franchise and let Shin Megami Tensei die out
I don't get how this still hasn't been confirmed for localization, you'd think it to be a forgone conclusion to bring this game to the west ASAP
Who are the genius's at Atlus that can't read a room? Persona 5 will kill on Switch. Why do they keep pu$$y footing around
Atlus is the kind of company that is somehow successful in spite of its baffling business practices. It truly astounds me that they would even consider the possibility of P5S not finding an audience in the West. P5 is considered one of the greatest RPG's ever made, and it sold close to 4 million copies worldwide.
But no, that surely must've been a fluke, and releasing this canon sequel outside Japan would definitely result in a net loss for the company. I get that it might not be the kind of game to dethrone Fortnite in the collective mindshare of the public, but it's completely ridiculous that they don't think they could at least break even bringing this to the rest of the world.
Slightly off-topic, but I would love a new Trauma Centre game on Switch. I want to feel them squishy organs via HD rumble.
the more i hate atlus for not being client centered to consumers.
Remember when Atlus said there would be Shin Megami Tensei V on switch.....
I don't want scramble. I want Persona 3-5. Even just one of them.
But darn it if you outright say "buy scramble if you want the real games" then I will do it. I'll be salty, but I will do it.
Brain age for the switch hasn’t been released in the us god knows when this will come out
I wish they'd just finish up SMT V. I really don't care about recycled Persona.
Everybody should buy Catherine to show your support of Atlus games. Right now in Japan it is bombing hard.
They're holding their games hostage, we better all buy Catherine or we'll never get that P5R port lol
@thecowgoesmoo87 hell yeah, that's the original reason I bought a Nintendo Switch!! I'll keep waiting though... and counting the seconds until SMT V comes out....
@Sakaixx the only SMT game to come to PS was SMT Nocturne (Lucifer's Call in Europe) and personally I'd like to see a dual release of the series on PS/Switch. I'd also like to see SMT on Xbox because then I could introduce my father to the series (but Atlus doesnt release many of their games, if any, on Xbox).
@thesilverbrick ok? sorry you cant play
@JR150 no im saying if people REALLY WANT TO PLAY IT they can but everytime a solution is given they come up with excuses "ew PS4 ew i dont want more than system i want it all on one system" besides SMTV is a SWITCH exclusives and your pining for Persona. seriously stop
@danemord well theres a solution play it on the PS4 if you dont want to you dont really care. you guys sound like people who refuse to wear a mask.
@Aiodensghost lol WRONG. SMT best output was on PS2. SMT Nocturne, SMT Digital Devil Saga duology (my all time fav SMT), SMT Raidou Kuzunoha. All goes down as one of JPRG finest classics and hidden gems. All of them never been re released to other platform barring PSN PS3 rerelease for some.
SMT also been on xbox infact SMT:Nine on xbox the basis for SMT Imagine Online on PC.
@NintendoPok I've already played the game on PS4, so that's a weird response. I think that you have a way too black and white perspective about this, the real world has way more shades than that
Koei Tecmo may also be a big part of why the game hasn’t released in North America yet.
I ordered the game from Japan, and am about 30 hours in. I absolutely love it. I do really hope to play in English as well though.
