Never got round to finishing Mario 64 back in the day! I know, hang me up and quarter me, but I'll make sure I finish Odyssey... then pickup my Mario 64 save file and finally finish it too.

@Nintendoforlife They’ve been in this situation many times before. They clearly need a hard look at how they go about it in future.

If Nintendo’s so strict with street dates, surely it has the wisdom to not ship copies to retailers so early. It seems like such a simple solution to the problem?!

I’ve been leaving sd cards until absolutely needed, as I rarely download games. The guide will come in handy when I do.

@thatawesomedude If it ever goes online it sync's the time server side (as said in article). Date & time can't be changed manually ever again. 1.0.0 may be the exception, but article isn't clear on that. Even waiting for July 11th on system's greater than 1.0.0 may not do it.

It's always the case that the company starting legal proceedings has had no commercial success with a patent. So they 'sit on it' until they can use it for times like this. In the USA this is common practice, where a company will get teams of engineers to brain storm ideas, then get their lawyers to patent them. It's that very American mentality of running a companies business model on litigation, such low lives!

Passed up last years initial release, but Mr Gilbert well done. You knew people like me would buy it on Switch eventually when their backlog reduced.

Saying it sits between 2DS and New 3DS just because there's no 3D is forgetting about the newer CPU etc, which I'm presuming is the same as the New 3DS. So it sits perhaps slightly to the right of New 3DS.

@BarFooToo It's really a 'stepping stone' for first timers. I'm a programmer by vocation, if the price is right I may get it to introduce to my niece.

Store code distributions are an underhand way of getting people to spend money they otherwise wouldn't have intended to! Nothing more to it than that!

Got mine on day 0 from pre-order. It's my 1st handheld (never had any as a kid), and it's left quite an impression on me. Can't remember how many games I've got, but have almost all 1st party. I'm not done with it yet, so I hope the home console part of NX releases first. Happy Birthday 3DS!

No where do I see details on where registration takes place. Is there a site to go to on Feb 17th? Does it happen on iOS/android, because the app doesn't come out untill March.

I'm waiting for those Unity projects. I might finally have my first 'New 3DS' game to play nearly 2 years after getting the system. No, I don't play Xenoblade Chronicles before you defend it.

@Nicolai Well it fits in with the home and handheld sharing the same system architecture, "the 2 are brothers" as Nintendo said. The same game media playable on both systems, control the home console with the portable, then just pop the controller in your pocket and carry on playing on the go.

I enjoyed both 3DS M&L's! I don't see why there's any issues.

Is the tournament mode in this update? I can't be bothered watching the 2.5 hour splatournament to find out!

Shame there's no physical copy of the games. Guess it keeps cost down!

The only thing to make me pay this is the link cable work around. Otherwise I'd just download a rom and emulate it.

Had Rodea Wii U LE pre-ordered since April. Annoyed that NISA said the LE was exclusive to their site, then Nintendo sold it on their site without the £5 delivery charge!

Didn't think there'd be a lot of people getting this (60% 'nothing for me this week'). Rodea is a pretty good game, you should check it out.
