I have to agree with games being therapeutic for people with mental health issues. I was diagnosed with mental health problems about 10 years ago, and since I got back into games with the Wii and now the Wii U I've found them very therapeutic. Who needs tablets?!

Fly a couple of times a year, but only in Europe so I don't know when these new rules will apply here. But I love playing my 3DS during flight, makes the journey more bearable.

I tried but didn't finish the first one (can't remember the name) and didn't finish Partners in time either, but never tried Bowser's inside story. Hope that clears things up.

Mario games are always going to be great, the next one bettering the last so I'm not worried that Miyamoto will have less/no input in the future.

£39.99 each for Layton & Winter Olympics? What a f*cking joke! I'll stick to the physical copies for £29.86 and £29.99. I had high hopes of going all digital this generation, but the pricing policy prevents me from justifying the download. Get it sorted Nintendo! I'll only be downloading Wii Sports Tennis, at least that has a palatable price.

I knew it would get slated in the reviews. I'm keeping my pre-order anyway, as I know I'll still get enough out of it for my £30. The other Olympics titles got similar scores, and each time I found them fun and enjoyable. Games journo's are overrated!

Glad to hear Mario & Luigi: Dream Team has made it past 1 million! I was really impressed by that game, considering I couldn't finish the first one and never tried Bowser's inside story, I had doubts if I could get into a third one. Highly recommended to casual RPG fans like me.

When will we start getting digital sales figures? I know a lot of people downloaded ACNL (including myself)!

I said it earlier in the week with the SNES one, it looks tacky when it's not official.

Ok, but for me Nintendo hardware is enough. I tried flirting with the idea of a
PS4 to get the varied 3rd party support, but got cold feat because most of the games are FPS' or games I simply can't get excited about or care for (what some would say are 'core' games like Assasin's creed, Metal
Gear and games like that, that I can never seem to complete).

I find there are enough 'core' games on the 3DS as it is, perhaps the Wii U could do with more though.

I'm one of the older ones at 34! I would say the increased 3DS performance is due to all the great 1st party games we got this year; Luigi's Mansion 2, New Leaf, Mario & Luigii Dream Team, Pokemon X/Y. I'm sure they all contributed to hardware sales.

I heard the free Wii Fit U trial runs from 1st Nov to 31st January. So does that mean that if I download it this Friday, would I be able to start it for the first time on 31st January and still get the whole free month after that?

I just don't have time for it until the xmas games rush is over, but I wouldn't want to miss out on the free trial, 'cause if I like it I will then purchase the Fit Meter to unlock the time limit.

I'm just pointing out that it smells of desperation to me.

Don't just get the download version because of small file sizes! Punish Nintendo for their overpriced downloads and shun the eShop. They must be taught that if they want a vibrant digital platform they must change their policy on pricing. DO NOT GET THE DOWNLOAD, NINTENDO MUST BE FORCED TO LOWER THEIR DIGITAL PRICES!

Ordered! I was planning on using stars to play Wii VC games, Super Empire Strikes Back and Super Return of the Jedi, but oh well, another time.

Off topic: I don't understand why Nintnedo haven't made stars usable on the 3DS and Wii U eShops yet. I emailed them, and they just said you can use them on the Wii shop, which I already know and doesn't answer the question. Sometimes I wonder about Nintendo!

Nothing for me this week, getting Lost Worlds on disc (not paying £39.99 for download). I've run out of patience for Gamecube games on the Wii U VC, so I've bid on a copy of the actual game!

Trying to finish Harvest Moon: A New Beginning, I just need to win a crop festival on intermediate and then who knows what happens. If I finish that before the weekend's over then I'll make a start on Secret Files 2 on the Wii.

Such a sad organisation. I don't like to see animals suffer, but this is just plain wrong.

Microsoft says they don't have an automatic checking system, and that Nintendo need to flag it up? That's basically Microsoft saying 'we don't condone this but we'd rather do nothing about it ourselves so we can continue to rake in the money.

Exactly the same reason I continue to buy physical. I've only downloaded a couple of full retail games; 1 that was the same price as cartridge and the other was New Leaf because it was free from a buy 3 games get 1 free download promotion in Europe.

I set out at the beginning of this generation to go all digital, but the pricing has stopped me. Having read this report though, I can see why we're in this situation with digital pricing.

Well ok, i just don't remember seeing him tilting the gamepad. Maybe I was too busy watching the race.

Anyone know if you can use the gamepad gyro controls, so the gamepad is like a giant steering wheel with a screen in the middle. I didn't like MK7's gyro controls, but that was because the whole 3DS was a steering wheel and interfered with the 3d screen. It would be different with the gamepad.

I really hope they put some extra single player features and game modes in MK8, like the ones in Sonic Transformed, because MK really needs something like that rather than the same old things they trot out every generation. Something tells me that's not going to happen.

I wish I had friends to play the multiplayer with. I missed out on that feature in the New Super Mario Bros. series. Still, I'm sufficiently hyped enough to know I'll enjpy the single player.

New Leaf flying the 3ds flag in 18th?! That's rather sad, considering Mario & Luigi Dream Team Bros. has been released since New Leaf, that game is amazing and should be doing better than it is.

I'm very dissapointed! They screw up on the battery on the original 3ds, then have to release the xl with bigger battery and now they release another iteration of the console and screw up on the battery once again! What are you thinking Nintendo, get a grip.

@jon_simmons I asked Nintendo this about a year ago, and they didn't even give me a straight answer, just said u can purchase Wii points with stars even though I specifically mentioned when redeeming stars for eShop credit would be possible (on either 3DS or Wii U). It's things like this that dent my faith in them.

Like someone else said, the Wii got me back into console gaming after a long time of exclusively gaming on the PC. I don't care what the haters say about it, I'm a proud Wii owner and it will always have a special place in my gaming memories.

Lol, I'd completely forgotten about Yarn Yoshi, it seems to have gone off the radar. Hoping they'll show MiiVerse for the 3DS update, and performance improvements for the Wii U's update.

It annoys me when Europe gets games a month after the U.S. By the time I get it the yanks will have a dozen different walkthroughs on YouTube, so I don't then see the point of doing my own one.

I was pleasently surprised by the quality of it! Although I couldn't help feeling it was rather expensive, and maybe I could've spent my stars on something else. It'll sit proud on my gaming shelves, collecting dust obviously.

They're just cheap plastic last time I heard about them. Not worth 5000 stars. I recently spent all my stars on a Mushroom Kingdom figurine and 3DS card case.

I'd love another StarFox, but like Shigsy said: I wouldn't want the franchise to suffer just because a game was rushed out by an internal development team that weren't able to maintain standards. So I'm pretty happy with how they're managing their resources.

Nah, pointless me getting a Steam Box, my PC can run everything I want to play and it's already hooked up to my t.v. I'd just be getting another piece of hardware that downloads and plays steam content that I can already do on my PC. I'll be buying a new PC in a couple of years anyway, so I'd have older hardware if I got the Steam Box next year. I'd rather spend the money on a PS4 , cause I can't get PS exculsives on a PC.
