When I went on wikipedia I was amazed at the sheer volume of eShop exclusives coming out in April and in the pipeline. It made me worry about the quality of a lot of them. I'm all for this, but I don't want to be buried in a sea of crap this gen.

Got them all except advance wars through the ambassador programme, nothing to see hear, move along.

Had it since day -1, still remember opening the protective sleeve of my first ever handheld, then opening the system for the first time. I remember hearing the system menu jingle for the first time. It's been a non stop roller coaster since, and I hope it continues for a few more years. Happy Birthday, 3DS!

@Jazzer94 Yeah, I know, it's not like the Wii U should be more expensive to port to than the X1 or PS4. I've got a PS4, so if I backed it and it didn't reach $95K then I'd still be covered.

Never played the original, so unsure if it's my thing. Loved 3D Streets of Rage, was it made easier for the 3DS? Because I died a lot and just seemed to keep respawning at the same point until I finished the game (even on hardest)?!

Would've got the SMK download but I already have the original on SNES cart, and the £5.49 discount only applies to the download version of MK8 (getting Limited Edition with t-shirt and keyring from Nintendo store). Will be getting PL v PW on cart, as it's about £10 cheaper.

I'm not bothered about demos for big Nintendo titles, I've played previous entries in many of Nintendo's franchises, so I already know pretty much (with pre-release internet coverage) what a Ninty game will be like. It's when I come across a game that is a new IP or a game that has drastically changed, that I'd want a demo before buying the full game.

Well judging by 2 photos that don't show much track, I'd find it hard to say what I think of Sunshine Airport. Going by previous details I'm know of an airplane taking off while you race down a runway, so I'm sure it's pretty cool.

I've given up waiting for Gamecube games on Wii U. I just bought a Gamecube console in the end, and will buy the actual discs! LOL

This would certainly clear up some space on my gaming desk for future consoles, but I'd rather wait for N64 support.

Seeing as it's a new story made specifically for this game, I don't think it will require previous knowledge from past Layton and Wright games. This game uses gameplay elements from both series, but they can be picked up easy enough in the game.

Watching the 2nd video really makes me want to have a serious attempt at time trialling.

I already have SMK on cart, and I'm getting the Limited Edition of MK8 so while VC deal is great it's pointless for me.

I see some people want a demo, has there ever been a MK demo? In the mean time I'm going into a coma until 30th May!

Agree with others, it's getting too much unfair criticism. I've just finished World 1 and it's pretty solid so far. I do wish the World 1 boss was a little harder, but they probably get harder further on anyway. Give it a chance nay sayers!

Pre-ordered the Limited Edition Spikey Blue Shell, red shell keyring and bullet bill t-shirt from Ninty's UK online store.

They should have given chest size measurements for the t-shirts, I'm quite small and 'small' usually fits me off the rack, but proper measurements would've been ideal.

Oh, I got Tearaway packed in with my new Vita, how were you not able to get into it? I hope I find it ok, as I've yet to play it.

I'm really surprised Tearaway won over the 3DS games that came out last year. I can appreciate other platforms winning awards, but to have no Nintendo handhelds even nominated is just blatantly ignorant. Awards mean very little to me, I play what I enjoy and sales mean more and that's what the 3DS has.

I've pre-ordered it, only cost me £23.92, I really wouldn't want to pay any more than that. Will play as soon as I'm finished LEGO Movie or when I'm next away from home.

Good to see the full retail game download versions getting discounts, but they'd still have to be cheaper than physical for me to buy them. How come Super Mario Bros. 2 is cheaper on Wii U VC than 3DS (pre-discount)?

Lol, I remember VR being all the rage back in the early - mid 90's. The buzz died out, but if people think they can bring it into mainstream gaming by improving it, then I'll keep an open mind. I've heard a VR set could be coming for PS4, and I have a PS4 so wouldn't buy a Wii U one, because if Ninty took up VR they probably wouldn't implement it until the next gen.

It's a good little eShop game, but it felt quite 'flat' at the end, just didn't seem to offer any challenge to finally beat it.

A decent offer. I might've been tempted but I already have the Super Nintendo cart, so no real advantage in having a digital copy just to get a small discount on MK8.

There are reports that there are PS4's sitting on shelves in Japan, so supply shortages are no excuse for a sharp fall in sales in that region.

Strange how the Wii U version of Super Mario Bros. is £1 more than the 3DS, before the discount was applied. I played my free copy of the deluxe version, so I don't feel the need to shell out even the discount price for the ordinary version. So a poor week for me.

QOL hasn't piqued my curiosity, it just seems to be more Wii Fit (which I have on Wii & Wii U) and I only use it to weigh myself once in a while.

As a Nintendo fan for life I hope I can afford the next gen of systems (even just one system), cause the new unified platform sounds interesting. Being able to buy a game once and have it work on mobile and home systems sounds awesome. Nintendo won't need to improve their 3rd party support either, as they only need to develop a game once rather than create a handheld and home version, should mean twice as many 1st party games!

Don't care for it anyway, so it's no loss to me. Wouldn't even buy it for my PS4 either.

I hope the Pro controller can be used, otherwise I'll stick to the Wiimote and my Wii wheels.

I like smart phone games, when they're Angry Birds and the like. But shoe horning everything into them and adding in app purchases to "make Mario jump higher" is just despicable. I would never pay £1 to 'cheat' like that, it's just pure greed. As soon as Nintendo goes down that path of thinking it will be the end. Mario is just fine on Nintendo platforms, if you want to play Mario and Zelda etc, then BUY A BLOODY NINTENDO SYSTEM YOU CHEAP SKATES.

I home brewed my Wii, but I don't feel the compulsion to do it with the Wii U.

Nothing for me this week, not even a decent demo. Guess you always pay more fpr getting a game early, I paid the full price for Ace Attorney 5 back in October. Sad to see so little interest in Layton 5, even with a price cut like that.

I have no respect for yet another awards ceremony, that deliberately and flagrantly ignores Nintendo in the handheld category. It'll be flooded with s*itty smartphone games that do not square up to the likes of A Link Between World's, yet unfairly get all the nominations in that category. There's something seriously wrong in the minds of the people who run these awards.

Guess I'll skip the 10 o'clock news tomorrow night, oh well I'm too busy at the usual UK time of 3PM.

@Agent721 They know there's a market, they just don't want to go down the developing on other platform's route. Ninety make hardware the way they do because it compliments their games. Games like Mario wouldn't work on smart devices, Ninty claim their games need their hardware.

I must've "been living down an especially deep well for the past week or so" 'cause I've never heard of this 'till now. I really don't like developer's trying to be successful by copying elements from Nintendo games, and other non-Nintendo games too. Glad it's been taken down.

It's a shame about the pillaring on either side of the picture, but I guess it can't be helped.

Wait... 3D World doesn't win best gameplay award and instead gets best 'family game', these awards are a joke! The Last of Us doesn't deserve 10 awards including Best Gameof The Year. Awards mean little to me, it doesn't change or influence what I want to play, and the people who hold the power in making the award decisions don't represent real gamers and what they play,and what they think of the games.

Just be warned that when I played it over a year ago (download version) I encountered a bug that prevented me loading my game progress. I get a black screen and have to power off the 3DS. I don't know if they've released a patched version, but I got nowhere with the games european publisher when I contacted them. There was a save game bug that has a work around, and that's what they kept giving me but I told them it was a load bug, and I haven't seen any patch released for this problem.

I can't remember the last time I downloaded anything from the eShop on either system!

Why does every report have to end with "Let us know what you think in the comments below", as if we need to be told for the millionth time!

Getting back on topic, I think £179.99 may tempt potential PS4 buyers to consider a Wii U at some point in the near future. I have both systems, but was lucky enough to be able to afford both at the full launch price. It would create a situation much like the last gen, where you either had a Wii and Xbox 360, or a Wii and PS3.
