@AlternateButtons actually there are some if you are a game company that wants to make a profit, cost versus expected sales is an obvious one. Why would they make that extra cost if they can't expect a nominal profit from it. I have also posted for the localizations of interesting games but i can (reluctantly) undestand the POV of a company.
@AlternateButtons in this case i guess because some of those IP's are not especially known here, although i would love to play that baseball game rather than RBI baseball. Also in the case of the Doraemon game, some of the humor is typically japanese and would likely offend some delicate western soul
@ryancraddock already bought this on eshop but this gives me some hope that the other announced FF-games might have a physical release in Europe.
The dilemma however remains, do we buy digitally as soon as a game release (to support possible further releases) or do we wait for a physical release which might hamper sales if this never happens.
@OorWullie it is a pity but i'm not gonna keep waiting for AGES interpretation of future Phantasy Star games when there is a Megadrive Classics collection coming out soonish that contains Phantasy Star 2-4...
@Liam_Doolan If Sega were really listening to fans we would already have shining force, panzer dragoon (saga) and skies of arcadia on Switch instead of the umpteenth version of sonic. shenmue &+2 would be nice but the gameplay is something people should look at without nostalgia. these games are mostly slow and can sometimes be tedious (ah the memories of my job as a forklift driver still haunt me). However they form the basis for later games like Yakuza. If they are thinking about Shenmue then maybe there is some hope for Yakuza ?
@ryancraddock i don't know about the aliens but a Zelda game that links the different games as alternate universes would be nice it's not an original premise as Youkai is doing something similar but considering the lore of the different Zelda incarnations and the possible team ups between links and/or ganondorfs coulde possibly make an interesting plot device
@tourjeff We may still get GTA. Look at what is happening with Overwatch. First it was, Overwatch is not possible. Since then Fortnite and Paladins were released for Switch with success. Suddenly it might be possible to publish Overwatch on the Switch (although nothing has been confirmed up to now)
@link3710 Not really no, their library consist mostly out of iterations of WoW, Starcraft, Diablo, Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch and Heartstone. These are all good games in their own right but that's not tons of other games. Still, I would not mind to see Heartstone and Overwatch make an appearance on Switch as well as WoW, though that last one might be a bit unrealistic.
@carlos82 But i would love them to try. It would be so funny if they could make a good port that remained graphically faithful to the original just to have the jaws of fanboys everywhere drop. If they could do that it would finally bury that aggravating argument that the Switch it so underpowerd. Yes, i know it is underpowered compared to the current consoles but it has already had some great and beautiful games released. That argument bothers me because companies either use it as justification why they will not develop for the Switch or they deliver a subpar effort.
@EvilLucario if only they would use some of their other IPs and actually bring something for the Switch other than Sonic... a remake or collection of Shining Force, Crazy Taxi, Cyber Troopers Virtual on, 100 Swords, Jet Set/Grind Radio, Phantasy Star (Online), Dragon Force, Skies of Arcadia, Clockwork Knight, Mystaria, ... the list of IP's just goes on and on Heck even a remake or port of Virtua Fighter or Fighting Vipers would be just great if done properly. They once made a Magic the Gathering game, that would go great with Switch Sega has so much to offer if only they would put in the effort and develop for Switch
@subpopz yes that would be nice, to bad they won't release the Phantasy Star games as either a bundle/collection or with graphic updates. Also Phantasy Star Online, still waiting Sega..
@Monkeyofthefunk not to burst your bubble but shovelware has been present in eshop since day one, might i remind you of "Vroom In The Night Sky " ? That game is soo bad....
@HAMILTONHOWES Great, i may finally take this on the go and be able to actually finish this... Sometimes i wish all of my backlog in games could be ported to Switch so i finally might have a chance to play them sometime
@Anti-Matter don't give them any ideas like that please i'd rather they focus some of their attention on bringing their bigger franchises to Switch be it in the form of port or an "exclusive" iteration on Switch.
Some other developers might want too follow suit... looking at you Square, time to deliver on your promises
@MoonKnight7 summer is not over yet. They will probably release it end of august. Maybe if tthey'll wait till september after school starts so they can better torment players. It is a torment i, as a proud member of the working force, am all too familiar with. Never enough time to play....
@emperor_ing i'm pretty sure it never left Japan, so claiming at this point that switch owners are not the right audience is like releasing an blockbuster movie on the northpole and then claiming that there was no audience for it.
@Alpha008 My guess is that they'll have a Direct end July - begin August but that would most likely be focused on online services or one specific games. Still i think we can't really complain. Gone are the days of Wii U where we literally had to wait months for even a mediocre game. Games are constantly being released (at least on e-shop) and most are decent to good (although there has been an influx of garbage games . Yes we are getting a lot of ports but as long as they are port of good games, I don't really mind.
@Korosanbo Except that their story changes whenever they release another statement (once every 10 months or so). In previous statements they had to upgrade the engine because Switch used a newer version of Unreal Engine. Later it was that they had not received SDK-kits for Switch which is strange to me since at the announcement of the Switch in januari last year they stated that development had already started. I love Square games but the way the company talks about releases on Nintendo systems sometimes has me raging.
@ryancraddock is 2 switches the maximum or could more switches be interconnected ? Because that would offer a lot of potential for tabletop type games. Combine it with nfc cards or figures and it would offer some interesting possibilities. I mean last year they announced (sorta) the Prodigy that used figures to interact with the switch. Whatever happened to that game ?
@Heavyarms55 They can make a realistic american footballgame, hockey or whatever they will however not be able to use the actual players likenesses. it's just that people would not be as interested.
However i'd rather play this 'silliness' then some actual american footballgame because this look like a lot more fun.
@SwitchVogel so it's basically an updated tamagotchi game, with pokemon ? Greaaat, because that will not get old fast especially as an adult. I love the prospect of that thing annoying the hell out of me during work hours ....
@Donutman I'm hoping the rumors about Ninty experimenting with some kind of interactive Cards is true. Can you imagine the kind of games we could have if they combined card games like Yugioh withNFC functionality
@DonSerrot that would be nice although there some similar games that have already been anounced like Titan Quest or Pillars of Eternity II, although that last one is an rpg ;p
Ever since they announced it, every time i read about Lumines Remastered i have the tune "Heavenly Star" from genki Rockets bouncing around in my head...
@The__Goomba yeah and they will either forget or not remember that this kind of 'racy' game has existed for a long time. Anyone remember those puzzle games on megadrive (and SNES?) where clearing the screen would reveal some pixelated ladyparts ? Or Custer's revenge. God, it looks like games have been poisoning the minds of gamers for decades XD
@Mikemario Maybe, i for on still think it is the job of parents to either educate their children on what violence is and how to deal with it or at least prevent them from playing games /seeing movies that are clearly marked as not appropriate for children below a certain age.
@Shiryu i don't think wé'll have to worry about that Square has been rather, how should i put it..., reticent it seems about releasing any major game on with the obvious exception of DQ builders, setsuna and Lost Sphear, wich are great games. considering however the vast library of games they could port / remake or just release as a "classic" their visible efforts to "support" the switch have been rather shallow till now. Octopath has been announced quite a while as has DQ11 not to mention DQ10 wich has been out in Japan for years...
@Fighter_Hayabusa tFrom what i saw in another video, gameplay seems to be first person view in story and in battle (like in older rpg like Ultima underworld, Lands of Lore etc)
@OorWullie it not as much because EA, but more because when they do release a game it is many times an inferior port with missing parts sold at full price. Yes a certain downgrading might be necessary for some games when ported from a different console to Switch but the blatant slashing of features (as in Fifa) on the premise that it would not work on Switch is disappointing.
@maruse yeah, that is not going to happen. It looks like Capcom is still set in its old ways, releasing a port of an older games and then complaining about low sales and pulling support because people are not prepared to pay once again for a game they already have played/bought years earlier.
@nitrolink really, has it though? We've had I am Setsuna, recently Lost Sphear and now DQ builders which are decent games. But where are the big releases, like DQ X, SQ XI, any FF that is not a spinoff, Secret of Mana collection, .... Even Octopath has still nog release date and that games has been hyped for months now.
@tourjeff I do hope so because i love that game. Still those comments always feel a little bit like blackmail to me: "Buy this game of ours and we will think about releasing others if we make enough money" Yes a company has to test the water before jumping in but some of them have been "testing the water" for quite some time already while professing support without actually having anything to show
@retro_player_22 yeah, let's just hope they don't just make a lazy port (li.e. demo DQ heroes). Let us pray they make the same effort as panic button and bethesda did. Localise DQX for pete's sake !!! i'm willing to fork out to play DQ MMO as long as they keep the price fair.
@The_Pixel_King Very farfetched but it would be lovely if they could relinquish their hold on the rights of Scalebound, so the developer could finish the game for Switch.

Re: Saints Row: The Third Will Include All DLC On Switch
@Heavyarms55 Well it's basically Grand Theft for people who think GTA was too serious and mundane
I'm going to wait till i see some gameplay footage, hopefully they'll upgrade the graphics
