Re: Japan Got A Few Extra Games In Its February Nintendo Direct

ktej75

@AlternateButtons actually there are some if you are a game company that wants to make a profit, cost versus expected sales is an obvious one. Why would they make that extra cost if they can't expect a nominal profit from it.
I have also posted for the localizations of interesting games but i can (reluctantly) undestand the POV of a company.

Re: Japan Got A Few Extra Games In Its February Nintendo Direct

ktej75

@AlternateButtons in this case i guess because some of those IP's are not especially known here, although i would love to play that baseball game rather than RBI baseball.
Also in the case of the Doraemon game, some of the humor is typically japanese and would likely offend some delicate western soul

Re: Sega Is Listening To Fans, Would Love To See Shenmue And Sequel On Switch

ktej75

@Liam_Doolan If Sega were really listening to fans we would already have shining force, panzer dragoon (saga) and skies of arcadia on Switch instead of the umpteenth version of sonic. shenmue &+2 would be nice but the gameplay is something people should look at without nostalgia. these games are mostly slow and can sometimes be tedious (ah the memories of my job as a forklift driver still haunt me). However they form the basis for later games like Yakuza. If they are thinking about Shenmue then maybe there is some hope for Yakuza ?

Re: Surprise! Saints Row: The Third Is Coming To Nintendo Switch

ktej75

@tourjeff We may still get GTA. Look at what is happening with Overwatch. First it was, Overwatch is not possible.
Since then Fortnite and Paladins were released for Switch with success. Suddenly it might be possible to publish Overwatch on the Switch (although nothing has been confirmed up to now)

Re: Blizzard's StarCraft Series Unlikely To Be Released On Nintendo Switch

ktej75

@link3710 Not really no, their library consist mostly out of iterations of WoW, Starcraft, Diablo, Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch and Heartstone. These are all good games in their own right but that's not tons of other games.
Still, I would not mind to see Heartstone and Overwatch make an appearance on Switch as well as WoW, though that last one might be a bit unrealistic.

Re: Panic Button Dreams Of Porting Horizon Zero Dawn To Nintendo Switch

ktej75

@carlos82 But i would love them to try. It would be so funny if they could make a good port that remained graphically faithful to the original just to have the jaws of fanboys everywhere drop.
If they could do that it would finally bury that aggravating argument that the Switch it so underpowerd. Yes, i know it is underpowered compared to the current consoles but it has already had some great and beautiful games released.
That argument bothers me because companies either use it as justification why they will not develop for the Switch or they deliver a subpar effort.

Re: SEGA's Latest Financial Report Reveals Slump In Sales

ktej75

@EvilLucario if only they would use some of their other IPs and actually bring something for the Switch other than Sonic...
a remake or collection of Shining Force, Crazy Taxi, Cyber Troopers Virtual on, 100 Swords, Jet Set/Grind Radio, Phantasy Star (Online), Dragon Force, Skies of Arcadia, Clockwork Knight, Mystaria, ... the list of IP's just goes on and on
Heck even a remake or port of Virtua Fighter or Fighting Vipers would be just great if done properly.
They once made a Magic the Gathering game, that would go great with Switch
Sega has so much to offer if only they would put in the effort and develop for Switch

Re: Nintendo Talks Maintaining Momentum And More Announcements Coming This Year

ktej75

@Alpha008 My guess is that they'll have a Direct end July - begin August but that would most likely be focused on online services or one specific games. Still i think we can't really complain. Gone are the days of Wii U where we literally had to wait months for even a mediocre game. Games are constantly being released (at least on e-shop) and most are decent to good (although there has been an influx of garbage games . Yes we are getting a lot of ports but as long as they are port of good games, I don't really mind.

Re: Square Enix Aims To Shorten The Slow Localization Process For Dragon Quest Games

ktej75

@Korosanbo Except that their story changes whenever they release another statement (once every 10 months or so). In previous statements they had to upgrade the engine because Switch used a newer version of Unreal Engine. Later it was that they had not received SDK-kits for Switch which is strange to me since at the announcement of the Switch in januari last year they stated that development had already started. I love Square games but the way the company talks about releases on Nintendo systems sometimes has me raging.

Re: Random: There's A New Game On The Japanese Switch eShop That's Definitely NSFW

ktej75

@The__Goomba yeah and they will either forget or not remember that this kind of 'racy' game has existed for a long time. Anyone remember those puzzle games on megadrive (and SNES?) where clearing the screen would reveal some pixelated ladyparts ?
Or Custer's revenge. God, it looks like games have been poisoning the minds of gamers for decades XD

Re: The Internet Is Pouring Some Serious Salt On That PC Port Of Chrono Trigger

ktej75

@Shiryu i don't think wé'll have to worry about that Square has been rather, how should i put it..., reticent it seems about releasing any major game on with the obvious exception of DQ builders, setsuna and Lost Sphear, wich are great games. considering however the vast library of games they could port / remake or just release as a "classic" their visible efforts to "support" the switch have been rather shallow till now. Octopath has been announced quite a while as has DQ11 not to mention DQ10 wich has been out in Japan for years...

Re: EA Has "Nothing To Announce" As Far As Burnout Paradise On Switch Is Concerned

ktej75

@OorWullie it not as much because EA, but more because when they do release a game it is many times an inferior port with missing parts sold at full price. Yes a certain downgrading might be necessary for some games when ported from a different console to Switch but the blatant slashing of features (as in Fifa) on the premise that it would not work on Switch is disappointing.

Re: Look, Capcom Knows You Really Want Monster Hunter World On Switch

ktej75

@maruse yeah, that is not going to happen. It looks like Capcom is still set in its old ways, releasing a port of an older games and then complaining about low sales and pulling support because people are not prepared to pay once again for a game they already have played/bought years earlier.

Re: Bandai Namco To Announce Three Big Switch Titles Early Next Year

ktej75

@tourjeff I do hope so because i love that game.
Still those comments always feel a little bit like blackmail to me:
"Buy this game of ours and we will think about releasing others if we make enough money"
Yes a company has to test the water before jumping in but some of them have been "testing the water" for quite some time already while professing support without actually having anything to show

Re: Square Enix on What to Expect on the Switch in the Future

ktej75

@retro_player_22 yeah, let's just hope they don't just make a lazy port (li.e. demo DQ heroes). Let us pray they make the same effort as panic button and bethesda did. Localise DQX for pete's sake !!! i'm willing to fork out to play DQ MMO as long as they keep the price fair.
