Revisiting FE: Three Houses as I feel like doing some tactical combat. I still love how you can zoom in and roam around the detailed battlefields, seeing all characters up close.
Then some pokemon catching in Arceus. It's feeling as relaxing as wandering around my ACNH island - until getting chased around by an alpha!
Dicey Dungeons was an unexpected delight. Endearing characters, great challenges and the different mechanics of each character keeps the game fresh among the playthroughs. A chance to learn how to deal with failure that are either your own or luck based.
Nice footage, definitely some new mechanics with crafting and the noble pokemon.
I'm curious what the feel will be like, wandering around in the open areas. Will it be a peaceful feeling, with sometimes a nice surprise of a Pokemon? Will it be boring, with hardly anything interesting to see? Will it be exciting, to sneak around, just in case there is a pokemon around that is easily scared?
On ACNH I will be getting to know my new villager Wendy, an adorable ram. And for the rest obsessing with FE: Three Houses. Will progress as far as possible before the release of Pokemon Arceus, which I am pretty hyped about since I saw Snorlax around in the trailers.
It looks like a nice pokemon world to wander, and that is the main attraction to me. Will it be a good game? I don't have too high expectations, but I do hope so!
@Kieroni Thanks for taking a look. I'll try to make it myself then, since the oldest neighbour kid is only 11. I have some experience with papercraft so I should be able to make it a bit decent looking, at least I hope so and I like a challenge
That is a seriously nice paper craft model. You'll need good paper and a good printer to make it worth while, and that will cost you a bit at the local print shop. So, what age is recommended for this? Not sure whether my neigbour kids will be able to do this (with a little help of course).
Fondly anticipating Advance Wars now - I would have gladly played it throughout the holidays so the delay is unfortunate. I am amazed by the top titles to come for by now an older console.
Charizard remains an epic Pokemon, but it doesn't feel like "my" pokemon if gained through a download code. Somehow it's different if a friend gifts you a Pokemon or through random trade!
It seems the holiday season won't be a time to purchasing new games this time for me. I'm awaiting the Pokemon Arceus and Advance Wars releases. In the mean time I can use the time for games waiting in my library (Kakarot, Okami).
I still enjoy my island as a place to relax when I have a stresfull day coming up. Happy to see the updates and to have the option of the DLC if I want to spend more time in the ACNH world. I will try out the AC dlc through NSO (which I will painfully pay for because of the N64 games). I expect I will just play it a bit to see what it's about, but will enjoy the main large update with cooking more.
I have been playing some Mario Party Superstars. I never played it before, so I am getting utterly crushed with the foresight of my friends.
Then on the list is some Super Smash Ultimate, as I am enjoying that Sora joined the roster. And finally checking in on the 'old' Animal Crossing New Horizons, before the big updates!
It's great to have the opportunity to play these N64 games and coincidentally I still love Animal Crossing. I'll have to give in at some point, even though the pricing is terrible. I also very much dislike the way the "discount" (what I already paid...) gets applied, that your subscription gets renewed for another year in stead of adding the plus sub to your current subscription end date.
@SwampRabbit That is really a positive take on this - and a good idea! I have been working on an idea for an apple orchard but I mostly rather sell my fruits than eat them. Now I can eat eggs!
Really enjoyed this game on pc, it's such a joyous universe to spend time in and the battle mechanics are fun, learning to combo well etc. I have all dlc on pc, I don't think it's worth the price to get the game w/ dlc on Switch too.
Now that I have a pipe warp to Redd, the snow has melted, young bamboo available... Time to redecorate in ACNH! I'll also check out the new characters in Smash Bros.
We should feel lucky with a tech giant like Google willing to make the investments to try out what the possibilities of cloud gaming. It's not trivial to get a check on the challenges of such large scale networking. It's also a gamble what actual customer demands are when you try out something new. Perhaps cloud gaming is not the future, but we should be happy with those companies doing the R&D for new possibilities.
Probably the sales are okay because of the pandemic. It makes the appeal of a beautiful Pokemon that much more. At least, for me that's the reason I started playing Pokemon Sword recently. I am much rather stressed out by the question which Pokemon I want on my team, than by the news.
My main gripes with the game are the bad textures in the game world. I actually like the character and Pokemon modeling. And let's not underestimate that Dynamax does bring an entirely new game mechanic. A lot of UI has been polished and other game mechanics are more accessible.
Should they do better for the money they are charging? I do think so. As for game engine development and creating an immersive game world, there are many important improvements that could be made. In that are, you see other AAA developers making leaps that GF should also be making.
But let's be honest: I rather have this, than waiting years for that better Pokemon game to get developed.
@Strumpf Happy birthday! You'll have a great time with Hollow Knight, there's so much to discover there, there's probably enough for you to explore still.
Real life events prompted me to feel a strung urge to revisit the Pokemon universe again. After finding out my Pokemon Silver battery had depleted, making saving impossible until replacing it, I caved in and ordered Pokemon Sword. What a blast to be all the time wondering: which pokemon should be in my team??
That poor Magikarp at the end. Still no idea what to expect from this game, but any video transporting us into that wonderful world is very welcome at this moment.
Probably some level of escapeism is familiar to all of us here. I think it's a good thing, if you need a break or a time out at some point. At the same time, I have seen escapeism prohibiting people to take the next step in their life, taking on a job or studies with its hardships. When it becomes easier to hide your low self esteem rather than to develop yourself, I do think it's a problem. With schools closing down and parents stressed out, the chances on that happening is higher than ever.
Started up with Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum 'n Fun again since a few days. My new goal is to have full combo on all easy songs on the DK congos. The game is so whacky and cheerful, it is great to lighten my mood these days.
Awesome video. It's so much fun loitering around in the game world, exploring and doing whatever you like. For example, I recently took up photography, it's really another skill needed to be able to catch the in-game butterflies. I can imagine that practicing this can be a lot of fun for someone.
I am only in my third year or so of rice farming. I did watch some documentaries on rice farming, to help me understand the process better. I was joyfully amazed to see the same process with technical improvements, as in Sakuna you are not using any machines! So I'm still enjoying the unique rice farm sim / action platforming combination, great to see that this can continue for many in-game years to come
Have been feeling the lockdown, so I am up for Breath of the Wild and Skyrim letting me continuing explore whatever I feel like. Also, as always Animal Crossing for soothing...
@dux good job at times it feels I'm barely hanging by with the intense world news, and other times I feel so cheerful. I put on some KK music, and real life doesn't even feel that different to the relaxed island life. Glad to hear you're also finding your way through.

Re: Nintendo's New Year Sale 2022 Is Live On Switch eShop, Up To 75% Off (Europe)
Incredibly weird, to have a sale after the sale. But I picked up FE Three Houses, it's nice to have a more elaborate game for the next few days.

Probably I am in the wrong gaming circles to understand this - but seriously fifa21? Or maybe it's the lack of real life football driving things up?
