I am still awaiting when Metroid Prime 4 gets an actual year for release.
I'm looking forward to the day when Metroid Prime 4 isn't listed as "TBA" anymore. It has been listed as that for over 4 years
edit: On another note, it's crazy how we already know about 8 games coming next year before 2022 has even started.
Metroid prime TBA. Good year
Crazy how SMTV is an actual thing launching in just over a week.
2022 is going to be a very strong year... even if there is not much more from nintendeo than what we know already, it would be a good year
Strange, I got an e-mail from the store I pre-ordered the Zelda Game & Watch yesterday saying it was delayed by a week (due to supply issues)
Zelda and Bayonetta(SMTV is a sure banker pre-ordered) for AAA games i will like to purchase when released.
Then will buy as well project triangle.
2022 is certainly shaping up! You'd think there will likely be some new Mario arriving too with the film coming at the end of the year.
New Zelda and new Mario makes me very suspicious that there could be new Hardware in the mix too...
Pokemon games do nothing for me, just wish they'd add a date to BOTW2, then I can start marking the days off on my calendar.
Kirby, Zelda and Bayo are the only three I'm interested in, out of that list.
@jojobar
>2022 is going to be a very strong year... even if there is not much more from nintendeo than what we know already, it would be a good year
well, you can say it about every upcoming year.
Metroid Prime 2024
I wonder if they're just gonna push Metroid Prime to their next console.
Nintendo did say that the Switch will have an extended life but what does that mean? The usual life cycle of their systems are 5 to 6 years and the Switch will turn 5 in March... Of course, the Game Boy lived for 9 to 12 years, depending on how you categorize the Color.
@Dethmunk
Prime 4 isn't taking the thunder away from Breath of the Wild 2 lol - in fact, the exact opposite would happen should they release near each other.
To paraphrase Travis Touchdown: "2022? Good luck with that..."
Already 6 games I want for 2022, and who know about Prime?
this holiday season is quite underwhelming ... again. Good thing the Switch is such a well supported system that I wouldn't care that much
Really looking forward to Triangle Strategy. That’ll keep me busy for a LONG time 🔼
The sequel to Zelda BotW, Bayonetta 3, Splatoon 3 and Triangle Strategy. Yes, 2022 will be a good year!
The year is 2090, nintendo has just released a list of upcoming games, the world is stunned into silence as metroid prime 4 finally has a release date.
I read "Windows" and before I could stop it, my mind was imagining The Sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on PC.
The fact Nintendo decided to make yet another Kirby instead of a new Mario Kart really stings considering we've been playing MK8 for nearly eight years...
Casually waiting for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Legend of Arceus.
GTA Trilogy, SMT IV, Marvel’s Midnight Sun along with these releases… the future, Switch alone, is enough for another backlog pile for me.
of that list I am only interest on metroid 4 and mario and rabbid spark of hope , I lost interest on breath of the wild 2 after the last trailer release it
2022 is the new 2017. This will truly be an awesome year, and we'll also finally stop getting those memes about people hating on Nintendo Directs for the lack of Smash fighters.
Kirby, zelda, bayonetta 3 and metroid prime 4 for me
Fondly anticipating Advance Wars now - I would have gladly played it throughout the holidays so the delay is unfortunate. I am amazed by the top titles to come for by now an older console.
I am still waiting for Mario Kart 9 - where is it? MK8 came out in 2014, that's 7 years ago. Why aren't there any native Mario Kart for the Switch?
@Calllack Well there's nothing stopping you playing any Switch game on PC. Have you seen how nice BotW looks on an emulator? Plus, the framerate doesn't tank to about 15fps by the Deku Tree.

@TimGibsonPBS and we should also get a Zelda collection- for those who have NSO- they could buy a double pack- Wind a Waker and Twilight Princess, and at the same time this dual pack could have a deluxe version that would contain Ocarina and Majora 3D remaster, so that both parties are happy:)
@Matroska not just Deku Tree- but all the tropical highly dense environment- try Lakeside Stable:(
@Freek possibly. Or 2023. Depends how Retro is progressing. Might be the lead game for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Let’s be honest. If switch 2 comes out in 2023 then Zelda botw 2 will be delayed to match its release.
@sanderev I got an email from the Nintendo Uk store a couple of days ago to say they was going to take my money so no delay from them .
I hope MP4 will be the last of this series because if we want a sequel (MP5), then we will be too old to play it ! It literally will take ages!
didnt know Triangle Strategy was March 4th. That makes the delay of Marvel Midnight Sons out of March a bit better for me
I'm fairly certain that BOTW 2 won't come out until nintendo release their next console. My best guess is a March/April release in 2023.
Can't wait to play Duke Prime 4ever.
@TimGibsonPBS I wonder if the rumours of a Prime Trilogy Switch release were true but that it got delayed as they wanted it to whet the appetite before Prime 4 and so didn't want it to launch too long before it.
@TimGibsonPBS It's frustrating to think that the completed Switch versions might be sitting somewhere on a shelf, but I understand the reasoning.
@thiz the new Kirby game was announced is a previous Direct with a trailer, looks intriguing but a bit empty
Advance Wars And Metroid Prine 4.
That's all, everything else I want to play is on Xbox.
@mario-from-mario-64 To be fair, we have just had Dread, so I can wait a little longer. But would still like sooner rather than later. =)
@Grumblevolcano I used to love that show when Ant and Dec did it
We hereby announce that Metroid Prime 4 is to be announced.
MP4 is so old....
(HOW OLD IS IT?)
MP4 is so old.....Reggie Fils-Aime was still there to announce it. (ba dum tss)
(Super extra bonus points to anyone who gets the reference)
Can't say that any of these games are keeping me up at night in anticipation
@thiz It’s that 3D style Kirby game. Seems impossible for it to play itself from what I’ve seen.
Still waiting on a release date for Splatoon 3^^
It appears as though I'll be on a Pokemon kick for awhile. Not a bad release schedule, though it stinks that Advance Wars was delayed.
I'll be getting all of them but Splatoon 3 and the Big Brain thing. A very big hitting and expensive 2022 for me then.
Guess will get the Super Switch then in 2022.........
Next year is going to be a huge year for switch software. I'm guessing the rumored Donkey Kong game will come out next year as well. Hopefully a Wind Waker & Twilight Princess pack. Probably either remastered Metroid Prime or hopefully Metroid Prime trilogy. Nintendo will probably bust out one brand new thing like they have been doing every year with the switch.
And probably the last full year for the switch in 2023 will likely have a brand new 2D Mario, Metroid Prime 4, maybe one last pokémon on the Switch to take advantage of that enormous user base, and then there's the question of pikmin, star fox, fzero, mario strikers, xenoblade, and a few other franchises.
Then a switch 2 release in 2024 with Mario kart 9 and a 3D Mario to get the next gen started. Going to be a good next few years for Nintendo gamers!
Not to be negative or anything but really dont think they would announce a delay this way either way. If BOTW 2 is delayed it will be announced at another time.
Most looking forward to Triangle Strategy, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, and The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
@Calllack same here! I literally misread the headline as "Nintendo Confirms Windows Release For Major Upcoming Switch Games" and I almost fell out of my chair
Metroid Prime 4 and [temp] are old friends
I can't say I'm not excited, but at the moment, my main 'must get' games are just Pokemon Legends, Kirby, and Advance Wars. My backlog is already ridiculous, lol
For what if's: I'm waiting on reviews of BD/SP, but I'm tempted to grab it. Splatoon 3 and Mario + Rabbids are games I want to get, but I need more details, especially on Splatoon 3. I have so many concerns that I think will get tossed out, but I can't say for sure until Nintendo shows their hand.
BotW 2, Bayo 3, SMTV all look cool, but I want to play prior entries first, especially if they're on Switch. It's been so long since BotW that I'm planning to start fresh since I didn't invest much time into my file, despite enjoying it. Same for MP4, but I'm assuming I've got more time for that.
Only interested in BOTW 2, Advance Wars and Metroid Prime 4, got a huge backlog anyway so I can wait.
@TheBigK i think people will be underwhelmed if it's on switch. It's already had to restart development, which is never a good sign, on top of so many playing FPS games on true next gen consoles, so there's so much to compare it to & judge it by. Metroid dread already looked really bad anywhere capable of 4k, & even at 30fps, i think it will be tough to make that game look anywhere close to comparable, unless it has basically no textures on anything. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I'd rather have it on the next console than be disappointed personally. Ideally we could have had it already & have the next iteration on next console, but Metroid games take 2-3 longer than their other properties, it seems. They definitely thought the development that already happened wasn't good enough, else they wouldn't have started over & gave it to another developer.
@andyg1412 exactly same for me (and only a maybe on advance wars, unless they can make it look much better than what was in that vid. I never played the originals, i don't play handheld games (until 3ds,, solely for 3d), so i don't have nostalgia rose colored glasses to make it look appealing like i do with most of their releases.
Hears that Breath of the Wild 2 is still on track for a 2022 release
That's good news to my ears, er, horns.
O Pikmin 4, where art thou?
@NoTinderLife Because a Mario Kart HD game was still pretty new (3yrs old) in 2017, so why not just upgrade the pre-existing one and call it a day? I don’t think we will see 9 until the next gen console. We have had other longer gaps of time in the past!
Bayonetta 3 as the 2022 Halloween game?, Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 as the 2022 Holiday title for Switch?unless is delayed to 2023, Metroid Prime 4 releasing in 2023/2024?
i will definitely buy/play Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2, Bayonetta 3 e Metroid Prime 4.
Thats actually a great lineup of games 😃
I just wish they'd acknowledge the Metroid Prime Trilogy and release it at least a year before 4. It's going to take a while to space out those 3 games and finish them.
I wonder how much the chances are for the BoTW sequel to come out next year. If a Xenoblade 3 is coming next year, then I wouldn't mind a delay.
The day we get Metroid Prime 4 is the day I'll say my Switch purchase is justified. That's the only game that interested me back in 2017, and in some ways it still is. Thankfully we got Metroid Dread to give me a Metroid taste on the console.
I can wait a little bit longer, but I'd at least like to know what Samus will look like in Prime 4.
Kirby in 3D is also a runner-up to cover my "justified Switch purchase" checkbox.
I doubt we will see BOTW2 in 2022. I think it will end up being a launch title for the next console. Hope I'm wrong tough
