@dux sounds great, I also love to have a cheerful morning routine before getting out there (or getting to the home office). Animal crossing naturally provides that.
The point of physical is indeed DRM free and demand based pricing. The collectibles never appeal to me, the quality being so low most of the time. I am happy to have Final Fantasy 7/8 physically, as my PC cd disks became unusable at some point in time. Now, I feel these games are safe to replay for me for another long period of time.
The wonder of discovering the world in Hollow Knight, not sure whether a sequel can ever give that same feeling. I read somewhere that it will all be above ground now though, so I'm still curious to find out more.
It was a funny discussion with my friends what kind of countdown we should put on. I was very happy we managed to put on the Animal Crossing countdown, alongside the 'normal' tv show. The AC vibe means to me: if anything goes haywire in the new year, we can count on the cheerfullness on the island.
Case in point, as real life fireworks were forbidden here this year to bring relief to health workers, it was lovely to have a beautiful animation on AC.
@redpanda0310 indeed it's the imperial dining table. I don't like the imperial furniture all too much as it's so stylized Asian. But the food on the dining table looks so delicious, that really gives a homey feeling
This year has been a lot of fun. My top game of this year is definitely Animal Crossing and the past month Sakuna Of Rice and Ruin. Sakuna is such an original game, glad to see it made the list. This sense of discovery on rice farming is just lovely to experience.
2020 has brought enough beautiful games that I might not even need that many new releases next year
It was great waking op this morning, enter the snowy island and see all villagers glowing with festivity and happiness. It's not about the gifts, but exchanging this joy with each other. This is what makes Animal Crossing such a beautiful game.

Re: Nintendo Is Buying Luigi's Mansion Studio Next Level Games
That must be a heck of a compliment for the dev team at Next Level Games, definitely for their great job on Luigi's Mansion.

Great news! The longevity noodles will go great along with the dim sum table in my living room.
