@kepsux same. Tried the beta. Their one-handed gameplay controls are no fun. After about 10 minutes I had enough. Their are racing games with decent controls schemes on mobile, surely Mario Kart could have worked :/
@SterlingEyes that's interesting! I played a demo of Bayonetta (2 maybe?) And remember thinking "this is certainly awesome, but it feels like I am playing a long cutscene." I didn't know if the full games would continue to feel that way so I never bought them.
@sweth_t i haven’t played it on Switch, but have logged a ton of hours on my ps4 copy! I will definitely pick up the expansion. I saw urban trial playground got mediocre reviews, but if this type of game interest you, Trials Rising is phenomenal fun in my opinion.
@Bunkerneath it might have a day 1 patch or update (which is a huge problem these days) But actually most physical games can still be played without updating even if one exist. I almost exclusively play my switch where I don’t have access to wifi, and my physical carts are fine.
I don’t know why people give pixel art a bad rap. Earlier today I booted up one the gba Metroid games via emulator, and for the first few minutes I just sat there appreciating the graphics (as I could actually see them, blown up nice and large and bright)
@Heavyarms55 the thing is, in China, growing up in that culture most of the people don’t even consider copying or stealing intellectual property as negative or wrong at all. It’s just another option to make money, and if you don’t exploit any option available to you, then you’d be seen as dumb or lazy in china. It’s a completely different view and belief.
@impurekind the only downside to that, if you need to replace the controller it’s going to cost a lot more as you’re replacing the whole system. Also i’m Not sure how multiplayer would work...? That said snes controllers last a lot longer than joycons, and there could be Bluetooth for multiplayer
@AlphaElite UO kept my high school grades down. But it was worth it! Some of my fondest gaming memories. Still haven’t felt that same magic from any other mmo.
@kkslider5552000 lol that is the real surprise! But honestly I don't think they realize or care that almost everything is a rip-off. No concept of intellectual property in China. And having been out console gaming for the past 30 years, they don't even have a reference point.
@TAndvig it's a Chinese developer. Chinese don't believe in intellectual property which is why they copy everything. Perhaps Nintendo could stop the game from being sold in countries that recognize IP rights, but that's still a long shot.
It would definitely keep me from buying a Switch Lite (though w/o tv-out i wouldnt buy one anyway) They could have just two two 3ds circle pads kn the switch lite and it would be better
@FTL actually i dont notice the input lag in other games, but i also dont play other games competitively. So it could be the game or the switch. But in another reply i mention, i also have Rocket League on ps4 hooked up to the same tv, and the input lag is noticeably worse when playing on Switch.
@beazlen1 @Cotillion Yep my tv has a “game mode” which helps a little, but i have RL on ps4 also hooked up to the same tv, and the input lag is noticeably worse on the switch version. Even tried with pro controller wired. Its so strange. There are tons of msg boards filled with users saying the same but Psyonix (and maybe Panic Button?) won’t even acknowledge it :/
Rocket League runs much better on my switch than on my laptop. The only problem is i cannot be competitive with joycons, and there is input lag when using pro controller. Plus tv lag when docked :/
@Darkyoshi98 I’m pretty gentle with my electronics. My original joy cons did not drift, but my much newer set developed the problem and i havent even put too many hours or stress on them.
Was never a fan of Dr. Mario. Tetris is the only drop-down puzzler for me.
AC doesnt have the magic of console releases. I play Dragalia occasionally. But Mario Run is the only Nintendo mobile app I spent money on. And i am good with that. I enjoy mario run and hate micro transactions. The only downside is even though mario is a paid app it still requires internet connection, which is lame and a pain where i live.
@RadioHedgeFund the downside is apple keeps changing ios and if devs dont update their game, you cannot download or it might not run even if you can. I have about 4 paid apps that i truly wish i could still use but were never updated to 74-bit
@Shadowkiller97 thank you fir pointing that out! I didnt notice that. I was assuming anyway that lack if tv out will be a software thing. Hopefully they will cave-in and allow tv out, or more likely (unfortunately) release a new expensive dock to make people buy.
@WhiteTrashGuy lacking tv out is the biggest issue i think. But i agree, should have gyro too. There are $200 phones packed with more tech and larger screens. If only mobile games had the same quality...
@Nintendofan83 It would be super jice if the 3ds/2ds series got a decent price cut. Maybe holiday season there will be some nice deals. Still a fantastic system and library, especially for younger gamers.
Such a disappointment. Way to half-ass it nintendo. Its like they’re not even trying. The only good thing about it is the price. Still giant bezels, and no tv out?! It’s not even a “switch” anymore. Hopefully a hack with allow av out via the usb c port. That would be the saving grace.
@Toph6661 not sure if this will help or not. I had the same thing happen with my 3ds once. I really thought it would never turn on again. Anyway i just left it charging for like half a day, and then it finally turned on.
@Magician mercenaries saga is the only one that interested me! So i will pass i suppose. I tried deemo but wasnt feeling it. I am more of a DDR kinda guy
@YANDMAN Dont ever quit! Keep that attitude I have over 1500 hours in RL and I’m been annoyed the entire journey at teammates that try to forfeit once you’re down a goal. Haha
@playstation_king what is “osr”? Handheld mode is the only way i dont feel input lag, but with the joycons i cant play near as well as with a full size controller. I play on my laptop at 720p with all setting lowest. It looks atrocious but the feel of the game is much better than on switch, control-wise.
@YANDMAN i think they covered it when it began. However this update is because the event is broken in 3 stages with different items available each stage. This is the start of phase 2, hence the article.
I have put more hours into RL than any other game in my life. And i still enjoy it and want to to improve. Though i dont play it on the switch much. Now that Epic owns psyonix, my only dream is that they bring RL to mobile with full controller support!
@JaxonH while true, i would still choose to play on 3ds xl’s larger screen every time. I would rather have a larger “jaggy” image than a smaller “sharp” image.... but I am getting old haha
Im all for it! Basically smaller bezels all around. Apparently new nvidia chip is more efficient too which means same battery life, but smaller, lighter battery and system.
There were 2 great Miku music games on ios back in the day. But they were never updated to 64bit so stopped being compatible after whatever ios dropped 32bit support
The gameplay was, using the 12-key kana keyboard with flick, you would hit different letters of the lyrics in time. And the harder difficulties you would have to input more and more of the lyrics with the music. Damn they were good games! I wish they would get updated.
As mentioned in this article though, Little Big Planets physics dont hold a candle to Mario. LBP is charming, but gameplay-wise, Mario tops it handily.
I would just get a clear case, print out whatever design you like and put it on the inside if your clear case. Cheaper and you can change it without buying more cases
@Jokerwolf i really enjoyed my nvidia k1 when i had it. The mini hdmi out was great to have. The only downside was somewhat short battery life. I wish they would a successor! And not just a shield tv, but a new tablet.
Glad for the review. I couldnt even tell what type of gameplay it has from the useless e-shop images. I had fun with diablo and torchlight in the olden days, but this genre no longer interest me.
@rjejr its still not out for a few days. Cant you cancel firsy oreorder and then order through Target? I actually worked at target a few years ago and theyre my fav big box retailer. Too bad there isnt one in my hometown.

However I have the game on PlayStation and no time to play it anyway, so I can not justify the purchase.

Does this play any better?

Yes tetris with touch controls sucks. But soon every ios 13 device will have controller support.

I love tetris, but i really dont enjoy the weird attack mechanics of tetris99.
